MERLIN IS BACK!!!!!!
Oct. 2nd, 2011 02:15 amSo, with Uther pretty much out of the picture, it allowed me to remember why I fell in love with this show in the first place. THE BOYS. I will always have a soft spot for Arthur/Merlin. Always. And they were in top form tonight. Also? I still love Lancelot. Like, a lot. Dude needs to stop being so dreamy if I'm supposed to believe that Gwen would choose Arthur over him. Did you see his face when he said he'd protect Arthur with his life and Gwen just said, "Thank you"? HIS FACE. OMG, HEARTBREAK. That was cold, yo. I can't believe that she goes to her ex boyfriend and basically asks him to die in place of her current boyfriend. DAMN, GWEN. I wish I had her balls. Also, Gwen's coldness towards Lancelot is just making me ship them even harder. I loved them when they had smokin' hot chemistry that more than made up for their lack of depth, but now that it's all unrequited and hopeless? They own me. Gwen is going to forever punish Lancelot for leaving her without any explanation way back when. And you know what? I don't really blame her. But... he's so dreamy. I suspect I would have forgiven him the second he reappeared in front of me.
Also, I'm not going to lie, I love the fact that Morgana's betrayal has left Uther in a catatonic state for an entire year. I would love it more if she wasn't his biological daughter, but, whatever. I've come to terms with that stupid revelation. Mostly. I am still utterly confused on what exactly the family relations are re: Morgana/Morgause/Uther/Arthur's Uncle. Where did Morgause come from again? Was she Morgana's (thought to be) father's daughter? Or was she Morgana's mother's daughter? If so, how did she never know her before? And if Arthur's uncle is Ygraine's brother, then why the heck is he chillin' (and pervin') with Morgana? AUGH, I'M SO CONFUSED. Show, you should have stuck to season 1 canon, because Morgana being related to the Pendragons is just plain confusing.
And am I crazy or is the show trying to softly transition us into a world without Uther? IS HE GOING TO DIE THIS SEASON? Guys, it's like Michael Scott leaving The Office all over again. Except... Uther is not the star of Merlin. But he totally is in my head! What is a Merlin without my Uther? *sniff* On the upside, if the show keeps being as good as this episode was, then I think I'll be able to deal with it just fine. Especially if they give me more Lancelot.
In other news, my Office bobbleheads arrived today, and the first thing I did was open the Kelly one and put her next to Andy, so now I at least have a complete set of all my Office ships (I have Ryan/Micheal/Dwight lined up on one side, and then Kelly/Andy/Oscar on the other. Once I set up the rest I am totally going to have Toby being a creeper behind Jim and Pam). Did I mention that the last two eps of The Office have totally given my Andy/Kelly feelings a resurgence? I am shipping them like it's 2007, baby. Although the C-Span comment stirred my Andy/Oscar feelings, too, so... basically Andy getting to interact with everybody in every episode is like heaven to me.

Came-a-lot!
Feb. 28th, 2011 01:34 pmSo, I just watched Camelot. Is it weird that I ship Merlin/Arthur like mad even in this version? I mean, dudes, he was looking in on Arthur's very detailed sex dream and was all jealously shouting, "WHO IS SHE? WHO IS SHE?!!" and Arthur's just like, "WTF?" Ahahahaha, OMG, I love them. I also kind of ship Merlin/Morgan. I can see me getting attached to either one, though at this point Merlin/Arthur is the winner by a long shot. And I'm sure I'll fall in love with Guinevere/Lancelot whenever they get introduced. Maybe. Or else I'll find the whole Arthur/Guinevere/Lancelot triangle insufferable and just want more Arthur/Merlin. WHO KNOWS. And I'm sure Morgan will get in on that triangle action, too, so... but if she has sexual tension with any of the main characters, I'm hoping it will be with Merlin (in fact, they already do have some tension, but I don't think it's supposed to be sexual, although one bit made me think that there may be a past romance between them, but that could just be wishful thinking on my part). When I saw the previews, I thought it a bit odd that the show cast such a soft, non-intimidating looking actor as Arthur, but it totally works for how this plot was set up, so, I actually felt he fit perfectly (especially since he's supposed to be a bit of a pretty boy Lothario). So, yeah, I'm totally into this show, even though it's kind of lame at this point. But, you know, it's not any worse than Merlin.
Also, HOW CUTE WAS COLIN LAST NIGHT? OMG, I LOVE HIM. It's about damn time that he finally gets some recognition for being a quality actor. I've been dazzled by his talent for years, but I know that he's mostly only known for his romantic lead roles (and I love him as the romantic lead, don't get me wrong. He will always be my favorite. ALWAYS!) but he's done so much more than that. He made me cry my eyes out with And When Did You Last See Your Father, he made me love him and hate him and cry for him in Where the Truth Lies, he got me all hot and bothered in Girl With a Pearl Earring, he was such a jerkass in Valmont but somehow he still made me love him, he was so quietly brilliant in A Month in the Country, and oooooh how I loved him in Another Country. But of course Bridget Jones is what drew me to him, and Pride and Prejudice is what made me obsessed with him, so... But I love that he's also not afraid to do the cheesy rom-com roles or the goofy kids movie roles or the snarky gay guy roles or that role in Mamma Mia that made the movie somewhat bearable. So, yeah, he's awesome. I love him.

Just finished watching the finale. My main thought? How in the world does Lancelot just keep getting dreamier and dreamier? I HAD HEARTS IN MY EYES. Much like Lancelot and Merlin did during their late night talk. OMG, SO GAY. THAT WAS GAYER THAN MOST ARTHUR/MERLIN SCENES, WHICH IS TO SAY THAT IT WAS REALLY GAY. Oh, I loved it. "I know you too well, Merlin." *eyesex eyesex EYESEX* I mean, I've been shipping Merlin/Gwaine pretty hard, but damn, Lancelot was giving all the dreamy speeches to Merlin instead of Gwen in this episode, and... I JUST CAN'T RESIST HIM. LANCELOT IS REALLY, REALLY DREAMY. I am sorry, Arthur-loving flist of mine, but I would leave that boy in a second if dreamy Lancelot came swooping in to save the day. DID YOU SEE HIS SCRUFF? OMG.
Er... other than that, my favorite scene was the Morgana/Uther one. OMG, HOW SHOCKING, right? I just can't quit these two. That scene was intense and gorgeous and angsty and DID YOU SEE THE WAY SHE KEPT LOOKING HIM UP AND DOWN? STOP THAT, MORGANA. I CAN'T NOT SHIP YOU GUYS WHEN YOU DO THAT. And, ooooooooh, Uther's heartbreak there is so ridiculously beautiful. He is a complete mess, not because she betrayed him and took over his kingdom, but because she doesn't return his love. She ~hates~ him MORE THAN HE'LL EVER KNOW. And yet she keeps him alive, and she can't look him in the eye when she says this. WHATEVER, MORGANA. This has been about Uther from the beginning. Her entire reason for everything that she does stems from her feeling rejected by Uther. DADDY DIDN'T LOVE ME ENOUGH, BOOHOOHOO. Seriously, that is her, only she's killing people instead of boohooing all over the place. But, yeah, her relationship with Uther is as complicated as ever, and that scene convinced me that she still doesn't hate him as much as she says she does. Or, maybe she does, but a part of her still wants his love and acceptance anyway, because her feelings for him are that screwed up. Uther loves her, plain and simple, but he can't acknowledge her as his own, nor can he accept her for all that she is, and this will always, always hurt her heart. This will always make her feel like she isn't good enough; no matter how much power she attains, that insecurity will always be hanging over her head, AND IT'S ALL UTHER'S FAULT. And it kills Uther that he's such a huge source of pain for Morgana. He wants nothing more than to make her happy, but he's finally figured out that that's impossible, because he's him. Just... augh, I still love this ship so freaking much. Even without the romantic/sexual subtext they are absolutely fascinating.
Another thing I loved about this episode? Arthur and Merlin were so very them. The them that I love with my whole heart and soul, where they both realize that they mean something to each other and are ecstatic to have each other's backs. Where Merlin is proud to be Arthur's anonymous savior. Where it's obvious that Merlin is such a fundamental part of Arthur's life that Arthur can't imagine doing anything without him. THEIR LOVE IS SO BEAUTIFUL. ♥

A bunch of crazy
Nov. 7th, 2010 01:09 amSo... Merlin was kind of boring this week, yes? Poor Gaius, he gets no love from me whatsoever. I do love him, but, you know, I love everyone else more. At least there was some super adorable Merlin/Arthur arm-punching going on. ♥
Oh, speaking of Merlin, am I nuts for really, really wanting to do an Uther/Morgana vid from Uther's POV set to Haunted by Taylor Swift? Like, clearly Uther's inner monologue sounds exactly like an angsty teenage girl, right? I'm pretty sure it does. Side note: for the bit where she's like "He will try to take away my pain/And he just might make me smile/But, the whole time I'm wishing he was you instead" I totally want to show clips of Arthur. AUGH, WHAT IS MY BRAIN?
Time to have a bitch moment (or two): I've gotten back into reading Jeff/Annie fic lately, because I seriously miss them, but I keep coming across fics where Jeff just randomly starts calling Annie "Edison" and it just completely takes me out of the fic, and I hate hate HATE this weird trend and wish it would freaking stop (but, you know, my view of the characters isn't everyone's view of the characters, so I should not let it bother me this much, but UGH!). When they do that and then throw in some cutesy banter I can't help but read it as Jim and Pam, because that is pretty much a staple of Jim/Pam fic and it bugs me when people turn Jeff and Annie into them, because they are anything but Jim and Pam. Bah. Not once has Jeff ever called Annie by her last name, has he? Or anyone, for that matter (except for Chang, of course, but that one makes complete sense. In fact, it would be weird if they all suddenly started calling him "Ben"). Anyway, if it's not an AU, I find the whole "Edison" thing to be completely OOC. On the bright side, that seems to be my only pet peeve with Jeff/Annie fic so far (well, that and making Abed annoying, but I am much more forgiving about Abed since I think he is nearly impossible to get right in fanfic form).
Bitch moment #2: Usually I like it when fanvids manage to incorporate voice clips from the show, but you know what? It just doesn't work for Vampire Diaries unless you are really good at disguising the background music that plays pretty much throughout the whole show. If you can't disguise it, then it's just better to leave it out. Otherwise, a perfectly good vid ends up getting ruined. Oh, oh, and you know what else has been bugging me about fanvids lately (for all fandoms)? That whole echo effect with the voice clips. ENOUGH WITH THE ECHOES. WHAT THE HELL, WHY DOES EVERY VID HAVE TO HAVE THAT? Now, I'm not saying that it's entirely bad, but freaking use it with purpose, don't just do it because it's the current trend. Use it for memories, voices inside a character's head, but don't use it for plain old voice-overs. Especially if there are a lot of words and it all gets jumbled into incoherency after you put the echo effect on it. It really depends on the mood of the vid for me on whether I think the echo effect is used successfully or not, but more often than not I find it obnoxious. (but, again, the whole world does not see things the way I do, to each their own and all that, BUT GODDAMN. ENOUGH WITH THE ECHOES).
Alright, now that the negativity is over, let's get back to the good stuff. Want to read an absolutely amazing Jeff/Annie fic that will completely blow your mind with its wonderfulness? Then check out They Can Never Call You By It by
columbuscrab. I am not generally into the fics that explore Annie's drug addiction, simply because most of the fics are either over the top or just not my thing, but this fic is so beautifully written and man do you feel everything that Annie is going through, and god did she get the Jeff/Annie friendship down so perfectly. Everything in this fic happens like you would think the characters would handle it, and it's just a magnificent piece of writing, and surprisingly in character for such a dark fic.
In other news, I find myself ridiculously into Sam/Spencer from iCarly tonight. I have no idea why. There hasn't even been a new ep of iCarly for a few weeks now, but gosh, I love those two so damn much, and I somehow got sucked into watching reruns from season 1 tonight and they were all so different back then, but the Sam/Spencer vibes were as strong as ever. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE. And I love watching those episodes now with the knowledge that it was completely intentional that Sam has always had a thing for Spencer. I always knew it, but, you know, they didn't confirm it canonically until just recently. And then in the last new ep (iDo, I think it was?), Carly and Freddie are listing all of Spencer's faults and he's just like, "Yeah, yeah, that's true," and then Sam pipes up with, "Yeah, and he's got a flat butt," and Spencer turns around and shouts "TOO FAR!" and knocks the food out of her hand, and then spends the rest of the episode trying to prove to her that his butt is firm and round, and... well, of course I'm going to read into that as, "Spencer wants Sam to know that he is desirable. And he wants her to touch his butt." Of course, it's simply just that Spencer is rather vain about his appearance, but it's interesting that he's most sensitive about criticism whenever it comes from Sam. Anyway, watching the earlier eps tonight reminded me how even in the beginning they've always been in sync with each other. Like, maybe they're not always on the same page (especially since they are both often in their own worlds), but it doesn't take long for them to catch up with each other. And whenever one of them says something illogical, it usually makes sense to the other while Carly and Freddie are just completely lost. Remember the paintball war and how they both went to extremes and respected each other more the more extreme they got? Remember the episode where Sam taught Spencer how to lie? Remember that time when he put his mouth on her ear so that she could hear his pop rocks popping? Remember when Spencer asked Sam to model for his sculpture because he broke up with his girlfriend? REMEMBER WHEN SAM SAID THAT IF SHE DIDN'T HAVE A LITTLE CRUSH ON SPENCER THAT SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN HITTING HIS FACE WITH A BASEBALL BAT? REMEMBER WHEN SPENCER KEPT SHOWING HER HIS BUTT? Yeah, that happened. Oh, them. I love them. A lot. Here, have a video:

What a lazy Saturday I've had...
Oct. 31st, 2010 12:47 am1. Finally got around to watching the latest ep of Vampire Diaries. HOLY CRAP. <--My reaction to every episode.
( Spoilers )
2. Just watched ep 18 of Sungkyunkwan Scandal, and it was not nearly as tragic as I thought it would be, though the ending angered me greatly.
( Spoilers )
Anywho, favorite moment:

Heeeeeeeeee. ♥
3. MERLIN. Fact: Merlin is 20 times more awesome whenever Gwaine shows up. CAN HE BE A REGULAR, PLEASE? Especially since he gives Merlin the love that Arthur never will. Merlin deserves to have a friend that actually appreciates him. While I've enjoyed Merlin/Lancelot in the past, it seemed like Lancelot's true loyalty lied with Arthur, so it's nice that Merlin gets to have a friend who is loyal to him and doesn't give a fig about Arthur. And is it just me, or did Gwaine look totally envious of Arthur in the end? Like he was depressed that he couldn't travel around with Merlin forever and ever while Arthur gets to have Merlin all to himself 24/7. No? Just me projecting, then? Okay. Seriously, you have no idea how much I wanted Merlin to turn around and follow Gwaine, but silly Merlin will always only have eyes for Arthur. This kind of kills my soul a little, because this season has pretty much stomped all over my OTPs for this show, and suddenly I find myself OTPing the heck out of Merlin/Gwaine even though Gwaine is just a recurring character. *sigh*
I haven't spoken much about this, but lately I am really not enjoying Arthur/Gwen. I didn't mind them when we only got a moment here and there, but now it's like every single episode has to shove in a reminder of their EPIC LOVE for each other and it's kind of annoying. Not so annoying that it will deter from my enjoyment of an episode, but just annoying enough that it makes me sigh wearily whenever they have a scene together. I think my main problem is that Arthur is the one that is supposed to be hopelessly in love with Gwen, and yet I simply don't feel it from his end. Not one bit. Their scenes just end up being awkward because of that. Angel is doing her best to sell it, but Bradley is just... not great at romance, apparently. He almost seems bored with it, you know? Or I guess I'm just projecting again, I don't know, but the dude who plays Lancelot manages to sell the crap out of the Lancelot/Gwen romance and they've only had two episodes of development, while Arthur and Gwen have had an entire season and a half of development and I am still not feeling it. I think I felt it more last season than I am this one. As for Arthur/Merlin, I am still loving their banter and unintentionally suggestive scenes, but I am bummed at how emotionally distant they seem to be, lately. Merlin used to be Arthur's best friend, his emotional other half, but now he's just... that smart-mouthed serving boy who occasionally has moments of useful insight. I MISS THEIR BROMANTIC LOVE FOR EACH OTHER. They still flirt like they've always done, but a lot of the emotion seems to be missing this season. Bah.
"Evil" Morgana is starting to get on my nerves. I wish they wouldn't make her so one-note. I don't get why she was allowed to be morally ambiguous when she was one of the good guys, but now that she is on the bad side she has to be eeeeeeeeeevil, smirky, I-want-to-kill-everyone-just-because-I-can Morgana. IT MAKES NO SENSE. Like, I get her need/want to kill Uther, I think that's deserved. But getting such pleasure out of the thought of killing Arthur? Her own brother who has done absolutely nothing awful to her whatsoever? Just... can't she at least be briefly troubled by the idea of killing Arthur? Can't she have a moment here and there to stop and remember that she used to love these people? Couldn't she be on Morgause's side but still be good at heart? I just hate that they've completely changed everything about what Morgana used to stand for. She had her idea of what a just world should be, and she did everything in her power to accomplish that. Why couldn't the show use this as her motivation in going against Camelot? Right now it just looks like a lust for power and a need to please Morgause. Augh, I hate what they've done to her. Luckily she wasn't in much of this ep, though, since it was all about Gwaine's love for Merlin.
4. Did anyone else catch that Daily Show/Colbert Report Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear? My oldest brother actually went to it and invited me to come along, but I didn't want to drive up there all on my own, so I didn't go (plus, I bet the Metro was super crowded and a total pain to ride today). I did manage to catch the last hour or so on Comedy Central though. It... wasn't that good, so I'm kind of happy that I declined the invitation. I did quite enjoy Stephen getting angry at Jon for wearing the same American flag pull over fleece sweater, though, and their song about who was more American. Also, I loved Jon's speech at the end of the show. I am not a big Jon Stewart fan (I'm a Colbert gal through and through), but when he's being serious and trying to get a non-partisan point across, he does it really well.
5. K-dramas I've watched over the past month:
Snow White - This one was so-so. Good for mindless entertainment, I suppose. No joke, I originally only watched this because the lead girl looked like she had a bit of an Ugly Betty thing happening, and I was like, "Hmm... wonder if that's true?" Well, it was nothing like Ugly Betty, but it was still a cute show. I was really, really enjoying it in the beginning, but then it started lagging in the middle and I just wanted to get to the end. I think the show made a huge mistake by making the best friend eventually fall in love with her, because it completely changed their dynamic and I was seriously missing the relationship that they had prior to that (plus, that guy was really likable and it was just sad to see him end up with no one). Also, it took me ages to figure out that the main guy was the same one from Tree of Heaven. He is so completely different in this that it just shocked me that it was the same guy. During the first episode I had a fleeting thought that it was him, but then I was like, "Nah, I only think that because I just watched Tree of Heaven." But, no, it was totally him. (speaking of Tree of Heaven, I still can't bring myself to go back to that show. I've watched the first three eps and just cannot take anymore of that heartbreak. But I want to know what happens! But it's so damn sad. But their love is epic! But it hurrrrrrts to watch that show. *sigh* I am not good with angsty melodramas, apparently) Anyway, Snow White was enjoyable, but nothing about it really stood out to me.
The Vineyard Man - I seem to enjoy Yoon Eun Hye's dramas without fail, and this was the only one [where she's the main star] that I hadn't watched, so I gave it a try. It was adorable, but not as good as good as Goong, Coffee Prince, or Take Care of the Young Lady. Actually, it might be on par with TCotYL, but I enjoyed the pacing of TCotYL much more than I did The Vineyard Man. It took two (or maybe three) episodes to get the characters to the vineyard, and then I got a little frustrated with how long it took the characters to get together, but the fact that it took them so long and contained so much pining kind of made the payoff so very good. Plus, I just really enjoyed the supporting characters on this show and the scenery was beautiful, and it really made me want to be a farmer even though I would be horrible at doing hard labor, especially in the dead of summer, but dramas like this always make me long to live in places where the entire neighborhood is like one big family, and people are actually outside conversing with each other for fun instead of watching TV or playing on the computer. THAT LIFESTYLE IS SO FOREIGN TO ME. And, really, if you were to throw me into that lifestyle right now I would probably be completely miserable, but it looks so wonderful on TV! Anyway, this drama was super cute (as are all of Yoon Eun Hye's dramas), and it's one of the few dramas that actually gives us a completely satisfying ending, so, I enjoyed it.
Also, I finished watching I am Sam for a third time. I JUST CAN'T STOP WATCHING IT. My favorite bits of it, anyway. I'm pretty sure that it really is my favorite romance ever, even though it isn't epic by any means and we never get a kiss. But guuuuuh, they are such adorably bickering soulmates that it is so damn beautiful when Jang finally admits to himself that his feelings for Eun Byul are of a romantic nature. I just love how completely lost he is without her, how his life falls apart and has no real meaning after they're kept apart the first time, and then the second time he is just depressed and going through the motions, trying to get used to living life without her (but then he runs away with her because he can't bear the thought of losing her for good and it's so utterly beautiful how they are still them, only slightly more intimate, allowing themselves the hand touches and them rough housing with each other in the water and him giving her a piggy back ride and them holding hands as they fall asleep and GUH, I LOVE THEM SO FREAKING MUCH). I still find the ending a little far-fetched though. These are two people who couldn't deal with one day of not seeing each other (and this was before they both realized that they were in love), so now I'm supposed to believe that they went FOUR YEARS without even contacting each other? Psh. But then again, he did wait for her for four years without really knowing if their love meant the same thing to her as it did to him, so... I guess that makes their romance kind of epic? Anyway, they are super adorable and their romance is full of bickering and manipulation and repressed emotions and inappropriateness, so, it's really not a surprise that I am so very addicted to Eun Byul/Teacher Jang.

Okay. You know, if the show made Gwen/Arthur as epic as this vid made it:
I would probably ship the heck out of them. But, you know, in the actual show, Merlin is there being all epic with Arthur, which makes it hard to appreciate this Arthur/Gwen business. AND THEN THERE'S LANCELOT, BEING ALL DREAMY WITH HIS HYPERBOLIC PICKUP LINES.
Oooooooh, Lancelot, you win every time. Why? Because you've made Gwen feel like a princess right from the start. I think that's what will always, always sway me towards Lancelot/Gwen, even though he only shows up for one episode a season and TOTALLY LEFT LAST TIME WITHOUT SAYING GOODBYE. JERK. And yet, I feel Gwen's love for Lancelot so much more than I feel whatever it is that she feels for Arthur. I am so, so sorry Arthur, but at least you still have Merlin, right? Right? RIGHT?

I just finished the third book of The Immortals series. SO MUCH SUBTEXT, HOLY CRAP. DAINE IS NUMAIR'S WEAKNESS. NUMAIR WON'T LEAVE WITHOUT HER. DAINE DESTROYED AN ENTIRE KINGDOM TO AVENGE HIS SUPPOSED DEATH. DAINE WAS TOTALLY JEALOUS OF VARICE. NUMAIR WAS TOTALLY JEALOUS OF KADDAR. NUMAIR CALLED DAINE PRETTY AND WORRIED ABOUT THE DAY SHE'D GET MARRIED. Oh, them. They are in love. Love love love. Also, I kind of ship Daine/Rikash? You know, if Rikash didn't stink of rotting flesh and had man bits instead of bird bits (and if Numair didn't exist), THEY WOULD BE SO AWESOME TOGETHER. I just love how they have this begrudging respect for each other that somehow turned into a begrudging liking of each other where they can even laugh together and think about each other in a way that doesn't involve murder. It's quite lovely! But, you know, Numair is her man.
I am going to go ahead and finish this meme up, because I predict that I will be obsessing over Vampire Diaries come Thursday and Merlin come Saturday and will completely forget about finishing this thing, so:
The 30 Day Community Meme
Day 24 - A scene that made you angry
Honestly, I can't think of one! This show pretty consistently makes me happy. (reading comments to secrets about the show on
fandomsecrets, however, makes me pretty damn angry. Yes, there was more Jeff/Annie wank today. No, I don't understand how the Jeff/Annie fans are such an abomination against humanity. Clearly these people have been in extremely tame fandoms before they got to this one, because I've always felt that this one was nearly wank-free. Heck, even The Office fandom is less tame than this one!)
Day 25 - Something that happened that you wish didn’t
The first few episodes, where Jeff is a total douche who just wants to get into Britta's pants? Yeah, I hated that, and it almost made me quit the show. But then it started utilizing its ensemble and I fell in mad, mad love. Oh, also? I was not fond of The Art of Discourse, namely the duh-off scene. I know that I am in the very small minority on this one, but ugh, I hated that ep so freaking much.
Day 26 - Something that didn’t happen that you wish did
Ever since reading this interview, I've been wondering what it would've been like had they gone with the whole "Let’s do a finale where it seems like we’re playing this love triangle and then just out of left field let’s just try something like Britta goes to his apartment door and opens it up and Annie answers it and it's clear that she was having sex." If the fandom is in this much of an uproar over a kiss, JUST IMAGINE THE INSANITY THAT WOULD COME FROM JEFF/ANNIE SEX. I don't really wish it had gone this way, I'm just curious about the impact that it would have had. With just a kiss, they can still keep Jeff/Annie somewhat innocent and keep playing off of their UST, whereas with the other option it would pretty much be saying, "Hey, we went there, we solved their UST, now we can move on." So, I guess I'm happier with how things actually turned out, but, you know, I AM INTRIGUED.

Day 28 - What you want for Season Two
Epic hilarity. Some Jeff/Annie adorableness (yeah, suck it, f!s commenters!). FIELD TRIP SHENANIGANS. WHY HAVE THEY NOT GONE A FIELD TRIP YET?
Day 29 - What your overall opinion was of Season One
IT WAS SO SUPER EPICALLY AWESOME IN EVERY WAY. Well, it got off to a slow start, but once it hit its stride, it was wonderful. No show does parodies/reference episodes better than this one does.
Day 30 - Whatever tickles your fancy
I'm not forty. I can hear you through the window, morons
( next up on the curriculum... )

Honestly, I can't think of one! This show pretty consistently makes me happy. (reading comments to secrets about the show on

Aug. 30th, 2010 11:44 pm1. I should never read the comments to True Blood secrets, because they are all obscenely full of Bill and Bill/Sookie hate. WHAT THE HELL? Look guys, I know that I am lame. I don't need to be reminded of this during every single True Blood conversation ever. But you know what? I just don't find Eric as awesome when he's with Sookie. I just don't. Also? ASkars is not all that appealing to me. I DON'T FIND HIM TO BE THAT PRETTY, I'M SORRY. I love Eric and all, but I do not think that the True Blood sun rises and sets with him, you know? And Eric/Sookie? The show just fails at selling me on this pairing. I don't feel it from Sookie's side, I don't find their chemistry to be as hot as the show thinks it is, and... well... I'm used to Bill and Sookie's lameness! Don't let Eric get dragged down into the very depths of their epic cheesery! Just don't do it! Bill is meant to be lame and ridiculous and flustered, while Eric is supposed to remain aloof and badass and snarky. I don't care that the books go with Eric/Sookie. If the show fails to develop them, they should not just be haphazardly thrown together simply because the ship happens in the book. I like that Bill/Sookie is the annoying OTP that just won't end. Without it, I don't even know what this show would be. I like their epic moments of cheese and angst. I like their numerous failed attempts at domesticity. I like that Alan Ball has a boner for Bill Compton, because you know what? So do I. I enjoy watching Bill's struggle to constantly do the right thing and seeing it all blow up in his face. I love that Bill gets sweet moments and evil moments and creepy moments and hilarious moments. I love that the show chose to show him in a better light than the books did (though, I haven't read the books, so I'm just going by the fandom here, and the fandom has a very strong bias against Book!Bill for a very specific reason that I am so, so glad that the show chose to throw away). Anyway, what I'm saying is, even though everyone and their mother (mine included) is an ASkars/Eric fangirl, I just... I love Bill. I love him, and I don't think that the fandom gives him enough credit. Seriously, how can so many people hate this tragic dude?
2. MOST EPIC FANVID OF ANYTHING EVER:
"Epic" in every sense of the word. Good god, I don't think I'd ever have the patience to make a 9 minute fanvid. And dang, dudes, this one was fantastic all the way through. I CANNOT STOP WATCHING IT. Oh, boys. Oh, Merlin. IS IT SEPTEMBER 11TH YET?

Day 15 - Favorite Señor Chang moment
CHANG YUN-FAT, BIYATCHES. I love love love Chang (in small doses), and this was by far my favorite moment. He brought the badass, the hilarity, and the insanity. AND HE WAS PARODYING CHOW YUN-FAT. That alone endears him to me forever and ever.
Day 16 - Favorite other/guest character moment
I don't know, I don't know why this is my favorite, but it makes me smile so hard. I think I am just a complete sucker for goofy yet completely sweet serenades. And Vaughn totally won me over in this ep. I kind of hate his "Britta is a B" song, if I'm honest, and it turned me off of the character, but then this happened, and just... it was beautiful, and it made me fall in love with Vaughn, and I so totally didn't mind that Annie/Vaughn opposed my OTP, because, well, THEY ARE SO DAMN CUTE, LOOK AT THEM.
Day 17 - Favorite ship

WIN. SO MUCH WIN. Oh god. Uther is so totally ripped under all that chainmail, you guys. I LOVE IT. MORE THAN I SHOULD.
Also, I spent far too much time this evening watching sappy Merlin/Arthur vids.
Far too much time. I am sad that of all the Merlin/Arthur "Your Guardian Angel" vids, this is the only one that makes me all swoony, AND IT'S THE ONLY UNFINISHED ONE. Not fair, dudes, not fair.
I love the literalness of this one:
But this, by far, is probably one of the greatest things to ever exist in this universe:
I laughed so ridiculously hard at "Judi Dench." Oh god. Also, I will just assume that Morgana is Jane and Uther is Bingley, which is insane, but that's totally what the vid led me to believe.

Merlin - The Last Dragonlord
Dec. 19th, 2009 04:17 pmI don't have much to say about this ep except HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP THAT WAS AWESOME. Oh, Merlin. Oh, Arthur. Oh, Arthur/Merlin. Oh, Gaius! Oh, Uther, you utter bastard, I still can't figure out why I love you so. Oh, Balinor. Oh, Hunith (even though she never actually showed up, and yet her presence was felt in my heart). Oh, Gwen. OH, SIR LEON.
( Some spoilery squee )
Okay, guess I had a touch more to say than I thought I did. Basically, I LOVED THIS EPISODE QUITE A LOT.
And now I have to go shovel the driveway. FUN. (that was sarcasm, just in case you couldn't tell) It is still snowing, by the way.
