I would probably ship the heck out of them. But, you know, in the actual show, Merlin is there being all epic with Arthur, which makes it hard to appreciate this Arthur/Gwen business. AND THEN THERE'S LANCELOT, BEING ALL DREAMY WITH HIS HYPERBOLIC PICKUP LINES.

Oooooooh, Lancelot, you win every time. Why? Because you've made Gwen feel like a princess right from the start. I think that's what will always, always sway me towards Lancelot/Gwen, even though he only shows up for one episode a season and TOTALLY LEFT LAST TIME WITHOUT SAYING GOODBYE. JERK. I just finished the third book of The Immortals series. SO MUCH SUBTEXT, HOLY CRAP. DAINE IS NUMAIR'S WEAKNESS. NUMAIR WON'T LEAVE WITHOUT HER. DAINE DESTROYED AN ENTIRE KINGDOM TO AVENGE HIS SUPPOSED DEATH. DAINE WAS TOTALLY JEALOUS OF VARICE. NUMAIR WAS TOTALLY JEALOUS OF KADDAR. NUMAIR CALLED DAINE PRETTY AND WORRIED ABOUT THE DAY SHE'D GET MARRIED. Oh, them. They are in love. Love love love. Also, I kind of ship Daine/Rikash? You know, if Rikash didn't stink of rotting flesh and had man bits instead of bird bits (and if Numair didn't exist), THEY WOULD BE SO AWESOME TOGETHER. I just love how they have this begrudging respect for each other that somehow turned into a begrudging liking of each other where they can even laugh together and think about each other in a way that doesn't involve murder. It's quite lovely! But, you know, Numair is her man.

Honestly, I can't think of one! This show pretty consistently makes me happy. (reading comments to secrets about the show on fandomsecrets, however, makes me pretty damn angry. Yes, there was more Jeff/Annie wank today. No, I don't understand how the Jeff/Annie fans are such an abomination against humanity. Clearly these people have been in extremely tame fandoms before they got to this one, because I've always felt that this one was nearly wank-free. Heck, even The Office fandom is less tame than this one!)

Day 25 - Something that happened that you wish didn’t

The first few episodes, where Jeff is a total douche who just wants to get into Britta's pants? Yeah, I hated that, and it almost made me quit the show. But then it started utilizing its ensemble and I fell in mad, mad love. Oh, also? I was not fond of The Art of Discourse, namely the duh-off scene. I know that I am in the very small minority on this one, but ugh, I hated that ep so freaking much.

Day 26 - Something that didn’t happen that you wish did

Ever since reading this interview, I've been wondering what it would've been like had they gone with the whole "Let’s do a finale where it seems like we’re playing this love triangle and then just out of left field let’s just try something like Britta goes to his apartment door and opens it up and Annie answers it and it's clear that she was having sex." If the fandom is in this much of an uproar over a kiss, JUST IMAGINE THE INSANITY THAT WOULD COME FROM JEFF/ANNIE SEX. I don't really wish it had gone this way, I'm just curious about the impact that it would have had. With just a kiss, they can still keep Jeff/Annie somewhat innocent and keep playing off of their UST, whereas with the other option it would pretty much be saying, "Hey, we went there, we solved their UST, now we can move on." So, I guess I'm happier with how things actually turned out, but, you know, I AM INTRIGUED.

It's odd, but I like to pretend I multi-ship but most of the time it's so superficial that they fade away. It happened in House, in CSI, in all these other fandoms. I had my OTP for the show, and the other couple was just there, beckoning me but I had my hands full, too busy playing naughtily with my OTP. And then they just fade into the background. Thank you so much. I...don't even know what to say. I just love words, and while I don't believe that your entries are drivel (AT ALL), they have honest substance. I not necessarily seek but sometimes overly use words for aesthetic purposes. It doesn't cheapen it, but sometimes my desire for beauty can trump the...reality(?) of it.

Oh, AND I FORGOT TO COMMENT ON THE BULK OF THIS COMMENT. I am kind of the same way with my multi-shipping. My OTP takes over my brain so fully that I don't really pay attention to anyone else even though I very much have secondary ships, but Merlin is one of those rare shows where, yeah, my OTP takes up about 90% of my brain, but I still reserve about 8% for Merlin/Arthur and 2% for everyone else. But the Gwen/Lancelot ep in season 2 is so spectacularly beautiful that it leaves me with feelings every time. OH, LANCELOT, A.K.A. SIR DREAMY OF HANDSOME-A-LOT. I love that I love watching all of the ships on this show (even Morgana/Arthur has grown on me a bit).

CSI: Sara/Grissom (too forced FOR ME. Not bashing anyone who likes 'em.)
HOUSE: Cameron/House (again, too forced and didn't make sense. She should have shacked up with Wilson. JUST SAYING.)

BUT YEAH. Other than that? It's a given. BECAUSE IT IS SO WRONG AND SO RIGHT. LIKE ALL MY SHIPS (except for Sam/Jack and House/Cuddy which are my canonical faves and I squish them) BUT OH MY GOSH. To Kill a King? Just the way Uther breathes: "Forgive me, Morgana," and carries on with his speech? Protection, admiration, affection, love...EVERYTHING pours from him with unsaid words. Everything is bottled in him cupping her cheek, and then opening his arms and billowing cloak and the red and green contrasting colours...just...ALKSDLKFSJLKSJ!

I hated Sara/Grissom, I was sooo against that. I kinda like Catherine/Grissom, but noooo.

And lol, HUDDY, my one canon ship. Though it’s sad that the season it became canon, my interest died down. Because if they’d gotten together a season ago, I’d’ve been all over it, or even if they’d gotten together this season, awesome- except for one thing: LUCAS. I’m sorry, but a ship is dead to me as soon as one character is over the other to the point they’ve gotten together with a new partner, they’ve moved in with said partner, that person is a surrogate parent to their adopted kid and then they get frakking engaged. Because to go through all that, to be that committed to them and then STILL HAVE FEELINGS FOR ANOTHER PERSON just pisses me off. It’s enormously unfair.

And as much as I loved Huddy for five seasons, no, by that point, I just hated the writers. I guess…I’m happy they’re together, so yay, but the way it transpired was, in my eyes, quite terrible. She broke his heart for a season before they got together, then she broke Lucas’s, yeah, um, no. Ugh.

I love the way that To Kill a King is one of the shippiest eps and IT’S ALL ON THE BACKGROUND OF MORGANA PLOTTING TO KILL HIM. Bwahaha! I love that detail with the cloaks that you pointed out, lol. Billowing cloaks are my weakness, and then with the undertones of HP… Win!

She is now a month old! And only about 9 pounds at this point (and that was with a blanket and a diaper on, so she probably actually weighs a little less). She is totally the runt of our family. Usually the babies in our family weigh more than that when they're born (well, not "usually", we've all weighed more than that when we were born).

Well in all honestly, it was WAAY more about Charlie Crews than it ever was about The Damian. The Damian was just a between season substitute for Charlie.

I think honestly the reason I had such an easy time making fun of The Damian was that he WAS such a douche and part of me hated him for not being more like Charlie Crews. I still have a HUGE crush on Charlie. Always will. Just too bad NBC killed him. Sigh.

I never bought into A/G. I think they capitalized on it being canon in the legends without making it viable in the series. Like, there's so much depth and weight to their relationship in history that they short-cutted to the romance without explaining or showing why they would be great together. Ugh.

And in terms of loyal servants with whom Arthur has a deep bond and mutual affection and flirty vibe with, I would think Merlin pwns Gwen. Not a slasher, but dear god, the anvils.

Arthur has so much to contend with, all this politics and his father and his kingdom, and it's not his fault, but he has that baggage that keeps him from being able to fully commit- that's even BEFORE we get to what he thinks of her or what he's willing to admit to himself. OMG! BRAIN TWIN, HAI THAR! I felt this as well! Was it the third when he was chilling on the rails and she turned up and was all distrustful and they snarked at each other a bit? I do enjoy their relationship- from enemies to reluctant allies and then almost friends. I love when friendships are as rewarding and satisfying as romantic relationships, because their interaction was so wonderful to read and it was just so well developed. ^_^

6. That's kind of... unfortunate. I mean, I get it because I think it was the show I posted about most consistently last season, mostly because I had a lot of ~feelings about it. I'm not sure how actively I'll be watching this season. Oh who am I kidding? I'll probably stick with it if only to be righteously indignant about it.
