You know, if the show made Gwen/Arthur as epic as this vid made it:

I would probably ship the heck out of them. But, you know, in the actual show, Merlin is there being all epic with Arthur, which makes it hard to appreciate this Arthur/Gwen business. AND THEN THERE'S LANCELOT, BEING ALL DREAMY WITH HIS HYPERBOLIC PICKUP LINES.

Oooooooh, Lancelot, you win every time. Why? Because you've made Gwen feel like a princess right from the start. I think that's what will always, always sway me towards Lancelot/Gwen, even though he only shows up for one episode a season and TOTALLY LEFT LAST TIME WITHOUT SAYING GOODBYE. JERK. And yet, I feel Gwen's love for Lancelot so much more than I feel whatever it is that she feels for Arthur. I am so, so sorry Arthur, but at least you still have Merlin, right? Right? RIGHT?

I just finished the third book of The Immortals series. SO MUCH SUBTEXT, HOLY CRAP. DAINE IS NUMAIR'S WEAKNESS. NUMAIR WON'T LEAVE WITHOUT HER. DAINE DESTROYED AN ENTIRE KINGDOM TO AVENGE HIS SUPPOSED DEATH. DAINE WAS TOTALLY JEALOUS OF VARICE. NUMAIR WAS TOTALLY JEALOUS OF KADDAR. NUMAIR CALLED DAINE PRETTY AND WORRIED ABOUT THE DAY SHE'D GET MARRIED. Oh, them. They are in love. Love love love. Also, I kind of ship Daine/Rikash? You know, if Rikash didn't stink of rotting flesh and had man bits instead of bird bits (and if Numair didn't exist), THEY WOULD BE SO AWESOME TOGETHER. I just love how they have this begrudging respect for each other that somehow turned into a begrudging liking of each other where they can even laugh together and think about each other in a way that doesn't involve murder. It's quite lovely! But, you know, Numair is her man.

I am going to go ahead and finish this meme up, because I predict that I will be obsessing over Vampire Diaries come Thursday and Merlin come Saturday and will completely forget about finishing this thing, so:

Day 24 - A scene that made you angry

Honestly, I can't think of one! This show pretty consistently makes me happy. (reading comments to secrets about the show on [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets, however, makes me pretty damn angry. Yes, there was more Jeff/Annie wank today. No, I don't understand how the Jeff/Annie fans are such an abomination against humanity. Clearly these people have been in extremely tame fandoms before they got to this one, because I've always felt that this one was nearly wank-free. Heck, even The Office fandom is less tame than this one!)

Day 25 - Something that happened that you wish didn’t

The first few episodes, where Jeff is a total douche who just wants to get into Britta's pants? Yeah, I hated that, and it almost made me quit the show. But then it started utilizing its ensemble and I fell in mad, mad love. Oh, also? I was not fond of The Art of Discourse, namely the duh-off scene. I know that I am in the very small minority on this one, but ugh, I hated that ep so freaking much.

Day 26 - Something that didn’t happen that you wish did

Ever since reading this interview, I've been wondering what it would've been like had they gone with the whole "Let’s do a finale where it seems like we’re playing this love triangle and then just out of left field let’s just try something like Britta goes to his apartment door and opens it up and Annie answers it and it's clear that she was having sex." If the fandom is in this much of an uproar over a kiss, JUST IMAGINE THE INSANITY THAT WOULD COME FROM JEFF/ANNIE SEX. I don't really wish it had gone this way, I'm just curious about the impact that it would have had. With just a kiss, they can still keep Jeff/Annie somewhat innocent and keep playing off of their UST, whereas with the other option it would pretty much be saying, "Hey, we went there, we solved their UST, now we can move on." So, I guess I'm happier with how things actually turned out, but, you know, I AM INTRIGUED.

Day 27 - Favorite cast image

Day 28 - What you want for Season Two

Epic hilarity. Some Jeff/Annie adorableness (yeah, suck it, f!s commenters!). FIELD TRIP SHENANIGANS. WHY HAVE THEY NOT GONE A FIELD TRIP YET?

Day 29 - What your overall opinion was of Season One

IT WAS SO SUPER EPICALLY AWESOME IN EVERY WAY. Well, it got off to a slow start, but once it hit its stride, it was wonderful. No show does parodies/reference episodes better than this one does.

Day 30 - Whatever tickles your fancy

I'm not forty. I can hear you through the window, morons

Question. Why is it so damn hard to find OT3 icons of Stefan/Elena/Damon? Heck, just finding good Stefan and Stefan/Elena icons is wicked hard. Clearly the fandom preference is Damon/Elena (but the Damon/Elena comm really seems to hate Stefan, and just... I wouldn't be able to take that, so I didn't join, though I may crack soon if I want to read Damon/Elena fic). I only have three eps left of Vampire Diaries, by the way. *cries* This show is so fantastically good that I cannot quite believe it. Every episode is like one big thrill ride and I cannot get enough. I like that it goes for more of a horror/thriller style than a comedy style, gives it a very different feel from shows like Buffy and True Blood (though it still has its fair share of comedy, which is lovely), and the execution of the plot is beyond amazing (I am so not used to that with vampire shows). The further into the show I get, the more I OT3 the heck out of Stefan, Elena, and Damon. I just can't see how you can ship one without the other, it just can't be done (or, it can, judging from the very insistent Damon/Elena comm), but, you know, Elena can't be in a relationship with Stefan without Damon being boyfriendly with her too, and, well, Elena isn't crazy enough to go off and have a relationship with Damon and completely forget about Stefan. Just not going to happen (and, despite Damon's careless demeanor, he really can't live without his baby brother). I must say though that the later eps of season 1 have me really falling for Damon/Elena. I think the moment that sold me was Damon looking into Elena's eyes and desperately telling her that he couldn't protect her and rescue Stefan if she went in with him, and he did this little hair stroke that seemed to comfort her, and it was beautiful and amazing and so very human and even Saltzman could see that Damon has very real feelings for Elena. And as if that wasn't enough, they made me positively swoon during their dance at the Miss Mystic Falls thingy, so, yeah, I'm sold on them, definitely. I wasn't sure if I could be swayed for awhile there since Damon was so genuinely in love with Katherine (which made me think he only had a superficial interest in Elena), but after the tomb episode, it became clear that Damon really does have this weird, trusting relationship with her where she truly has become important to him, and somehow it seems so natural that Elena seems equally protective over Damon even though she knows he kills people without a second thought. So, definitely an interesting relationship there. And clearly Elena's love is with Stefan, but she's got this whole other thing with Damon that is becoming as equally intense and somehow he's been more dependable for her than Stefan has, which is just insanity. I don't know, I don't know. I guess I lean more towards Elena/Damon shipping-wise, but at the same time, Stefan and Elena have that epic love thing happening for them, and unlike most vampire love stories, this one is actually kind of healthy? Or at least it was until Stefan got addicted to human blood again... I don't know. OT3 FOREVER, BECAUSE I SIMPLY CANNOT CHOOSE. And because Damon and Stefan's relationship is quite epic in its own right, therefore it cannot just be pushed aside in the name of romance. OT3!

Anywho, it's kind of interesting how this fandom and the True Blood fandom are so very against the broody reformed vampire (and even the Buffy fandom is to an extent, though Angel is far more popular than Bill and Stefan, but the Buffy generation seems to have convinced the younger generation that it's cool to fall for the ridiculously violent yet charmingly snarky badboy vampires while it's just so totally lame to like the broody ones. Because UGH, who wants to be around a buzz kill like that, am I right? And yet millions and millions of young girls cream their pants over Edward Cullen, the lamest of the lame broody vampires. Had there been an Eric or a Damon or a Spike in that series, Edward would be far less popular than he is. His only competition (from my understanding) is that Jacob werewolf fellow, who seems as equally lame as Edward is, so I'm not surprised that they seem to have an equal amount of fans). But... yeah, in the case of Vampire Diaries, I have so totally fallen for the ridiculously violent snarky badboy vampire, but only because he is utterly delightful and beautiful beyond words. Lookswise, Stefan just doesn't appeal to me, so... that might be part of it. Shallowness prevails! But I still ♥ Stefan and his (mostly) steadfast determination to live without hurting any humans. He tries so hard, and he's all gentlemanly and sweet and lovely and understanding, but he's also got this serious badass in him that he keeps hidden away and I freaking love him. But Damon... oh do I love Damon and his wicked, wicked ways. But I think what really makes Damon a sympathetic character is that we get these tiny glimpses into his humanity, and he's so... fragile when he actually feels things. Guh, I love him.

I am in love with The Vampire Diaries, is what I'm trying to say.

The 30 Day Shipping Meme
Day 28 - A pairing that you will never understand?

I think this one goes to House/Cuddy. No matter how hard I've tried in the past to see its appeal, I just don't get it. My f-list loves them, and, you know, on paper they are pretty much everything I love in a ship, but I just don't feel the chemistry at all, and more often than not their behavior towards each other offends me rather than excites me. For many seasons I saw nothing there but House wanting to get into her pants and being obscene about it, and Cuddy very intelligently refusing his advances, but somewhere along the way Cuddy got giggly over him and House suddenly had deep-seated emotions for her and the shoddy writing just made me want to puke. I just... I DON'T GET IT. I've tried so hard, I've read my f-list's lovely picspams and manifestos and what have you, I've watched their vids, and yet... House/Cuddy still fails to make sense to me. I think it will forever fail, mostly because the show has tried to make them out as the epic love story but had to retcon the first two seasons in order to do it, and when shows do that, it never sits well with me. But I think it mainly comes down to chemistry, and chemistry is such a subjective thing that I can't say that they don't have it, it's just that they lack the chemistry that appeals to me.

1x22 - The Art of Discourse

To begin with, Jeff/Britta and Pierce/Shirley are my least favorite team-ups on this show, and this ep focused heavily on both. Secondly, even the Troy/Abed stuff fell flat for me, and that never happens, so, that bummed me out. Mostly though, I abhorred that stupid duh-off scene in the cafeteria. Hated it with a burning passion, worst thing this show has ever done. Just... ugh, I really hated this ep. It was very disjointed and the jokes were tiring and it didn't have enough ensemble scenes. This show just doesn't work right if you split up the ensemble like that. Worst offense of all? There was barely any Annie. So, two thumbs down to this stinking episode.

What song are you currently addicted to?

Which, naturally, reminds me of Jeff/Annie, because I am currently obsessed with them. No, but really, I have had this master plan for awhile now to make a Jeff/Annie drabble fanmix (you know, where you write a drabble for each song on the fanmix), and this idea was mostly perpetuated by this song, but, you know, I fail at following through with things, so I doubt that said drabble fanmix will ever be completed, but one can dream, right? (pfft, no one would like my mix anyway since I would stubbornly make it mostly country songs)

You know, I typically mock boybands (because I'm a buzzkill like that), and yet I just spent like two hours on YouTube watching Il Divo videos (and Il Divo is basically a boyband for middle-aged housewives). But they make it look so classy!

See? And they sing Amazing Grace accompanied by bagpipes! And they sing All by Myself in Spanish! And they sing ABBA songs in some language that I'm not sure of! And look, Hallelujah in Spanish! I find the Spanish dude strangely alluring, by the way.

Marshall and Lily Erikson, aka the cutest couple to ever grace television. They manage to be romantic in this very understated, real way that is simply beautiful to watch. They're responsible for getting me so wrapped up in seasons 1 and 2 of HIMYM (and oh man did I love their wedding episode, particularly the bit where Lily barfs into a trashcan and Marshall looks at her so fondly as he says "That's my wife." ♥).

The 30 Day TV Meme
Day 01 - A show that should have never been canceled

And lastly, the link to my favorite fanvid of all time, which sadly is not on YouTube nor is it embeddable, so, you have to go directly to it (and this one actually gives the best feel for the show).

Augh, I miss this show so damn much. It was beautiful, and exciting, and hilarious, and awesome, and tragic, and wonderful. I am the first to admit that season 2 was inconsistent and quite lousy as a whole, but I blame that mostly on network tinkering (plus, the show would have worked better as a half season show rather than a whole one, which stretched out storylines that didn't need stretching). The network messed up a really good thing, when all they really had to do was advertise it better. They had no clue how to market such a unique show, therefore they tried to make it more like your typical procedural and sexed it up a bit, and that just... didn't fit in with this show. At all. There was nothing typical about it, nor was it ever about sex, so... eff you, NBC. But the characters were still delightful and the relationships were still complex and beautifully subtle (well, the relationships between the original characters, not the added ones). And, when the network decided to cancel the show and stopped interfering, guess what? The show got back to its awesome self and delivered a spectacular ending, possibly the greatest finale of anything ever. This was once the greatest show on television, and it will always have a special place in my heart. Everyone should at least experience season 1 of Life, because that's what it was, an experience. Oh how I miss this show. God, now I am all nostalgic and will probably pull out my DVDs and marathon my favorite eps (or else I will just watch the season 1 finale a billion and one times, and then the season 2 finale even more than that).

HOW IS THIS MAN SO BEAUTIFUL?

And just so that this post isn't completely pointless, MEME!

Pick twenty (or so, I am too lazy to think of that many) artistic works that you like and list their summaries from Better Than It Sounds. Have your friends guess the title of the work that each summary belongs to WITHOUT CHEATING.

Most of these are probably way too obvious )

And I will stop there, because I want to get back to watching My Beautiful Latin Lover.

Ugh, TWoP is depressing me. I was reading the Parks and Rec thread and every single mention of Leslie/Ron is followed with, "But I don't ship them in any way. That would be gross. They're like Jack/Liz 2.0." UGH, YOU STUPID PEOPLE! Why is it that a TV romance is never allowed to be built around an emotional bond? At least, not on my shows. They have to have very obvious UST right from the start or else people will shout that it's gross to put them together. I just... I DO NOT GET THIS. The one that especially made me laugh was the person saying that they love that Ron and Leslie are like the old married couple of the office, but they should never get together because that would just be wrong. Mmmhmm. UGH. FANDOM, I HATE YOU. And I hate that writers actually pay attention to TWoP, because more often than not I am just in total disagreement with those people. Although with Parks and Rec I pretty much agree with them except for this one aspect. Ron/Leslie is a beautiful thing and it should be explored, and they have one of those dynamics that really wouldn't change much even if they were dating/married, because they already act like they are. Of course, that being said, I don't exactly want it explored beyond friendship right now, but later I very much do. Their relationship is constantly being showcased and it grows with each episode, so, if they don't go there in the future, it may very well become stagnant (which, let's be honest, this is what's happened with Jack/Liz. They've grown so close that there's not much left to explore there unless they go in the romance direction, but as we already know, the show's not going there, and the show is kind of suffering for it since it's relied so heavily on the Jack/Liz relationship in past seasons. But at the same time, I am wary of them going there, because very few shows know how to write an established couple that wasn't always established. So, you know, for all my complaining, I do see where they're coming from, it's just that I hate that they won't even consider letting them get together in the very last episode). BUT ANYWAY, I think the Parks and Rec crew could easily pull off a Ron/Leslie established romance in the future. They just seem to get it right in regards to the simplicity of romance on this show. There's no fairytale like Jim and Pam, and everything on this show is so very human that it would have no trouble portraying it in a realistic way as opposed to the soap opera theatrics that The Office (and any other show out there) is fond of. This show seems to have a certain restraint that keeps things from being too over the top (Andy would be the exception here, but they've even toned him down too into a lovable goof, though, honestly, I've always kind of felt that way about him, but he's a lot less over the top now than he used to be).

Anyway, what I'm saying is, I think it's unfair to just dismiss the possibility of a Ron/Leslie ship. If you had asked me at the beginning of season 2 if I thought the show would ever make Ron/Leslie a possibility, I probably would have laughed, because even I thought I was crazy. But now? Oh man, the show has laid such a beautiful foundation that I think it could very well go there in the future if it wanted to. I hate this attitude that romance would ruin ships like Ron/Leslie or Jack/Liz or Daniel/Betty, all of which are the heart of their respective shows, all of which contain two people who know each other better than anyone else and help each other be a better version of themselves/reach their full potential, and all of which have a deep emotional bond that they continuously fail to find with anyone else (mind you, Ron/Leslie has a long way to go before they reach this point, but, same principles). They are best friends, confidants, and everything they are looking for in a romantic partner. So... why do people continuously rage at the thought of them ever becoming more? I just... I hate that. Yes, friendships are great, but when I am watching a relationship on TV that I love become stagnant, I want other possibilities to be explored, I don't want the show to just completely ignore them and try to focus on weaker aspects of the show, because that is usually the point when I become disinterested. But, again, I only want romance to be explored if the show has the balls to do it right. I am realizing now that Ugly Betty probably would have screwed up Daniel/Betty had they ever turned romantic. They just don't have the chops to do romance right, never have, so I should probably count my blessings that it never went there. Am I still bitter? Yes, because Daniel/Betty had so much potential, but long ago I lost my faith in the writers for that show. But with Jack/Liz, they could so pull off dating shenanigans there that would be awesome to watch as long as most of the story still stayed in the office setting and Tracy and Jenna had a freakish level of involvement in Jack and Liz's relationship or something. I don't know, but it could be done, especially since the 30 Rock writers would come up with way better ideas than I just did. As for Leslie/Ron, I think of the three shows, Parks and Rec is the one that could pull it off without a hitch, especially since the show is more of an ensemble show than the other two.

Alright, I didn't mean to ramble in that last paragraph, but, you know what I mean, right? Ron/Leslie should be allowed to be that slow, subtle romance hanging out in the background while Andy/April satisfies everyone who loves the more obviously romantic romances (and that is not me being condescending, because I freaking love Andy/April). I would just love for this show to surprise me and actually pull off a romance that everyone is saying isn't there.

Oh, also, while I was perusing TWoP, I came across this comment, and I thought it summed up my feelings on The Office vs Parks and Rec debate exactly:

S2 of Parks for me is how S2 of The Office is when I look back at it now (with nostalgia) - funny, crazy-consistent, with great characters, except written a little more tightly/smartly, and with more affection for the characters. It makes me happy that I think these differences is what will keep this show afloat where The Office started failing.

But I still totally disagree with their Ron/Leslie comments. RON AND LESLIE ARE MEANT TO BEEEEEEEEE!1!!1! No, but seriously, they are. As are Jack and Liz, damn it!

*sigh*

I know that a lot of people hate BFF ships, but I just don't understand why. Is it weird that in my family everyone's BFF is their spouse? Why is this concept so strange in fandom land? Also, guess what? My parents are opposites whose traits compliment and complete each other, same for my brothers and their wives. So, I also don't get the vehement opposition to ships where opposites complete each other. I don't know. Maybe my family is just one lovely anomaly where people from completely different backgrounds with completely different temperaments share a completely beautiful love for each other (not that it's all kittens and rainbows. There is a lot of butting of heads and some very nasty words said every once in awhile, but, in the end, it's all good. Of course my oldest brother always complains that his wife won't fight with him about anything. Hahahaha, he's frustrated that she's too agreeable! But see, that also charms him. It's the same for my dad in regards to my mom. She may annoy the bejesus out of him, but what frustrates him about her is also what he loves about her, he just has trouble remembering that sometimes).

What ship are you really into right now?
This changes from day to day, but clearly at this very moment I am massively into Ron/Leslie. On a general basis, it's Buffy/Giles and Uther/Morgana.

What's the funnest thing you've done today?
Nothing. I am totally boring today. Although my arm did run into a lot of walls/tables/things today while I was holding a glass of water, but that is such a regular occurrence that I barely even notice it anymore. I think I lack depth perception or something.

ETA: OMG, I totally read that question as asking me what was the funniest thing I did today. *sigh*

Harry Potter or Merlin?
Oh, man. If we are talking fandoms, then obviously Merlin since I never even dared to glance at the Harry Potter fandom, but if we're talking quality and endless years of enjoyment, that would be Harry Potter. But, Harry Potter lacks the hotness that is Uther, so... hmm.

The Tale of Iroh is officially one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life.

I've watched this song at least 5 times now, and I cry harder every time. OH MY GOD. IROH. I wish the entire sequence was on YouTube, because to get the full impact you need to see how utterly wonderful this man is, but even just that little bit is still wicked heartbreaking. He's just so sweet and open and peaceful and ridiculous and aware, and the short showed us all of that, but then it all leads up to this scene that is so beautiful and tragic in its simplicity. I can't get over how successfully this cartoon pulls off Iroh's brokenness in such a subtle way. This was probably the most overt it's been, and GOD was it beautiful. I would certainly rank this with the Carl/Ellie sequence in Up that makes me bawl every time I watch it. Anyway, when the "In honor of Mako" showed up, it hit me that Iroh is probably going to die considering the show went through 2008 and Mako died in 2006. He's going to die, isn't he? And I will probably cry even harder than I did with this scene, won't I? *sigh*

Momo's tale made me cry, too, which is ridiculous, but I never quite realized the depth of his love for Appa until we got that glimpse of his life. The Katara/Toph one also made me tear up a little bit. Oh, Toph. I love her so very much (also... I think I've started shipping her with Sokka? Ack, what is with me and inappropriate ships? But seriously, their banter is epic. I am still in love with Aang/Toph too, though. And Aang/Katara. And Zuko/Katara. And Mai/Zuko. Basically, I went from shipping no one to shipping everyone).

A long while back, probably a year now, actually, when I was obsessing over Repo! The Genetic Opera, I made some animated GIF's of Anthony Head, and I had entitled the entry "Head Porn" and went on to say, "Head porn is the greatest porn of all." [livejournal.com profile] awakencordy got a kick out of that and MADE ME AN ICON OF MY OWN QUOTE! How awesome is that? I will probably never, ever delete this icon, 1) because it speaks the truth, and 2) because someone actually quoticoned me! I love it.

BECAUSE IT'S TOTALLY TRUE. Uther and Morgana have never been more married than in that hall walking scene. Uther is patronizing and Morgana is eye rolly and they're both being snarky and then they're all affectionate with each other and Uther walks away with a big smile, and it just has a very domestic feel to it.

COMMUNITY! This show has a lot of great quotes, but this is by far the most useful one. Well, either this one or "To me, religion is like Paul Rudd. I see the appeal and I would never take it away from anyone, but I would also never stand in line for it." (coincidentally, that is EXACTLY how I feel about Paul Rudd) Anyway, this quote happens in Debate 109 (greatest episode ever), where the basketball team (that's really gay) barges into the gymnasium in the middle of the debate and Professor Whitman turns around and exclaims "By Zeus, what sort of jackassery is this?!" It's pretty hilarious.

Hans motherflippin' Landa. HIS PIPE IS BIGGER THAN YOURS.

BUFFY/GILES!!!! Oh, I could wax poetic about these two ALL NIGHT. But I will try to contain myself. I just really, really love this scene. Giles is getting ready to tell her goodbye, and Buffy has NO IDEA, and he is basically dying inside because he loves her and wants to be a part of her life but he figured out in season 4 that he couldn't be what he wanted to be nor could he be whatever the heck she wanted him to be and their relationship was just one big old undefined mess, and he was feeling useless, and then Buffy starts saying everything he's been thinking and he can barely breathe because he thinks she's telling him goodbye, and then out of blue Buffy says, "I need to know more. About where I come from, about the other slayers. I mean, maybe ... maybe if I could learn to control this thing, I could be stronger, I could be better. But ... I'm scared. I know it's gonna be hard. And I can't do it ... without you. I need your help. (pause) I need you to be my Watcher again," and then he just exhales and is holding in the tears and he has this smile and it's the most beautiful thing in the world. And just like that they are fixed. He's her watcher, she's his slayer, and that's all they need to know. They were so in tune during season 5, so co-dependent, so coupley! It was a beautiful thing. I can't get over how much more boyfriendy Giles was to Buffy than Riley was. Especially any scene where Giles and Buffy were talking to each other on the phone. HIS SMILE, OMG. He was so, so in love. I don't care what anyone says, the man was madly IN LOVE with her and season 5 was the happiest/most at peace Giles that we ever got to see, and it's precisely because he got to be so involved with Buffy, and she treated him as an equal, as her partner, rather than someone to be forgotten or an annoying authority figure.

Speaking of Buffy, I just got around to reading Vol. 5 of the comics, and I have to say that that was the best the comics have been so far, particularly the Buffy/Andrew adventure (this arc was written by Jane Espenson, so it is no surprise that she's written the most delightful Andrew interactions in the whole comic book series). I had already read the Giles/Faith one ages ago since I couldn't wait for the compilation, so, I am still meh about that one, the one where the last watcher (other than Giles) was feeding children to the demon that was keeping the vampires away and he was all "Buffy ignored you for YEARS. It's HER fault that Jenny Calendar died! You mean NOTHING to her!" and Giles is all GRR face but kind of sad because he's felt that he means nothing to Buffy for a long time now and they haven't spoken in forever but he still goes to save Faith and even though he doesn't say it he still loves Buffy more than anything. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE OTHERWISE. And the rest of the arc has so many throwaway moments where people mention Giles around Buffy or do something Giles-ish and she ACTS LIKE HE DOESN'T EXIST. I just translate this to: Giles hurt Buffy when he chose Faith over her, and so now she thinks she means nothing to him, and it's easier to ignore his existence than accept that he doesn't love her anymore. CLEARLY BOTH BUFFY AND GILES ARE DOOFUSES. Why do they never learn that their love for each other is deep and eternal? They may not always understand in what way they love each other, but any way you look at it, there is love there on both sides. AND THEY BOTH REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT. They both just wallow in self-loathing and deem themselves not worthy of the other's love. OH, THEM. I don't think they'll ever learn. But anyway, their separation has been built up in all 5 arcs, so you would think that their reunion in the next arc would be epic (but it's not. From what I read on the internet, it looks like it pretty much gets brushed aside).

Wow dudes, it feels like it's been forever since I've gone on about Buffy/Giles like that.

Dollhouse. Kind of predictable? In a character sense, I mean, not exactly plot-wise.

[livejournal.com profile] zombie_boogie gave me:
