The Five Questions Meme
How this meme works:
1 - Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 - I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 - You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 - You'll include this explanation.
5 - You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

[livejournal.com profile] zombie_boogie asked me:

01. What is the worst book you've ever read?

I don't even know. Usually when I'm not enjoying a book, I just stop reading it. But back in my trashy romance novel days, there was one book that was just awful, and it was called "Prisoner of my Desire" by Johanna Lindsey. Now, Johanna Lindsey is my absolute favorite romance novelist, and this book was written when she was still churning out really great books, but this one just horrified me. I mean, her books can be pretty brutal on a regular basis, but this one was just too much for me. Definitely for BDSM and rape kink people, I think, because the heroine chains up the hero and rapes him repeatedly, and then he does the same to her, and it's just really messed up. And gross. No matter how many times I try to get past the first few chapters, I just can't. And what shocks me is that people either love this book a ridiculous amount, or else they loathe it just as much as I do. None of her books have ever been that polarizing before. That being said, it wasn't badly written by any means, it's just that the subject matter was way too disturbing for me.

02. What would you like to happen on the upcoming series of Merlin?

Well, clearly Uther and Morgana need to do it, because I am 100% certain that if they just worked out their sexual frustrations with each other they'd be much happier people. And they'd stop trying to kill each other. Maybe. I WANT TO SEE THEM HAVE A RIDICULOUSLY HOT MAKEOUT SESSION, OKAY? The same goes for Merlin and Arthur.

03. You get your letter to Hogwarts! Where do you think you'd be sorted and why?

Oh, Hufflepuff, no doubt about it. I am easy-going and well-meaning most of the time, I am a bit bumbling, and I am the biggest underachiever that you will ever come across. People love me, but it ain't for my achievements.

04. You get to erase one season of any television series. What season and what series? What would you have had happen instead?

Oh, gosh, I have to pick just one? I guess... season 3 of Psych, because I really cannot recall one episode that I truly enjoyed. I can't stand angsty Shawn, and that season had way too much of that. Also, Shawn/Juliet bugs the hell out of me because the writers have gone about it all wrong. What would I have happen instead? Basically, keep the show fun and leave out the angst, like seasons 1 and 2 were doing (and also, I would have continued subtly developing Lassiter/Juliet romantically, because season 2 SO established that Lassiter had a thing for Juliet and she SO did not disapprove).

I would also erase season 3 of Monk, because they messed up Sharona and then got rid of her, and also season 3 of Ugly Betty, because it was bland beyond comprehension. I guess I am not fond of season 3s?

05. What upcoming film release are you most looking forward to?

IRONMAN 2. And I am hoping that Tony/Pepper will make me fall in love with them all over again.

The 30 Day TV Meme
Day 01 - A show that should have never been canceled

And lastly, the link to my favorite fanvid of all time, which sadly is not on YouTube nor is it embeddable, so, you have to go directly to it (and this one actually gives the best feel for the show).

Augh, I miss this show so damn much. It was beautiful, and exciting, and hilarious, and awesome, and tragic, and wonderful. I am the first to admit that season 2 was inconsistent and quite lousy as a whole, but I blame that mostly on network tinkering (plus, the show would have worked better as a half season show rather than a whole one, which stretched out storylines that didn't need stretching). The network messed up a really good thing, when all they really had to do was advertise it better. They had no clue how to market such a unique show, therefore they tried to make it more like your typical procedural and sexed it up a bit, and that just... didn't fit in with this show. At all. There was nothing typical about it, nor was it ever about sex, so... eff you, NBC. But the characters were still delightful and the relationships were still complex and beautifully subtle (well, the relationships between the original characters, not the added ones). And, when the network decided to cancel the show and stopped interfering, guess what? The show got back to its awesome self and delivered a spectacular ending, possibly the greatest finale of anything ever. This was once the greatest show on television, and it will always have a special place in my heart. Everyone should at least experience season 1 of Life, because that's what it was, an experience. Oh how I miss this show. God, now I am all nostalgic and will probably pull out my DVDs and marathon my favorite eps (or else I will just watch the season 1 finale a billion and one times, and then the season 2 finale even more than that).
