Dude, that was ridiculous fun.  I think my favorite meme ship was Dani Reese/Carlton Lassiter.  Or possibly Charlie Crews/Carlton Lassiter.  I don't think I have a least favorite, because they all rocked.

I've been seeing that riddler picture on F!S just about every day, and it never once occurred to me that he looked like Damian.  I feel ashamed now.  But anyway, my D-crotch icon is fitting, because Damian totally has the balls to play an awesome Batman villain.  And... if he wears the spandex like Jim Carrey did?  I'd be in bulge heaven.  But... I'm pretty sure he'd go with the green suit.  Which would be classier, but still... BULGE!

Also, secret number 171 is a Sam/Fi secret.  Dude, that so doesn't have to be kept a secret.  BE PROUD OF YOUR SAM/FI LOVE!  Sadly, all the comments are saying crap like, "Ewwww, he's too old for her.  He should get with Michael's mom."  Which... just... no.  No, fandom_secrets commenters, that's just... blech.  He belongs in a car with Fi impressing her with his sensitive side, okay?  Plus, they are almost always playing boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife when they have to have cover personalities.  Only once did he play her father, and he was kind of insulted by it, but then they were all flirty with each other afterwards which proves she did that just to bug him.  So... Sam/Fi = YESYESYESYESOMGSOHOTYESPLEASE!  Sam/Michael's Mom = Oh good lord no.  She views him as Michael's little friend, so it just wouldn't be right.  Not that either one of the ships would ever happen.  But Sam and Fi often seem like they're close to jumping each other, which... is probably just the actors having wicked awesome chemistry, because the stupid writers are stuck on Michael/Fi.  Ugh.  You all know how I feel about Michael and women.  No chemistry whatsoever.  He belongs with Perry.  Too bad he killed him. :'(  By the way, all the commenters on that vid think I'm a dude.  Is that good or bad?  I'm shocked people like it though, it's so damn ridiculous.  Honestly, my mind boggles itself.

I'm thinking of revisiting my Forsyte Saga picspamming.  I never did finish picspamming series 1, and a few people have been talking about Soames, which is making me want to watch the show all over again.  And, I've had the screencaps from ep 5 wasting away in my photobucket since April, so I should do something with them, right?  But it's been ages.  I may have lost my lovingly mocking of Forsyte Saga touch.  But I have to talk about Damian dancing with the dress, right?  And practically dry humping it on the bed?  And him breaking my heart into a gazillion pieces as he begs for the one last chance that he never got?  Oh god, his whimpering, it kills me.  Kills me!  SOAMES!!!  So, if I'm still in the mood on the weekend, I might do that.  Although, I'm really hoping that my Life DVDs will ship extra early and I'll have them for the weekend.  I'm not counting on it, but a girl can dream.  Odds are they probably won't arrive until two weeks after the release date, because that's the kind of luck I have with these things.

Also, 15PPB, I MISS YOU TERRIBLY!  STOP GAMBLING AND COME HOME ALREADY!  No one will perv over Damian with me.

I ordered the book version of The Forsyte Saga and it just arrived!  And Damian's on the cover!!!  SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!  It's frickin' HUGE, 878 pages (it's 3 books and one short story all in one, though).  Paid a total of $4.00 ($.01 for the book and $3.99 for shipping).  Man.  I remember when I was going through my Pride & Prejudice phase I paid $15.00 (plus shipping) just to get the version of the book with Colin on the cover (at the time the books being printed all had Keira Knightly and that other Darcy on the cover, so the Colin ones were hard to find).  Luckily the companion cover to the Damian Lewis production of The Forsyte Saga is quite abundant.  SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!  I can't wait to see all the differences between the book and the series.  As I was looking to see how many pages the book contained, my eyes gandered over a sentence or two and I already didn't like one of the differences, but I'll have to see it in context before I judge.

Also, I'm mad at Netflix.  They are being unusually slow, and I am now going through Damian withdrawal.  They conditioned me to expect a new DVD(s) every other day, and now it's been... TWO days!  Come on Netflix!  You're killing me!  Okay... drama queen, but I swear it feels like it's been longer than 2 days.

I have a whole lot of unpopular opinions, so have at it!  The majority of my fandoms are listed in my interests if you need a refresher of what I'm into.

OH MY GOD!!!!  PERFECT ENDING EVER!!!!  Well, the last scene anyway.  Although, I think I liked the ending to series 1 more, but this ending allowed Soames to completely redeem himself and let him walk away with a little dignity.  SO BEAUTIFUL!!!  All that I'd change is, less Jon/Fleur, and a whole lot more Soames/June.  Hee.  COME ON!  THEY'RE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER!  WHY DID GALSWORTHY NOT SEE THAT?  Psh.  Oh, and I would have loved a little more interaction between Soames and Irene, too, because as much as I hate Irene, I love how she brings out such passion in Soames, but I think the lack of Soames/Irene interaction made that last scene all the more sweeter.  But really, I was so incredibly sick of Jon/Fleur in these last two eps that I was so happy with the way that things turned out.  Plus, I'm not one for sickeningly sweet happy endings, so... that probably adds to my love of the ending to their story.

I just want to give a big THANK YOU to all who have been commenting on my picspams. It's nice to know that they're being enjoyed, and it gives me an excuse to keep doing them. I also love the fact that you all seem to view the characters (most of all Soames) the same way that I do. I honestly thought that something was wrong with me for feeling absolutely no sympathy towards Irene, and being completely unaffected by the Irene/Bosinney love story. Also, I love that I'm not the only one who totally digs June/Soames. OMG, THEY ARE COMPLETE SOULMATES! WHY ARE THEY NOT TOGETHER? I'm only halfway through series 2 right now, but they really upped the June/Soames vibes, so much so that I am absolutely convinced that they were made for each other. I don't even care anymore that they're cousins. I haven't read the book, so I have no clue if they end up together, but they should (although I doubt that they do) [They don't :'( ] Irene's story mirrored Young Jolyon, and they ended up together, June and Soames are mirrors of each other (in story and personality), therefore they should get to end up together. Why do I bring this up? Because episode 4 is what really escalated my love of June/Soames. I was already feeling it, but the funeral scene in this ep gets my heart racing every time I watch it. They are just so absolutely wonderful together, and I wish that they had more scenes with each other. I'm not sure if the slightly sexual chemistry between them was done on purpose or if it was just the actors, but either way, I love it. For some reason, when Soames interacts with June, he really treats her like an equal, and I can't think of anyone else that he does that with. Even after she tears him down (which she pretty much does every time they talk with each other), instead of getting steaming angry like he does with everyone else, he actually listens to what she says, and she manages to make him reevaluate himself, and she basically opens his eyes to reality. Is she a bit harsh during the funeral scene? Well... yeah, but for some reason I don't blame her. She made him acknowledge his own faults, which is something that he needed to do. Now, I mostly blame Irene for everything, but poor Soames made some very bad moves, and he needed to realize that. There were faults on both sides. Anyway, on with the show! I warn you that there will be a whole lot of focus on June/Soames, because I'm crazy. Oh, if you need a refresher: Ep1, Ep 2, Ep 3.

So lately I've been all Damian this Damian that, Forsyte Saga is the greatest (which it is, you all should watch it), so I figured it was time for a couple memes.  I know I'm taking a gamble with these since my f-list has practically been dead (seriously, where are all you guys?  If your f-lists are as dead as mine, all you will see on your list is firthgal firthgal firthgal, most likely all talking about The Forsyte Saga).

Anyway, quick update on real life:

1. I've had a sore throat for three days straight and have been drinking a buttload of tea.  Sadly, all it does is burn my tongue and make me forget about my throat for 2 minutes, but hey, I'll take it.

2. It's hot outside.  In the 70s, which for here is spring, but for my Ohio-born body is summer, so I am overheating like crazy, which makes me crabby.  After 9 years in MD and 4 years here you'd think I'd be used to the warmer climate, but obviously not.  I will NOT be one of those people who moves to Florida when they get old.

3. I took my car in for the state inspection.  I don't think they actually checked it, I think they just put a bunch of check marks on a piece of paper and then parked my car for an hour. (see, I told you the warm weather makes me crabby)

4. My throat hurrrrrrrrrrts. :'(

Episode 3!!!!!!  We see Soames at his cruelest, a whole lot of fornicating, a bloody death, a cat fight, and pervy bloomer sniffing.  SUCH A GOOD EPISODE!  If you need a refresher, check out the ep 1 and ep 2 picspams.

Okay, I've finally gotten to see the end of series 1 of The Forsyte Saga, and OMG, IT WAS BETTER THAN ANYTHING I COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED!!! Seriously folks, RENT THIS SERIES! It is so incredibly good, especially if you enjoy complicated villains who are so terribly pathetic that they aren't really villains. In fact, Soames Forsyte really reminds me of a red-headed, pale version of Guy of Gisborne, so all you folks on my f-list who are touting the wonders of Guy's social ineptitude and undying love of Marian, check out Soames! He's missing the leather, but he's the definition of social ineptitude, and his love for Irene forever torments him. There are differences, of course. Like Soames' love brings out the devil in him, while Guy's love brings out his sensitive side...

Anyway, the ending to series 1 was so much more than I could have hoped for. I'm actually kind of bummed that there's a series 2, because this ending was SO PERFECT! I was really expecting a happy ending for all, because that seems to be the typical ending for these BBC productions, but instead they gave me the bittersweet ending that I had been hoping for. Not exactly happy, but not tragic either, and just with one facial expression at the very end, Soames basically redeems himself for everything that he did (and this is ALL due to DAMIAN!!!). HE BROUGHT ME TO TEARS, THAT'S HOW MUCH HE TOUCHED MY SOUL! OMG! Pictures will be included at the end of this post, so that you all can see why he made me cry. It was so sweet! But of course, I plan to do a huge picspam of this ep later complete with my own inserted dialog and commentary, but not until after I do eps 3-5 (Eps 1 and 2 picspams, for your viewing pleasure). But I want to get my thoughts down about the series as a whole.


My love for Damian and his absolute brilliance grows more and more every day.

Oh, I can't wait for this ep! It's going to be hilarious. I know that most people are excited for Dinner Party instead, but I so miss the episodes that centered on THE OFFICE instead of everywhere else. Don't get me wrong though, I've adored season 4 like crazy, but sometimes I long for the simplicity of the old days, when it was purely about people getting through another boring day at the office and trying not to murder their annoying coworkers. And this episode sounds like it's a little reminiscent of that. OMG, CAN'T WAIT!

In other news, the Netflix website is driving me crazy. WHY DID IT GO DOWN RIGHT WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO SHIP ME SOME MORE DAMIAN DVDs? WHY? :'( I'm dying to see the rest of The Forsyte Saga. I NEED TO SEE IF SOAMES FALLS IN LOVE AGAIN, DAMN IT! I hope he forgets about stupid Irene and falls in love with someone who can actually appreciate his awesomeness and doesn't bring out the devil in him. I saw some pics, and it looks like he does, but I absolutely have to see how much he humiliates himself with Irene before he finds a new love.

Oh, also, I watched eps 3 and 4 of Band of Brothers, and both of these were pretty much all battles, and they were freaking AWESOME! I was on the edge of my seat throughout both episodes. Downside is, Damian was barely in them. :'( Upside is, when he was, it made me appreciate him even more. ♥ I can't wait to watch the rest of this series either. Oh, and you know the dude that they call Bull? He's in Life! He plays the big bad prison guy that raised his voice to Dani and Charlie defended her against him, then later he helps Charlie find Hollis. He was a lot more attractive on Band of Brothers... And David Schwimmer came back in ep 4! OMG! I was so wanting a Winters/Sobel moment, but I didn't get one. :'( So not fair! How am I supposed to continue to manipulate screencaps to tell their love story if they don't even share a scene together? Hmph.

Well... I don't think anyone looked at my Forsyte picspam, so there's really no point in doing ep 2, but in the words of Martina McBride, I'll "do it anywaaaaaaaaay" because I am utterly obsessed with this series at the moment. I don't know why, but I adore these Victorian period BBC productions. I have so many of them, and I get so obsessed after I watch them. And I love love LOVE when my men are in them. OMG, DAMIAN IS SOOOOOOOO PRETTY!!! Awkward, but still beautiful. So now I bring you part 2, where the misery really starts to set in (and we get a little bit of Soames and June interaction, and they are beyond awesome together. Probably because they are reflections of each other, only June's soul is full of light while Soames' is full of darkness. They share the same motivations, but they make different choices). Again, I recommend this series to all who enjoy these victorian stories, and I most definitely rec it to all Damian fans (even if you're just a semi-fan), because it is truly a brilliant performance. I know he gets all his credit from being in Band of Brothers, but I actually think he was even more brilliant in this. Anyway, on with the picspam.
