So, that Merlin Australian special. It only showed ASH twice, maybe? And, I swooned, both times.

CLEAVAGE, BITCH! HELL YEAH! I love my Uther cleavage. I can't help it. And he's so adorable when he cracks himself up with his nonsensical, rambley responses. I also love him for defending Uther. UTHER IS AWESOMESAUCE! Isn't it sad how everyone else is flailing over Bradley and Colin and Katie (and her ginormous glasses), and I'm just like, "THE OLD DUDE! HE'S HOT!" *sigh* I bet he'd even look hot in Katie's ginormous glasses.

So, big time LJ voting stuff. It's annoying. I swear that 93.5% of my f-list is just people posting something like, "VOTE FOR MY SHIP, BITCHES! DO IT! NOW!" and, I'm all for enthusiasm and most certainly am not dissing any of you lovely people that I adore, but... ARGH. It's like the HBIC contest all over again. And you know who won the HBIC contest? A FUCKING MAN. Psh, even in an all female contest a stupid man wins. SUCH IS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN. And he won by a freaking landslide. A man who completely BUTCHERED Ring of Fire. I'M SORRY. I CANNOT SHARE FANDOM'S LOVE OF THIS NOT-SO-TALENTED DUDE WHO IS SO NOT AN HBIC. Anyway, I have already come to terms with the fact that NONE of my ships will win. They just won't. The one that has the most chance is Merlin/Arthur. Otherwise, I ship the obscure and/or hated ships, so... yeah, not gonna win. And I am being vicious and voting against the ships that bother me, and 9 times out of 10 I have never even heard of the opposing ship. WHY? WHY DO RIDICULOUS INTERNET CONTESTS MAKE US ALL LUNATICS? I don't know. But there you go. Also, I am saddened that Buffy/Giles isn't even an option. Nor is Uther/Morgana. *hmph* They so should have pitted Buffy/Angel against Buffy/Spike, just to see what kind of shit storm would happen from that. But... anyway. Yeah. I'm crazy. But so are you lot, so it's all good.

Speaking of ships this non-secret amused me. Firstly, because it said "Moses" instead of "Noah", and secondly, because the second I saw it, I was like, "OMG, ARE THEY TALKING TO ME?" As it has been lovingly pointed out by many, I don't have ships, I have a freaking fleet.

----------------

Did I ever mention that the last new True Blood episode made me finally see why so many people ship Sookie/Eric? Because holy hell, they've got this freakishly hot thing going on between them, and I fear falling in love with that ship, because then it'll make me resent Bill, and I so don't want to resent that lovely vampire, so... yeah, I'm digging just going with the flow ship-wise on this show, so I really don't want to turn passionate about any of the ships, especially since the only one that I did really dig ended up going kablooey and I can't even remember why I had originally loved it so much. But Eric is so making Sookie more interesting, and Bill has a certain admiration for Eric and Sookie keeps getting in between them, and Sookie makes Bill a little unstable, and Eric just seems to get Sookie like no one else does, and GOOD LORD, I AM SO FALLING FOR THEM. AUGH, DON'T DO THIS TO ME, SHOW! I don't want to ship on this show! I just want to ogle the pretty men and laugh at the ridiculous plot. *sigh* I actually think the show is better this season writing-wise, but I think the ongoing mystery (Marianne) is sucksville. I so miss the ongoing mystery from season 1. But anyway, Sookie and Bill have gotten a lot more interesting this year, purely because of Jessica and Eric.

---------------

So, on the 4th of July, we watched the new movie on HBO, which was Burn After Reading. This got good reviews, people on my f-list generally enjoyed it. WHAT THE FREAKING HELL? IT WAS RIDICULOUS. So, so awful. I'm sorry dudes, but I just did not like it. At all. I don't really care for any of the actors in the film, so that might explain some of it, but... blech. I don't know. It wasn't the worst movie ever (I loved the government dude that was just plain confused and was happy to get rid of everybody), but it certainly wasn't worth all the praise. I guess I'm just not much of a dark comedy fan. I like goofy/awkward/touching comedy, not... pointless, the-only-endearing-characters-get-killed comedy. It was just stupid, and not the good kind of stupid. But again, not the worst, because it did keep me interested in its ridiculous plot (if it even had one), but... ugh. I could have skipped that one entirely.

Speaking of the 4th of July, since we (finally) closed down the candy store, my oldest brother brought along all the leftover candy and dried fruit and nuts with him, and GOOD GOD I am going to gain 50 million pounds by the end of the month. Seriously. There's got to be at least 30 pounds worth of candy there. Probably more. Mind you, I am picky about my candy that isn't chocolate, but still, I've been eating mini fruit slices like my life depends on them. And I've been devouring the few chocolate stuff that was left.

Is there any chance that any of you talented folks would be willing to make me a header of some sort that contains this pic:

With either... )

I generally like my headers to be 760 x 350, but the height can be anything, really, just no bigger than 350. And, you can change the background of the pics in order to make them match each other or whatever you all do when you make fancy graphics. I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER AND EVER! And I will repay you with anything that I am capable of, be it picspam or fic or embarrassing stories or whatever you can think of. I swear that I spent at least an hour tonight trying to make an aesthetically pleasing header out of these pics and I just couldn't do it. I am way too photoshop illiterate. :(

Anyway, THE ICON MEME! AGAIN! I've posted it enough that you all should know the rules by now. Comment and I'll pick 6 of your icons and yada yada yada. <--Totally went old school there with a Seinfeld reference.

So, apparently, I "cheated" on the whole 25 first lines meme ([livejournal.com profile] 15lbpurebunny  is such a hardass sometimes.  Psh).  So here's my redo:

25 First Lines, for real this time... )

THERE!  Are you happy now, Bunny?  That was all for you.  And it reads like some whacked out story.  #25 still makes me cringe like crazy.  Oh, 2004, my first year writing fanfiction (or any fiction really, since all through middle school, high school, and college it was all expository writing).  Hopefully I've gotten better since then.

Anyway, now I'm going to do this meme that I saw on fandom_memes ages ago and kept meaning to do but never did:

Pick 10 characters from as many fandoms as you wish.
Answer 16 questions. Drabble responses are very welcome, too.
Bonus: Name the meme pairing you like best and least.
Double bonus: Write a fic about either or both, featuring the situation from the meme.

1. Soames Forsyte (Forsyte Saga)
2. Charlie Crews (Life)
3. Dani Reese (Life)
4. Andy Bernard (The Office)
5. Liz Lemon (30 Rock)
6. Michael Scott (The Office)
7. Carlton Lassiter (Psych)
8. Juliet O'Hara (Psych)
9. Marshall Mann (In Plain Sight)
10. Mary Shannon (In Plain Sight)

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! )

Dude, that was ridiculous fun.  I think my favorite meme ship was Dani Reese/Carlton Lassiter.  Or possibly Charlie Crews/Carlton Lassiter.  I don't think I have a least favorite, because they all rocked.

Laugh, love, ooo and aww, and cry at the over-analysis of subtext and cheesy joke-filled recap of In Plain Sight (you know you want to.  Marshall was exceptionally hot this week):

In Plain Sight - 1x09 - Good Cop, Dead Cop

I even managed to throw in some manlust, because... well... it was too good to pass up.  Oh, and I threw in some Andy Bernard, because Andy Bernard makes everything better.  He's like pie.  And I know that I've been convinced from Hoosier Daddy that Marshall is madly in love with Mary, but now I'm even more certain.  Oh, Marshall, I love you and your quiet pining so very hard.  One day Mary will notice you.  One day.

You guys!!!  Oh, guys. *sigh*  In Plain Sight was so terrifically awesome.  I would be spazzing out right now if my ears didn't feel like they're on fire.  This ep deserves all kinds of fangirl spazzing, but I just don't have the strength.  But oh, the subtext.  It made my heart sing really loud.  Particularly the scene between Marshall and Eps.  GAH!  Oh Marshall.  You are too damn adorable.  And the house scene!  Mary and Marshall are so married and don't even know it.  The plot itself was kind of weak and there was one part that should have been foreshadowing but ended up not being foreshadow (unless you look really deep into the subtext and apply it to Mary and Marshall, but I was thinking it applied to the dead guy and his partner).  And I really wish IPS would give us some closure in the episodes to the Mary/Marshall stuff, they always give us these little moments and then they're separate from each other for the rest of the episode and I think Life has spoiled me by focusing on the Crews/Reese partnership so much so now I expect that with ALL my shows, but sadly IPS fails in finding a focus (and the partnership should so be the focus).  Also, Eps (aka Bosco) was freaking hot, and I don't blame Mary for sleeping with him at all, even though his character was such a tool.  I wanted to smack him in many parts of the ep, but at the same time I totally wanted to do him.  And Dershowitz was a total dick.  Usually I love him, but I didn't like him in this ep.  I completely understood his motivation, but... I am ridiculously invested in Mary so my loyalty lies with her.  Brandi and Raph continue to be adorable.  Anyway, Marshall was the bright spot of the ep, and we got so much beautiful subtext that I am a very happy lady right now.  I so wish I had the strength to OMG my night away.

Life With Derek was pretty awesome too, by the way.  Just in case you were wondering.  Oh, and I watched a South Park ep that contained a whole lot of boobies and the kids getting cheesed on cat piss.  It was hilarious.

In Plain Sight was wonderful tonight. For once they got the plot so right. Well written, fully developed, well executed, and the B-plot was short and entertaining, and it intertwined with the A-plot. Also, they got the drama so very right this time around. I was pretty much bawling. And Marshall being all manly and forceful spoke to my lady bits. Yeah yeah, TMI, I know. But I couldn't help it. Anyway, the witness story beautifully carried this episode, and it proved that the show can be about more than just Mary and Marshall. Did I want to punch the father in the face? Yes. But his jerkocity was completely effective, because he reminded me so much of my own father (my father's not that bad though, but he can get like that on occasion), and then the end where he admitted his faults just ripped me to shreds and had me crying like a baby. So even though the ep wasn't Mary or Marshall focused, I really did love it, and frankly, I think this was the best ep yet in terms of structure. I prefer a bit more comedy than what we got though, but they really pulled off the drama this week, so I didn't mind too much. And we even get some awesome Mary/Marshall right in the beginning, and yes, I was squeeing like a maniac over

You all need to check out the greatest Andy fanmix in the universe (which I have dubbed Fandymix, because... well... I think Andy would approve of such a thing):

Here Comes Treble: An Andy Bernard A Cappella Mix

The songs fit Andy so beautifully, and I love the theme that [profile] tinted_glass  set up there (not to mention the cover art!!!). She's my hero. ♥

---------------------------------------------------

I watched WALL-E earlier tonight with my parents and my brother, and OMG!  WHAT A BORINGASS MOVIE!  Seriously.  Why on Earth is the whole world raving about this film?  It was so monumentally underwhelming and unrelatable, not to mention kind of insulting.  Ooo, we're all horrible, wasteful, ignorant, lazy, fat people and the world is going to be full of TRASH and we'll have to be saved by robots because we'll be too stupid to figure out how to save ourselves.  Hmm... yes, greatest movie of the year... my ASS!  I actually tried to watch it earlier today and fell into a deep sleep.  So... yeah, it was riveting.  If you're into beautiful animation and artistic storytelling that panders to flaming liberals, then I guess you'll love this film, otherwise... it's just blah.  I fail to see how this film entertained so many people (especially children).  I mean, WALL-E was a cute robot, but... I'd rather watch Short Circuit.  Now that film is infinitely better than WALL-E.

You know, I've got to stop listening to the folks on MTT for movies, because I've hated every single film that they all universally praise.  You'd think I would have learned by now, but I haven't.  They all dig the pretentious films, while I dig films full of explodey things and absolute bafoonery and lots of gay jokes.  I could never, ever be a film student.  I can't even pretend to like pretentious and/or artistic films.  I am hopeless.  But they all have excellent taste in television, I must say (obviously, since we're all there for The Office).

Anyway, AWESOME episode.  Totally owned my soul.  [personal profile] piecesofalice is going to have a heart attack from the utter hotness that was Marshall in this ep.

LOCI was terrific up to a point, then it lost me in the insanity and over-predictableness.  So much laughing where I shouldn't have been laughing.  But the ep held so much promise!  And then it just went into craziness.  I miss grizzly bear Goren. :'(  Maybe he'll be back next next week, since he seems to be clean-shaven one episode, then grizzly the next.

IN PLAIN SIGHT WAS SO FREAKING FANTASTIC OMG OMG OMG!!!!  YOU GUYS!  Okay, so it was a little heavy handed here and there, BUT OMG IT WAS SO CLOSE TO PERFECTION!  I can actually say that I am loving this show for more than just Mary/Marshall now.  OMG!  AN INTERESTING PLOT!  JINX NOT MAKING ME WANT TO SHOOT HER!  MARSHALL GETTING HIS FREAK ON AND SPEAKING FRENCH!  OMG OMG OMG!  MARY AND MARSHALL BEING ALL CUTE WITH EACH OTHER!  OH MY GOD!!!!!!!  GAH, I FREAKING LOVE THIS SHOW!  LOVE IT!

Anyway, AWESOME episode.  Totally owned my soul.  [personal profile] piecesofalice is going to have a heart attack from the utter hotness that was Marshall in this ep.

1. My IPS picspam/analysis is up at [profile] mary_marshall.  Each week I seem to be getting crazier with the amount of screencaps, and 90% of those caps end up being Marshall.  I love that man.  Honestly though, there wasn't much Mary/Marshall in this ep, so towards the end there I started inserting Marshall into scenes that he wasn't in.  I think that made the ep even better.  My picspam is like pie.

2. My legs and feet are covered in mosquito bites.  You'd think I would have learned not to wear flip flops outside during the summer for long periods of time, but alas, my laziness takes over every single time.  I am too lazy to go back up the stairs to get my shoes, so I end up walking around/scootering around for hours on end with my nephew in flip flops, and the bugs eat the heck out of my feet.  They itch like the devil.  But so do my calves and my knees... and my shins.  And I even got bitten on my wrist.  Why am I so yummy to those stupid bugs?  My shoe irritated one of the bites today and I could barely pry my sock off because the darn thing had ballooned up to the size of half a golf ball.  It was gross.  The swelling has gone down now, though.  But I'm sure it'll swell back up tomorrow.  The worst part?  We are completely out of AfterBite. :'(  Mosquitoes are by far the worst part of summer.

3. I actually remembered to watch Nashville Star tonight!  Woohoo!  I am still madly in love with Tommy Stanley, even though he kind of screwed up his performance (but he sang a Rascal Flatts song, and I'm not the biggest Rascal Flatts fan anyway, so... I just chalk it up to bad song choice).  Poo on the judges for saying, "You're not country enough."  Especially John Rich, since he always complained about record producers telling him and Big Kenny the same thing.  Psh, whatever.  They totally kicked the spark out of Tommy since he was so determined to show them that he could sing country.  I missed his natural bubbliness.  Luckily he got it back when he sang Tiny Dancer, which had a totally awesome arrangement and was actually more country than his first performance.  I wish Tiny Dancer had been his first song, because that was the one that I wanted to hear more of.  No one else is really worth talking about.  See, I know that Tommy's not the best contestant on there, and yet, he's the one that I have a burning passion for.  I blame the dimples, and the sailor mentality, and his bubbliness, and the eyes, and his uniqueness.  I LOVE HIM!!!

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!  So adorable.  THE DIMPLES!  I want to marry him, that's how adorable he is.  Also, singing Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy) is totally the way to my heart.  And singing it in front of half of the duo that wrote it?  That takes guts.  And his original song killed me.  KILLED ME!  So beautiful.  I hope he sings it on originals night (you know... if he makes it that far, which he totally should, because his voice is amazing and he's got the best personality on there).  OMG, I LOVE HIM!  I think I'm only still bothering to watch purely for him.

4. A Damian drinking from his tea cup picspam is in the works for this week, since that answer in the poll got an overwhelming response.  I think I might throw in Damian licking his lips too, because I've been meaning to picspam that (my computer is filled with him licking his lips, strangely enough.  I have no idea why...)
