Charthur!!!! 15lbpurebunny had practically challenged me to do it. Really. She did. Posting a picture of Charlie Crews in that position is just begging to be photoshopped into some sweet sweet manlove. Or... suggestive puppeteering? Ahahaha, OH GOD! It was slapped together in about 2 minutes and looks so ridiculous, but it amused me greatly.

While we're on the subject of Damian Lewis, hello Mr. Bulgey. *dies*

Fact: The big opera scene at the end of Repo? Possibly the most brilliant scene ever. Well, not the intro to the opera, that's just gratuitous for gratuity's sake and probably the only part of the film that I don't like, but the bit where Nathan shows up. OMG, I LOVE IT! SO MUCH! I always have to watch the whole scene.



They torture him so thoroughly both emotionally and physically that it freaking KILLS ME. And the physical stuff barely phases him. It's the emotional stuff that metaphorically brings him to his knees (even though, you know, the physical stuff had already physically brought him to his knees). But god, the bit where even the audience is like, "TELL HER TELL HER" and Nathan is so desperate to keep his little girl's love and he's so tortured as he screams, "Let's leave, let's leave, LET'S LEAVE!" and even though he's restrained and Shilo no longer trusts him, he needs that belief that they can still get out of there and go back to the way things were, because that's his entire life, and without it, he's dead anyway. AND OH GOD IT KILLS ME HOW SHILO DOESN'T GO TO HIM! She wants to but doesn't, because she wants to know what's going on and she knows Nathan would never tell her. AND NATHAN IS SO DEVASTATED! And he finally tells her, and he finally realizes that what he did was wrong and he's just lost in this pool of guilt and fear of losing his baby girl, and Shilo is so lost because her father was her everything and now she has all these other voices telling her he's a monster and through her blackout, she's seeing him protect her, she's hearing him telling her that he loves her and that she's his world, and even through her memory of the slap she can still faintly hear his caring voice, and the last vision she sees is him protecting her in his Repo uniform, and she just CAN'T see him as a monster, because no matter what, he was always there to love and protect her, and in the end, this love is his salvation, because Shilo loves him just as fiercely and she understands why he did what he did, even if she's angry at him for doing it. And gah, I LOVE THAT SCENE SO MUCH! THE LOVE! OOOOH, THE LOVE!



He's finally at peace, because Shilo's love is all that matters to him. He's been released from his prison of guilt because Shilo still loves him. She's seen the monster in him, and she still loves him. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL, YOU GUYS! *cries*

Nathan's desperation to just get him and Shiloh away was heartbreaking. :C It struck me, as he said it earlier when they fought in the TV room (or whatever the eff that room was they had it out in about him being Repo Man), that he would give up his vengeance for her. As much as he hated Rotti, if it meant Shiloh and he could rebuild, this time with the truth out, he would walk away without a glance back. I think Shiloh understood that towards the end, that her father always hung up the other side of him at the drop of a hat because he loved her that much. Like when he was out on a gory job with that spinal repossession with 'I'll leave right now if you need me'; when she was in the graveyard he shoved the kill squad off and didn't even try to not make it obvious what she meant to him. It's not like Spike changing for Buffy because he wanted her so bad, but more that Nathan would be reminded that no matter what the psychotic break side of him had gotten into the motions of doing for seventeen long, hard years, Shiloh was the trigger to everything he once aspired to be and yank him back out from melding the Repo and Nathan sides of him together, because the Nathan side of him was starting to fall about in the end, until she 'saved him' when he was dying by loving him and forgiving him. I really lament the lack of fics exploring Nathan and Shiloh sldjfsd; but then that's par for the course for most of my gen/familial ships. Maybe when I get home I can work on some icons, but gah, 100x100 is hard to do justice to such emotional scenes like they had in the movie. :C

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR TALKING REPO! META! Yes to all of this. IT'S WHY I LOVE THEIR LOVE! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! She was his entire world. He was her entire world. They were screwed up, but they loved each other fiercely, and that love saved both of them. It saved Shilo from turning into something like the Largos, and it saved Nathan from completely turning into a monster.

100x100 is hard to do justice to such emotional scenes like they had in the movie.

Ah, this must be why icons for them are almost non-existent. I'm just not an icon maker, so I thought the sucktasticness of the ones I made were just me not knowing how to use photoshop.
