Meme time!
I am totally squandering away my day off. I have done nothing today. Nothing! My attention span is too short today to watch k-dramas and/or movies, apparently, so, MEME IT IS.

Last week I watched a bunch of Park Shin Yang films. Dude makes me cry in every single one. He obviously hates happy endings or something. Seriously though, he was amazing in The Letter, but good god did it make me bawl. It was just kind of cruel to set up this beautiful, happy marriage and be such a lighthearted, sweet movie and then BAM! What you've been waiting for finally happens, and it breaks your heart even though it's what the summary told you the movie was about. And then I watched A Promise, where he got to be both super adorable and totally badass, and of course the ending was tragic, because it's about a gangster falling in love with a doctor, but, you know, it wasn't nearly as tragic as The Letter, so, yay? The movie itself was pretty awesome. I also watched White Valentine, which was okay, but not great. I feel like that would have been better as a drama than as a movie, but I guess I think that about most romantic Korean films. Or maybe I was hoping it'd be more of a romcom? I don't know, but at least the ending wasn't sad. And somehow I ended up watching The Harmonium in My Memory, which doesn't contain Park Shin Yang (the star was a very young Lee Byung Hun), but it was about a teacher/student romance (sort of) and I really, really enjoyed it.
But anyway, my appreciation of Park Shin Yang has gotten stronger after seeing a few of his films. There's another one that I plan on watching soon where he plays twins, one's a police officer and one's a gangster, and I'm really looking forward to that one. I've loved PSY in his various dramas, but dudes, now I see why he's more loved for his film roles than his drama roles. He's awesome. And I really, really love him as a badass mobster. ♥

Pierce pt 2
Not really? I love that he is so terribly flawed. I might tone him down a little here and there, though. I miss the lovable goon from season 1 who occasionally had a bit of sage advice. He's quite vindictive this season, but I totally understand why. He feels like the group is ignoring and mistreating him, which they kind of are. I mean, it's understandable, but still. Pierce needs love just like the rest of them!
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her?
You know, I would probably have a very familial affection for him and treat him like a father (or grandfather, because certain characteristics of his remind me so much of my grandfather). Would he like me? I have no idea. I just think that we'd probably get along well if we were in the study group together.
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites?
Hmm... I'm not sure! I really, really love him, but I don't know if he'd make a top ten list. Possibly?
9) Would you hype up this character/warn about this character to someone new to fandom?
Probably not, because Pierce says some very offensive things and someone who doesn't know me very well might think I condone such things, but if I know that a person likes screwed up characters, then yeah, I'd hype him up like crazy.
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
Ahahahahahahaha... NO, NO HE IS NOT. The fandom almost unanimously hates him, especially after the Dungeons and Dragons and Documentary episodes. Whatever, fandom, those eps just made me love him more.
I LOVED READING ALL OF THIS PIERCE LOVE
Yes! He is often what motivates Jeff to be better. Jeff sees Pierce's life and how alone and pathetic he is, and Jeff realizes that his own life could be on that same path, so it wakes him up and makes him take a sharp turn onto a different path. Pierce is definitely used as a mirror for Jeff, what he'll look like in the future, and that scares him. YEAH, I JUST VALIDATED PIERCE'S EXISTENCE, FANDOM. HA!
YES!! Hahah, I love that you point this out, because it is really entirely true. And the fact that fandom doesn't seem to grasp this concept... at all, baffles me. TOO BLINDED BY RAGE, ARE THEY?
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)?
Ahahahaha, I do, I do. PIERCE/BRITTA 4EVR!!!1!11
I like this confession. I CAN SEE IT. I also agree with you on the whole Pierce/Annie thing. A good couple of their scenes have made me go "aww". "She really is just my favorite." <3
9) Would you hype up this character/warn about this character to someone new to fandom?
Probably not, because Pierce says some very offensive things and someone who doesn't know me very well might think I condone such things, but if I know that a person likes screwed up characters, then yeah, I'd hype him up like crazy.
