Meme time!
I am totally squandering away my day off. I have done nothing today. Nothing! My attention span is too short today to watch k-dramas and/or movies, apparently, so, MEME IT IS.

Last week I watched a bunch of Park Shin Yang films. Dude makes me cry in every single one. He obviously hates happy endings or something. Seriously though, he was amazing in The Letter, but good god did it make me bawl. It was just kind of cruel to set up this beautiful, happy marriage and be such a lighthearted, sweet movie and then BAM! What you've been waiting for finally happens, and it breaks your heart even though it's what the summary told you the movie was about. And then I watched A Promise, where he got to be both super adorable and totally badass, and of course the ending was tragic, because it's about a gangster falling in love with a doctor, but, you know, it wasn't nearly as tragic as The Letter, so, yay? The movie itself was pretty awesome. I also watched White Valentine, which was okay, but not great. I feel like that would have been better as a drama than as a movie, but I guess I think that about most romantic Korean films. Or maybe I was hoping it'd be more of a romcom? I don't know, but at least the ending wasn't sad. And somehow I ended up watching The Harmonium in My Memory, which doesn't contain Park Shin Yang (the star was a very young Lee Byung Hun), but it was about a teacher/student romance (sort of) and I really, really enjoyed it.
But anyway, my appreciation of Park Shin Yang has gotten stronger after seeing a few of his films. There's another one that I plan on watching soon where he plays twins, one's a police officer and one's a gangster, and I'm really looking forward to that one. I've loved PSY in his various dramas, but dudes, now I see why he's more loved for his film roles than his drama roles. He's awesome. And I really, really love him as a badass mobster. ♥

Currently they are: Michael/Dwight (I &hearts them forever and always), Michael/Erin, and Jim/Pam (shhhhhh, don't tell anyone!).
- 3 favorite characters
ANDY BERNARD, Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute
- 3 favorite moments
This is impossible to answer, so I'll just go with whatever pops into my head first:
1) Michael showing up at Pam's art show. SO BEAUTIFUL.
2) Andy serenading Angela with ABBA. I don't think anything on TV has ever left me so giddy and breathless
3) Michael rushing off to Staples to win Dwight back. His speech to him was quite lovely. Basically, any moment where Michael appreciates Dwight reduces me to a blubbering fool.
- 3 reasons I like/love that fandom
I met most of my favorite online friends through the fandom. Granted, I met them on the outskirts of the fandom, but that's always where the most interesting people hide. I also like the fact that the fanfic in this fandom is so stellar. It's kind of spoiled me for all other fandoms in that regard. I also love the long, intricate discussions that this fandom can have about all of its characters and their relationships with each other.

There is a serious shortage of Erin fic in this fandom in general. I'm surprised my crush on her has latest this long, lol.
I've always been sad nobody on my twitter timeline likes the show. :(

Kind of sad my Eva Green crush doesn't exist anymore. :( She's still one of the most unique actresses out there IMO.

Meme #2: Parks & Rec!
Meme 1
She is awesome. She is badass and vulnerable and ruthless and loving and scared and fearless and STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL. She's full of contradictions, which is very human, and I tend to like that in a character.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
I've always thought so, but, you know, the creators of the show seem to think differently. But now she's the villain in all sense of the term, so, kind of hard to deny her importance now.
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
I can relate to her insecurities, I think. That feeling of not knowing what lies in your future, the fear of never being truly loved, her feelings of isolation. But, I am neither stunningly beautiful nor badass, and I am in no way confrontational, so, that's pretty much where the similarities end. But I wish that I was like Morgana in many ways, so that helps with the relatability, I guess.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
I love the cracktasticness of the fandom, but I sometimes hate how easily offended people get in this fandom, which causes the most ridiculous wank ever. But at least we don't have ship wank? For the most part, anyway. I guess there is some Merlin/Arthur vs Gwen/Arthur these days, but it's not terrible.
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)?
UTHER P-DRAGON. My enthusiasm has died down since it was revealed that they are biological father and daughter, though. It's just not the same. *sniff* I believe that I will still find them to be the most fascinating ship on the show, though. I just... have to find a new romantic ship for Morgana. I've never shipped her with anyone but Uther, because that is how intense I've always found her feelings for him to be. He is her motivation for pretty much everything.
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
Enough with the smirking and more with the character development. I hate that the show has made her into such a mustache-twirly villain, especially since they've done such a good job at not doing that with Uther.
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her? Would you get along well? Fall in love with him/her? Dislike? Have a friendly rivalry?
Honestly, I don't think she'd have the time of day for me, and I would probably find her off-putting. She's like the super popular girl in school that I would never really talk to, because I wouldn't want to be noticed by her, because she is someone whose wrath I would never want.
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
Hmm, I love her loads, but I'm not sure anymore if she's one of my all-time favorites. She used to be, but I kind of hate where season 3 took her. We'll see what happens next season.
9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?
Yes! Because despite my gripes, she is still super awesome.
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
I think so? I haven't seen any strong hate for her, anyway.

LESLIE/RON!!! Ann/Leslie, April/Andy
- 3 favorite characters
Leslie Knope, Ron Swanson, Andy Dwyer
- 3 favorite moments
1)Ron explaining to Leslie why she didn't like her perfect lawyer boyfriend. It was AMAZING and beautiful and left me giddy for ages.
2)Ron throwing out his back and April having to wheel him to the hospital in his office chair. I AM RON FUCKING SWANSON!
3) Leslie sitting on Ron's car until the alcohol had passed through his system. Her caring about his health pleased me to no end, and they seemed so married in that episode, especially with him angrily calling her "WOMAN!"
Basically any and all Ron/Leslie moments ever.
- 3 reasons I like/love that fandom
Because it barely exists? Which means there aren't any fights, which means there is no butterness. I hate that the fandom has gone all crazy over Leslie/Ben though and the tiny following that Ron/Leslie had has basically died out. NOT COOL.
ETA: Ahahahaha, I typed "butterness" instead of bitterness. *sigh*
Re: Meme 2
THIS MOMENT, YES! My soul still goes quietly swoony when I think about it.
3) Leslie sitting on Ron's car until the alcohol had passed through his system. Her caring about his health pleased me to no end, and they seemed so married in that episode, especially with him angrily calling her "WOMAN!"
They were SO GREAT in that episode, oh man! And I love when he shows up for work the next day with the small harp he made in order to prove to her that he can hold his liquor. Oh, JOY! Iiii wish this season had more Leslie/Ron scenes. Or maybe I just wish all the scenes were Leslie/Ron scenes.
Re: Meme 2
ME TOO!!!!!! But you probably already knew that. Oh man, I wish I had the season 2 P&R boxset. I keep hoping that Walmart will put it on sale, but they just keep increasing the price instead. BASTARDS.

2. Might as well stay on theme. Community.
Pierce!!!!! I talked so much about him that I have to split this in two
He is kind of a major jerk, but I love him anyway. It's probably partly because I've grown up watching and loving Chevy Chase (had a crush on him when I was younger), but it's also because he's such an offensive, flawed character who tries SO HARD to be someone else. He is in desperate need of acceptance and love and he rarely gets it, but he still keeps on going. He still tries no matter how many times he fails, because he truly believes that he is worthy of love and acceptance.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Yes! He is often what motivates Jeff to be better. Jeff sees Pierce's life and how alone and pathetic he is, and Jeff realizes that his own life could be on that same path, so it wakes him up and makes him take a sharp turn onto a different path. Pierce is definitely used as a mirror for Jeff, what he'll look like in the future, and that scares him. YEAH, I JUST VALIDATED PIERCE'S EXISTENCE, FANDOM. HA!
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
YES. Too much, actually. It is scary how much I can relate to Pierce, and how much I feel for him despite the fact that he can be so awful. He's basically on the peripheral of the group. He's there, but he's not really a part of them (which is the source of much of his angst this season). He doesn't feel appreciated, he doesn't quite understand why he's having so much trouble relating to these people, and he just wants to be one of them. He wants to really be a part of something for once in his life.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
You know, I used to adore this fandom. It was fun and welcoming and full of awesome discussion, but then the season 1 finale happened and the fandom became very polarized, and you can really feel the tension between certain factions. The J/B shippers feel oppressed, the non-shippers feel superior to everyone, and the J/A shippers feel like everyone else is trying to piss in their sandbox and why can't they leave us alone? So, yeah. Still though, the discussions that happen are pretty awesome and wank is usually full of hilarious snark, so, it's not really bad at all. I think I just miss the days when everyone got along. And I really miss the days when the fandom didn't pit the women against each other (Britta vs Annie. Shirley doesn't seem to get much love)
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)?
Ahahahaha, I do, I do. PIERCE/BRITTA 4EVR!!!1!11! I just find their dynamic delightful, and I feel like he's extra obsessed with her and she's the only person who ever tries to take him seriously. Also, she's the only person that he's ever successful at zinging. Which is a weird reason to love them together, but I love that they are kind of on even footing with each other. I also enjoy the Pierce/Annie dynamic on a completely platonic level. She's basically the daughter that he wishes he had, and his feelings for her seem to be very genuine. He also seems to be the one who notices when Annie is missing or something is up with her, and he was touched that she believes in him, and they are just so darn sweet.
Pierce pt 2
Not really? I love that he is so terribly flawed. I might tone him down a little here and there, though. I miss the lovable goon from season 1 who occasionally had a bit of sage advice. He's quite vindictive this season, but I totally understand why. He feels like the group is ignoring and mistreating him, which they kind of are. I mean, it's understandable, but still. Pierce needs love just like the rest of them!
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her?
You know, I would probably have a very familial affection for him and treat him like a father (or grandfather, because certain characteristics of his remind me so much of my grandfather). Would he like me? I have no idea. I just think that we'd probably get along well if we were in the study group together.
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites?
Hmm... I'm not sure! I really, really love him, but I don't know if he'd make a top ten list. Possibly?
9) Would you hype up this character/warn about this character to someone new to fandom?
Probably not, because Pierce says some very offensive things and someone who doesn't know me very well might think I condone such things, but if I know that a person likes screwed up characters, then yeah, I'd hype him up like crazy.
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
Ahahahahahahaha... NO, NO HE IS NOT. The fandom almost unanimously hates him, especially after the Dungeons and Dragons and Documentary episodes. Whatever, fandom, those eps just made me love him more.
I LOVED READING ALL OF THIS PIERCE LOVE
HA!
YES!! Hahah, I love that you point this out, because it is really entirely true. And the fact that fandom doesn't seem to grasp this concept... at all, baffles me. TOO BLINDED BY RAGE, ARE THEY?
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)?
Ahahahaha, I do, I do. PIERCE/BRITTA 4EVR!!!1!11
I like this confession. I CAN SEE IT. I also agree with you on the whole Pierce/Annie thing. A good couple of their scenes have made me go "aww". "She really is just my favorite." <3
9) Would you hype up this character/warn about this character to someone new to fandom?
Probably not, because Pierce says some very offensive things and someone who doesn't know me very well might think I condone such things, but if I know that a person likes screwed up characters, then yeah, I'd hype him up like crazy.
:DDD

JEFF/ANNIE, Troy/Abed, Chang/Duncan (their scenes together are rare, but oooooh do I love them)
- 3 favorite characters
Annie Edison, Pierce Hawthorne, Ben Chang
- 3 favorite moments
1)The Somewhere Out There montage will always be one of the greatest things to ever happen on television. It still makes me tear up when I watch it.
2) The Jeff/Annie Debate kiss, because it started something beautiful.
3) The table scene in Romantic Expressionism where they all consider each other as sexual prospects. It was quite possibly the most brilliant thing that this show has ever done, and I felt like that was the defining moment for this show becoming a true ensemble show. Also, THE JEFF/ANNIE GOOGLY EYES, OMG! (had to get my fangirl moment in there)
- 3 reasons I like/love that fandom
Hilariously snarky wank! Crazy, crazy enthusiasm! And... I don't know. The show itself is awesome in every way, though.

Damon/Elena/Stefan! OT3 for always. Stefan/Caroline. Damon/Stefan.
- 3 favorite characters
DAMON SALVATORE. Caroline Forbes. Everyone else.
- 3 favorite moments
1) Katherine fondly remembering Stefan telling her that he loves her. For some reason that entire scene really got to me, especially after Stefan spent the entire episode insisting that she could never care about anyone but herself. She loves him!
2) DAMON AND ELENA DANCE. WITH THE EYESEX. AND THE BREATHLESSNESS. OMGOMGOMG LOVE!!!
3) Damon telling Elena that he's going to let her go, because he wants her and Stefan to be happy and he'll never deserve her. Oh, my heart!
There are a billion other moments that I wanted to list, too, but, those were the first three that popped into my head.
- 3 reasons I like/love that fandom
Hmm... I don't really participate in the fandom at all, to be honest. THE FANGIRLS KIND OF SCARE ME. Plus, I am very strongly in favor of the OT3, while most of fandom is very strictly Damon/Elena or Stefan/Elena. DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE, FANDOM! You can't have one ship without there being interference from the third party, and they all love each other anyway, so, you know, they should just live as one big happy threesome. If only those pesky brothers could get over their silly jealousies! Elena can love them both, damn it! And the brothers will always love and need each other no matter how much they resent each other.
Okay, Dream High:
- 3 favorite relationships
JASON/PILSOOK! Oh man was I enamored with those two. I watched all of their scenes repeatedly every week, and they were responsible for me not being able to wait for the subs to come out, so I'd watch the raw eps right away and just guess what they were saying. OMG, THEY WERE SO ADORABLE! Also, Sam Dong/Hye Mi and Teacher Kang/Hye Mi.
- 3 favorite characters
Pilsook, Sam Dong, Hye Mi or Teacher Yang or Teacher Kang (I can't decide!)
- 3 favorite moments
1) Jason worrying about Pilsook being in the hospital/him totally failing at expressing his feelings in the hospital scene
2) Hye Mi realizing that Sam Dong is the one she loves and then literally running away from him
3) Sam Dong successfully singing "Dreaming" even though he couldn't hear anything. Never fails to make me cry. ♥
And basically every moment ever. OMG, I MISS THIS SHOW LIKE CRAZY.
- 3 reasons I like/love that fandom
Hmm, well, the fandom pretty much seemed to ship what I shipped, so that's always a plus. Also, the LJ comm is always posting interviews with the stars and BTS stuff. And the fanvids are super adorable.
