OMG!

*is now a puddle of giddy fangirly goo*

OMG, YOU GUYS, DAMON'S FACE! I LOVE HIS FACE SO MUCH. I find it interesting that an ep or two ago I didn't shed a tear at all when Stefan and Elena broke up [for real] despite both Stefan and Elena crying their eyes out to an annoying degree, but tonight? While watching Damon's face? Gaaaaah, all the boy has to do is shed one single tear and I am a goner. He is so subtly vulnerable that he just gets me every time. I think what really pulls me in about this character is that he knows he does horrible things and he doesn't ask for people's forgiveness. He doesn't want to be forgiven, he just... wants to stop hurting. He wants to be a good person for Elena, and I think a part of him wants to be a good person for Stefan, but most of all, for himself, because those few heroic moments of his are pretty much the only times when he doesn't hate himself. It's just that he can't. He can't forget what he's done, he can't forget what he is, and because of this he will never be the person he wants to be, and it's so damn heartbreaking. GOD, HIS FACE. ♥

Er... as for my NBC comedies, I found Community to be pretty weird (but still hilarious. It rarely fails at being hilarious). 30 Rock was pretty wonderful, but I found myself hating Avery for the first time ever (DON'T MESS WITH JACK AND LIZ'S BFFery, DAMN IT! Though I did understand where she was coming from. Jack and Liz consult each other about every single life decision they ever make, including baby names, so, yes, of course Avery would feel threatened. But still, cutting them off from each other when she knows that they really can't live without each other? NOT COOL. And this was yet another ep that proved that Jack and Liz should just get married already, because they are way closer to each other than they are their boyfriend/girlfriend). The Office was pretty adorable. STOP THAT BLONDE LADY, SHE STOLE MY BABY (and the scones). That was pretty much the highlight of the ep for me. Well, that and Andy's bowtie.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia had an insane amount of guest stars tonight. WHAT WAS UP WITH THAT? But I loved them all. Particularly Jason Sudeikis. I love how someone way more normal than the gang comes across as a total douche when hanging out with them. Oh god, him laughing at Mac's failed attempts at roundhouse kicking the bell was so weirdly heartbreaking. LOVED the scene between Charlie and Dave Foley, probably my favorite bit of the episode. I am so glad that I didn't actually give up on this show, because this season is shaping up to be pretty awesome.

I was hating Avery for the first time, too, and I am not happy about it! And, idk, I can't really see where she's coming from, if only because she was all, "Liz is an *employee*," when it's obvious that they're friends, and I think it's a super jerky thing for her to want him to stop talking to his bff.

Yeah, in all honesty, I was proud of myself for not hating on Avery all this time, but ugh, she was kind of unbearable last night. The saddle "to ride the maid" thing was especially disturbing. She just feels so much like a nuisance to Jack, which makes her a nuisance to the audience, and just... WHY IS THIS EVEN A STORYLINE? I still don't understand why the show decided to tie Jack down with a wife and baby that he doesn't even really like. He enjoys having sex with Avery, but that's pretty much it. And now she's coming between Jack and Liz and making their epic friendship into this insignificant thing that Jack shouldn't want in his life, and... AUGH, NOT COOL. NOT COOL AT ALL. And even in the end Jack had to label their relationship as less than it actually is just to placate Avery. Blech.

I completely agree with everything you said. I don't get what they're doing with her character at all.

I agree with you completely when it comes to Damon. Gosh, why so amazing Ian Somerhalder?

Hee, I feel like I should be apologetic about my insane Damon love, but I'm really not. I love the dude. It is extremely rare for me to love the character that most of the fandom loves too, but Damon is just that awesome. Luckily I don't generally defend his behavior or hate on characters that hate him, but still, my love for Vampire Diaries is pretty much determined by how awesome and/or tragic Damon is in any given episode.

Your Damon thoughts = my Damon thoughts, basically. I'm always a sucker for the character who is the equivalent of a Tootsie Pop - hard on the outside, but soft and gooey on the inside. Subtlely vulnerable is the perfection description of it. There is a lot of self-loathing there (which is strongly articulated in the scene where he killed Mason a couple of weeks ago), and oh god it hurts. Damon comes off as cocksure, but really it's Stefan who is the more confident and self-assured of the brothers.

(Also since I'm behind on my friends list: congrats on snagging a job!).
