Dear Psych finale,

I was totally feeling you, even the Shawn/Juliet (FIRST TIME EVER, by the way) but then you just had to go overboard in the end, didn't you? You just had to make me go from my surprised "Awwwwwwww," reaction to my typical, "Ugh ugh I'm going to puke," reaction, didn't you? UUUUUUUGH. Just, you know, next time? Skip the epically sappy speech that is just so ridiculously not Shawn, okay? Because the first sappy speech I totally bought and actually enjoyed because it was a genuine moment of self reflection for him, but the second speech? UUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH. That being said, this is probably the best that you've ever handled the atrocity that is Shawn/Juliet, and for once, FOR ONCE, you finally made me think that they aren't so bad. But I still miss Lassiter/Juliet like crazy. *cries*

I've started watching another Korean drama, because, well, I'm me, and I decided to go with Personal Taste, because apparently I'm kind of in love with Lee Min Ho? Only slightly, in the sense that I enjoy looking at him and this is the second drama of his that I've watched (he was the main dude on Boys Over Flowers). I think I find him even more delightful in this one than I did in BOF. Anyway, the first ep made me laugh like crazy and instantly got me interested in the drama, and that is not typical of most first eps for me with K-dramas, so, I think I'm really going to enjoy this one. But anyway, the point of even bringing this up is that I find it utterly hilarious that this dude:

Has been in almost every single Korean drama that I have seen. Dude gets around! And I've enjoyed him in everything, though in this one it looks like he's the bad guy.

I totally wrote a corny Merlin/Community mash-up comment fic. BUT THAT WAS BACK WHEN I WAS SUPER EXCITED FOR THE RETURN OF MERLIN. Ack, stupid spoilers, making me worry. *sigh*

Speaking of Community fic, you all should read anything’s righter than books could plan by [livejournal.com profile] dearygirl. Especially if you are A) a Britta fan, B) an Annie/Britta fan, C) a Jeff/Annie fan, or D) all of the above. But mainly A and B. And don't let the pregnancy storyline scare you away, because this fic handled it in such a very real and beautiful way, and it's entirely from Britta's POV, and the Britta/Annie friendship is so utterly magnificent in this, and Abed and Troy are perfection, and even the Jeff/Annie bits feel so true to life. I loved this so freaking much (and hey, there was even a tiny bit of Britta/Pierce subtext in there that totally thrilled me, even though, you know, I don't think the author meant it to be subtext, but whatever, I SEE BRITTA/PIERCE SUBTEXT IN ALL FANFIC. IT'S JUST A THING). Anyway, it's a great read. It made me laugh out loud and it made me burst into happy tears, and it's just so rare that a piece of fanfiction can move me to tears. So, yeah, it's wonderful.

And here, just to get you in the fic reading mood:

*swoooooooooon*

Because I needed something to remind me that, hey, my love for Merlin is not just about Uther/Morgana:

PSYCHHHH. I will put off watching it, probably! More so because my parents are using the television, but you know. EFFORT POINTS FOR TRYING TO MAKE SHAWN/JULIET TOLERABLE, AT LEAST? Oh, show.

Ahahahaha. Well, it was an enjoyable ep, and luckily the Shawn/Juliet stuff does not dominate it like it did last week. Also, there was one moment where I was like, "Ooooooh, I bet Mina will delightfully read Shawn/Lassiter subtext into that!" Now I'm curious if you will.

If you mean the bit when Lassiter phoned Shawn on the pier, and Shawn deflected by telling Lassiter to search behind the condoms, then yes, yes I did. Delightfully. Hee!

BUT OH GOD THE LAST SCENE IN THE MANSION. I think, between the two dudes, Juliet should stick with Mr. Money. That is practical thinking! But mostly I want that so the show will stop with the overly sappy Shawn/Juliet. OH, IT WAS BAD.

Oh man, I somehow missed that part! I was actually thinking of the moment when Lassiter gets flummoxed at the spy lady hitting on Shawn, and Lassiter goes, "Seriously? What is it about Spencer that everyone sees that I don't?" (or something to that effect) and he is so genuinely concerned about it.

Ahahahaha, OH GOD, THE MANSION SCENE. Ugh. The show was doing so good up until that point. God, Shawn was even crying, what the hell? AND YES, JULIET SHOULD STICK WITH MR. MONEY. He is more appealing in absolutely every way. But, you know, they are obviously doomed now that she KISSED ANOTHER MAN. And right when he bought an entire hotel for her! HOW COULD SHE CHOOSE SHAWN OVER SOMEONE WHO BUYS A HOTEL FOR HER? I just don't know.

There was Shawn Juliet in last week's EP? I thankfully missed it because I was traveling. I tuned out of this ep after twenty minutes. I hate shules that much. I was enjoying psych this season too. Stupid show for ruining it and reintroducing that loathsome dynamic.

Luckily the season was so Shawn/Juliet free that I was able to stomach these last two eps. Frankly, I figured that the show would assault us with it by season's end, so I guess I was prepared. Luckily it wasn't as awful as it usually is. I may even warm up to them someday! Maybe. Or not. (probably not, especially if they draw it out for another season)

I thought the Shawn/Juliet moments were really odd, it was like the writers forgot their writing 101 lessons so everything felt forced and relied too heavily on old television romance cliche.

I really get tired of the "I want to be with you, but can't" romances quickly, and giving Juliet a boyfriend while she kisses Shawn does not endear me to Shawn/Juliet.

Oh well, it wasn't too bad since it was only about 2 moments in the episode, I will continue to watch for Gus and Lassie.

Honestly, this is the least forced they've felt to me, but yeah, they were trying to hit all the old romance cliches there. And when Juliet grabbed Shawn and kissed him I was like, "OH DEAR GOD, NO, JULIET! THINK OF DECLAN! YOUR SUPER RICH BOYFRIEND! At least have the decency to break up with him before you go kissing another dude!" Ugh. Ugh. And they had to go and make me really love Declan, too. Like, no matter how hard they try to push this Shawn/Juliet thing, I always end up thinking that the other romantic interests are way better for them. Declan is a grownup who has no problem facing his feelings, he's being completely open with Juliet, and OH YEAH, HE'S SUPER RICH. Plus, he's pretty hilarious. I just don't see how Shawn would be the more appealing option there. This episode was trying to rely on the "connection" between Shawn and Juliet to make that kiss believable, but... they've kind of majorly failed at convincing me of this supposed connection.

Oh well, at least they didn't bug me too much last night. Usually something of that magnitude would have me fuming at the fact that it ruined an ep for me, but I accepted the Shawn/Juliet in this one pretty well. I don't know if it's that it was written/performed better than usual, or if I'm just FINALLY coming to terms with the fact that they're an actual thing, but they really didn't bother me too much.

It's not even fair *sob* Here I was this whole time going, "YES, YES, THANK YOU PSYCH FOR MAKING JULIET BACK TO THE WAY SHE WAS AND SO EASILY DEFLECTING SHAWN'S FLIRTATIONS AND FOR NOT HONING IN ON THEIR ANGSTMANCE"

And then they ruined it again *sob sob*

Ha! Oh, I feel your pain. I was so proud of the show for completely staying away from romance this season, and then they shoved it all into the last two eps. Blech. But at least they didn't force it upon us in every single ep like they did in the last two seasons.
