1. Oh, you guys, The Big Bang Theory was so freaking hilarious tonight. SHELDON/PENNY!!!! The show is always amazing when it teams those two together, and gosh have I missed that team-up like crazy. They are even more hilarious when female!Sheldon is added to the mix. I also highly enjoyed the ridiculous Howard subplot. This was definitely my favorite premiere of the night.

2. Community! I AM SO RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY TO HAVE THIS SHOW BACK IN MY LIFE AGAIN. Not that it ever really left considering the fact that I obsessed over it all summer, but, you know, it's nice to have new material to see. As a Community fan, I really, really enjoyed this ep and found it suitably hilarious. As a Jeff/Annie fan, however, I was a little depressed? Like, I did not want Jeff and Annie coming back as a power couple or any ridiculous nonsense like that, and I fully expected the show to hit the reset button with them, but... they kind of demeaned the entire Jeff/Annie relationship in one episode, which bummed me out a little bit. On the other hand, I found their actions to be 100% in character and probably would have found it weird had it gone any other way, so I'm sort of satisfied at the same time. I don't know, it's complicated. But, yeah, I feel like the show has effectively shut them down (my fellow shippers felt otherwise it looks like, but I honestly did not see anything good for the ship as a possible future romance. Maybe it is just that I find douchey Jeff repugnant, but... I just have trouble seeing how Annie could ever see him in the long-term again after all that heartbreak).

3. 30 Rock! It was... good, I guess? I enjoyed it, I think? I am very non-committal tonight, apparently. I liked the return to the Jack/Liz friendship, but I still miss the sexy vibes that they used to have. LOVED the Tracy/Kenneth! And Jenna was awesome. Was scarred for life by the joke about Pete having rough sex with his sleeping wife (did they really need to cut away to that? Really? Ugh).

4. THE OFFICE!

Spoilers )

5. Outsourced sucked. BRING BACK PARKS AND REC! IMMEDIATELY! Seriously, this show was so damn mediocre and borderline offensive that I cannot find one redeeming thing about it. Maybe Gupta, but that's about it. I think what I disliked the most was that it felt like it was talking down to both the audience and the Indian characters. Just... don't do that, show, and then maybe you'd have potential. And, you know, try to actually be funny! Because the jokes in this ep just did not cut it. Also, having the white people be the "cool kids" was so the wrong way to go. The white people should be feeling like the fish out of water rather than the other way around. And it would have been nice if this show had been about the Indian culture rather than just Indian people saying and doing American things and expecting us to laugh simply because they're doing it with an Indian accent. I don't know, this show just turned me off in every way possible. I'll give it a few more tries, but so far this one does not look like a winner in any way.

6. I think I am just going to give up on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. It has definitely reached its expiration date.

7. Vampire Diaries will have to wait till tomorrow. WHY THE HELL IS EVERYTHING ON ON THURSDAYS?

So, I've been watching a new Korean drama called Playful/Mischevious Kiss, and this is my first time watching a k-drama as it airs, AND IT IS FREAKING KILLING ME (ironically, this also airs on Thursdays). I can't believe how hard it is to wait for a new ep, good god. I am so used to zipping through these dramas in two or three days because they are so damn addicting that I can't stop watching, and now I have to WAIT AN ENTIRE WEEK between every two episodes. That's just... that's insanity. But anyway, this drama has been absolutely fantastic so far. It's made me laugh a ridiculous amount, but it's also made me cry. I just find it amazing how it is so emotionally resonant considering the fact that it is probably the most comedic k-drama I've watched so far, and the overall tone of the show is pretty whimsical. The leads have great chemistry, and the supporting characters are so, so awesome (I am kind of shipping Joon Gu/Joo Ri like crazy, which is ridiculously hopeless, but their chemistry is even better than the leads. Sadly, they haven't shared one scene together since the setting shifted from high school to college, so... yeah, ridiculously hopeless). Anyway, I love the style of this drama. I don't know if it's the cinematography or the filtering or the lighting or what, but it's so damn beautiful.

I am also in the middle of Smile, You, which is so utterly delightful, but it has an insane amount of episodes, therefore it'll take me ages to get through it (if I get through it, but I've already seen 13 episodes so far and have enjoyed each and every one). Lee Min Jung is totally my new favorite k-drama actress. She is so damn adorable! I ♥ her kind of a lot.

And in addition to that, I've been watching Hotelier to feed my Kim Seung Woo addiction. This is yet another drama in which my guy tragically does not get the girl because she chooses the boring pretty boy instead. Luckily I know this ahead of time, unlike when I sat through TWENTY FRICKIN' EPISODES of How to Meet a Perfect Neighbor where I fully believed that my guy would end up with the heroine since he was the hero, but NOPE, DIDN'T HAPPEN, AND I AM STILL STEAMING ANGRY ABOUT THAT. I just... I need to see something where Kim Seung Woo and Bae Doo Na end up together, because their chemistry is amazing and OH MY GOD, HOW DID THEY NOT END UP TOGETHER? SERIOUSLY! (they've starred in another drama together, too, but in that one he's married to someone else, so their relationship is platonic. AUGH). Er... anyway, back to Hotelier. It is a melodrama as opposed to a rom-com, so, a bit more serious than I'm used to. And kind of boring in the beginning, but I am trekking through it because Kim Seung Woo gives such a lovely performance in this. He is all subtle and beautiful and playful and sexy and flummoxed and awesome AND OH HOW I LOVE HIM! Also, even though he does not get the girl, he does have a young girl chasing after him and their relationship is so beautifully surprising and kind of tragic. I expect that they do not get a happy ending, especially since Kim Seung Woo's character is still in love with the heroine of the story and thinks himself far too old for the young girl, but I am loving this romance so far. And the show got way more interesting once that bit of the story started getting developed. Also, even though I find the main romance kind of boring, they've sort of won me over, so hopefully the ending to this drama will not kill me as much as the ending to How to Meet a Perfect Neighbor did.

Anyway, I blame my watching of those last two purely on this vid:

HOW ARE THEY SO BEAUTIFUL? I wish so hard for them to star in a drama (or film) together now. Seriously, WHY ISN'T THIS A LEGIT MOVIE?

THE BIG BANG THEORY, OMG! SHELDON/PENNY, HOW I HAVE MISSED YOU! I don't think I realized how intensely I've missed their one-on-one interactions until tonight's episode. Dear lord, that was all so epic. Also, RAJ, OMG, that dude was hilarious tonight. But mainly I found myself wishing the non-Sheldon/Penny scenes would just hurry the fuck up so I could get MORE SHELDON/PENNY. Oh man, I forgot how fluttery that ship can make me. And how wonderfully hilarious and out of his element Sheldon is when he's with Penny. And how freaking hot they can be together without actually being hot, if that even makes sense. Basically, Sheldon and Penny are beautiful and I wish the show could treat us to that awesomeness in every single episode. Also, after this episode, I refuse to believe that Sheldon isn't attracted to her at least a tiny bit. That doesn't necessarily mean that he wants to have sex with her, but if he was to ever be curious about sex, he would so want Penny to be the one that he experiences it with.

HIMYM, too much focus on manwhore Barney. I love Barney and all, but when he's up to his manwhoring ways for 30 minutes straight I just get tired of him. Remember when the show used to be about Ted? Remember how Ted is totally the most hilarious character this season? I actually miss Ted, and that's just... weird.

Once again, I realize that absolutely no one will read this, but it is tradition, damn it! CMA REACTIONS, HERE I COME!

The 2009 CMA awards, aka THE TAYLOR SWIFT SHOW. )

To conclude, my favorite performance was Sugarland, which should come as a surprise to no one. But I also quite loved the kickassitude of the Zac Brown Band. Blast it, why does YouTube not have any of the performances up yet? Last year people had them on there within minutes of each performance.

In other news, the latest Merlin spoilers have me very, very excited. But sort of worried and imagining all kinds of horrid (yet delicious) scenarios that will be going down with my ship. *sigh*

Also, the preview for next week's Big Bang Theory has me excited for Sheldon/Penny again. I haven't been excited about them since before season 3 started.

Okay, now I'm going to go watch Glee.

Ooooooh how I loved Big Bang Theory tonight. In fact, I am loving this entire season quite a lot for one reason and one reason only. HOWARD/RAJ. Never has the show focused so much on their marriedness as they have this season, not even the "ersatz homosexuals" episode. Oh man, the ep where Howard was completely lost while Sheldon took up all of Raj's time with work was a beautiful demonstration of their epic manlove, but this ep? Oh dear lord, I LOVE IT WHEN RAJ GETS JEALOUS. "You leave me the second something prettier comes along!" And pretty much every moment when Howard was turning on his charm to win back Raj's heart was made of win. And the end! Oh, they are so adorable.

Also, Sheldon was so classically Sheldon in this episode. I ♥ him kind of a lot. And he got to verbally spar with Penny a little bit, so I think that's why he felt extra-Sheldony good tonight. As for Leonard, I actually felt bad for him in this ep, which pretty much happens anytime he faces Penny's friends. I know he's whiny, I know he's socially awkward, but... he tries! He tries so hard, and he fails so hard. I'm still not digging Leonard/Penny as a couple, but I think this ep was one of their better eps (probably because Penny got to be the condescending one for once).

HIMYM was also pretty good tonight.

In other news, Sir Leon is really dreamy.

I know that this isn't exactly news, but, seriously, he's really dreamy with the rolled up sleeves and the slightly lispy accent. ♥

Do you know who else is dreamy?

ANTHONY HEAD )

I love how SERIOUS Tony and Bradley are when debating about the color blue. They are downright menacing as they look to Colin to solve their quandary.

"Have you seen teal?"
"Well you've obviously never seen blue if you think that's it!"

Heeeeeee. I love them.

PS

Had to link to the epic badass Uther montage:

I forgot to mention that I've gone and bought a Buffy doll to accompany my lonely Giles doll (and I managed to nab this one from ebay, which was selling for a significantly lower price than the one on Sideshow Collectibles, which was sold out anyway, so I had to resort to ebay no matter what). Anyway, I expect that the second it arrives I will smoosh Buffy and Giles together and make kissy noises.

Sheldon/Penny is totally taking over my life. ACK! I DID NOT NEED YET ANOTHER SHIP! And the weird part is that I didn't ship them until after I was done watching the episodes the first time through. Now I can't not ship them. I find something new to go "!!!" about during every single rewatch. And this is a seriously hopeless endeavor. The ship will never be canon. But oh how I love them! Their friendship is so dang beautiful that I think I'm pretty okay with them never turning romantic. LOOK HOW ADORABLE THEY ARE!

Is that not the cutest fanvid in existence? I am quite fond of this one, too:

Gaaaaah! *melts*

SHELDON/PENNY! THEY ARE SO, SO LOVELY! As for fic, I am still slow at sifting through them and finding ones that I love, but my current favorite is: The Crossroads Conundrum by [livejournal.com profile] she_burns1. This is a WIP that is still being written, but I couldn't contain my glee for it, therefore I am reccing it before it's even finished. IT IS SO FREAKING AMAZING, YOU GUYS! Beautifully in character and it's got me all stomach churny and invested and I LOVE IT WITH ALL MY SOUL. So uh... yeah, I definitely rec that one. Because it's awesome. Angsty with a good bit of TBBT humor thrown in.
