firthgalDon't make me fall in mad love with JB/Hye Sung if you aren't going to follow through with it. Don't give them all of the cutest moments only to end this week's episodes with JB holding Rian's hand and having a ~moment~ with her. Don't make JB and Hye Sung reminiscent of Jason/Pilsuk if you are just going to break my heart. DON'T DO IT.
I am still 100% confused on who the OTPs are, but at least now I can finally say that I am legitimately enjoying this show and becoming more emotionally involved with it. But that's mainly because of JB/Hye Sung and Yoo Jin's jealousy/failtasticness. If we go by k-drama convention, then Hye Sung is most likely going to end up with Yoo Jin. But then... Hye Sung is having all of the classic rom-com scenes with JB, and JB is pretty much head over heels for her by this point (though he still can't get over Rian, which is what is holding both he and Hye Sung back). As for Hye Sung, the show is being so vague about her feelings for both boys. I think she's going to end up with Yoo Jin simply because he's the one that affects her the most, whereas she's pretty poker-faced towards JB because she just can't believe that he'd ever like her. So... yeah, Hye Sung/Yoo Jin is probably the endgame OTP, but the show is making me fall so hard for Hye Sung/JB by giving them all of these adorable, OTPish moments. And usually with idol dramas the heroine ends up with the idol, because k-dramas are nothing if not wish-fulfillment fodder. I don't know. I just don't know. But JB/Hye Sung is owning me right now. But then I think of poor Yoo Jin and his face and I don't want him to lose Hye Sung. But then I think of JB's cold, cold heart melting the more he got to know Hye Sung, and how he found his old self through his experiences with her, and how he follows her around everywhere and gives her the most adorable smile and makes her blush, and... UGH, I CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH JB. Seriously, he was such a douche in the beginning.
I still hate Rian. It looks like she's finally on the road to rediscovering her old self like JB did, but that's just making me worry that it'll also make Rian and JB fall in love again, and just... ugh. I don't like them. Not at all. JB is not exactly the greatest actor, and you can really tell that during his scenes with Rian. But with Hye Sung? SO CUTE. SO SWEET. SO MUCH CHEMISTRY. I love them. But I also love Hye Sung/Yoo Jin. DAMN IT, SHOW, STOP PLAYING WITH MY HEAD.
In other news, I am having an epic rewatch of Brilliant Legacy/Shining Inheritance. All the promo pics from King 2 Hearts put me in a Lee Seung Gi mood, I guess. It is weird how I can find him not all that handsome yet totally dreamy at the same time. He's an enigma. Though I do think he's getting more handsome with age. Pretty sure I'll be drooling over him something fierce if King 2 Hearts ends up being good. And now it's just compulsory that I post this:
