firthgalOMG!!! ANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MICHAEL/DWIGHT!!!!!!!!! PRISON RYAN!!! AAAAAAAAAAH CAN'T WAIT CAN'T WAIT CAN'T WAIT! I sincerely hope we get some talking heads of Ryan from prison. Oh, how wonderful that would be. Even better? Clips of Michael visiting Ryan in prison. Hopefully he lent Ryan his purple "Prison Mike" doo-rag, you know, to give him that tough factor. Bwahahahahaha.
In other news, this morning I had the most glorious dream about Lassiter/Juliet. LASSITER/JULIET! I haven't thought about them since the finale, so I have no idea where it came from, but oooooooooh am I happy that it came to me! It felt so much like I was actually watching it happen. How can my brain emulate something so perfectly while I'm asleep, and yet while I'm awake I can't write a fic emulating the same damn thing to save my life? ARRRRGH! I wish I could remember the dialog word for word, because it was perfect, and hilarious, and so them, although a little more dramatic than usual. Like, I remember Lassiter punching a metal cabinet type thing in true emo fashion, and he's not emo at all. But it had validity, I swear! He was just REALLY into the moment.
So, from what I can remember, the whole gang was at this summer picnic for the department. Juliet had a new boyfriend that she had been blubbering on about to Lassiter all week, and Lassiter had a secret girlfriend that he'd been seeing for a couple months. Naturally Lassiter didn't like the boyfriend, but he was trying to be nice to him for Juliet. Lots of smiles strained with repressed jealousy. And Juliet? She was not happy when she found out that Lassi had been keeping his woman a secret from her. Especially when she realized that this woman was normal and she made Lassiter HAPPY. Juliet was a little hurt, quite jealous, and naturally she had to out-happy Lassiter, because that's just the way they are with each other. And Shawn, for some reason, was wearing a bright pink long sleeve turtleneck t-shirt, and I'm pretty sure I was laughing in my sleep. Anyway, Shawn kept trying to get in the middle of Juliet and her new boyfriend, and he keeps trying to charm Juliet, but Juliet is SO focused on making Lassiter jealous that she doesn't even bother to pay much attention to Shawn. And I remember thinking, "Where's Gus?" and I'm pretty sure I was getting irate at the show for trying to spoil the Lassiter/Juliet goodness with Shawn/Juliet (I can't even escape it in my dreams, sadly), and Lassiter was amused by Shawn messing things up for Juliet and her boyfriend (like getting her to reveal through her facial expressions that she doesn't really like the boyfriend as much as she pretends to), and Lassiter is being all smug about this, and then Juliet drags him inside some building (the station, maybe? Although inside it looked like my old college), and they're in the hallway arguing, and Juliet's jealousy and fiery spirit get Lassiter all riled up because he's so in love with her and she's making him feel like she could be in love with him too but he knows it's not possible but his current girlfriend can't even compare to Juliet in his mind and he just out of nowhere punches that metal cabinet thingy and he's like, "Damn it, O'Hara! She makes me happy! Can't you just leave it alone for once?" And Juliet gets kind of teary-eyed and she brushes past him (more like rams through him) and goes into a classroom, and he quietly follows, and she has her back to him, silently crying as she looks out the window at the festivities going on, and Lassiter walks around the room, not able to look at her, picking up random stuff and looking at it, and he says something like, "So... we like each other."
"What? Of course we like each other Carlton, we're partners."
"No, I mean... we like like each other." [Lassiter pauses] "Oh god, I'm starting to sound like Spencer."
"...Oh."
"Oh?" [he stops fiddling and looks at Juliet's back]
"You like me."
[Lassiter looks a bit deflated]"...Oh."
[she has that nervous, holding her breath kind of face] "What about your girlfriend?"
"She's not you."
"I thought she made you happy?" [her voice kind of catches at the end]
"She's not you, O'Hara." [long pause, waiting for her to turn around, takes a deep breath] "What about you and [insert hilarious insulting nickname for her boyfriend, sadly I can't remember it]? Does he really take your breath away every time he walks into a room?" [that last part is said with much contempt as he looks down and starts fiddling with something again]
[long pause, takes a breath]"Not like you."
[looks over at her with wide eyes and a "Bwah" expression]"Bwah?"
[Juliet finally turns around, gives him a soft smile]"He's not you."
Lassiter gives her a relieved/happy/proud/tender smile, and they stay like this for awhile, and just when Lassiter is about to make a move to walk towards her, Shawn busts into the room and excitedly tells them that they're going to miss Buzz trying to beat the world's record for most oreos ever stuffed into a mouth at once, and he grabs Juliet's hand, sees that she's still smiling at Lassiter and he's still smiling at her, and he asks with a little hurt in his voice, "Um... am I interrupting something?" and both Lassiter and Juliet emphatically deny that there was anything important being discussed, and Shawn drags Juliet out of the room, and Lassiter kind of chuckles and shakes his head, and now he sort of swaggers out of the room.
IT WAS SO GLORIOUS OMG! WHY CAN'T THIS REALLY HAPPEN? Now, the dialog was actually a lot more in character, that's just me remembering tiny pieces and construing it into some semblance of what it actually was, but GUYS! IT WAS LIKE IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED! Brain, I love you for giving me what Psych will never be able to. The best part? Pink-shirted Shawn realizing that Lassiter and Juliet are in love. He tried to shake it off, but he couldn't. And I know this because it was my dream, so I was throwing in all the subtext myself, so I KNOW that's what the look on his face meant. And Lassiter? He was in heaven. As was I. OMG!
I'm also ridiculously excited about Ugly Betty. I LOVE THURSDAYS!
