So, House was kind of blerg tonight. Gratuitous woman on woman. If I didn't feel like it was purely a ratings ploy, then I'd be on board with it, but... the show has never shown the sexual acts of any of its other characters. Even with House we just see a door closing. So, yeah, that turned me off. I used to adore 13 like crazy, but ever since she found out she has Hodgkin's she's been such a buzz kill. For serious. Well, I guess I would be too if I found out I was dying, but I mean that she's a story buzz kill. So freaking boring. They've somehow turned an awesome character who had a bit of mystery to her into an annoying, uninteresting character who is now defined by her disease and all the things that originally made her awesome have suddenly diminished. Ugh. I want my old 13 back. Also, giving SO MUCH screentime to one of the ducklings is never a good thing. The show is called House, not House and the Suddenly Incredibly Boring 13 Who Kisses Chicks. Call me crazy, but I prefer it when House is the A-plot, or rather, House trying to solve a disease and the ducklings are shown in small doses, and the B-plot is House stalking Wilson. I love that formula. It used to be like that all the time. Anyway, PI Guy was back, so that made me very, very happy. Sadly, there wasn't enough of him. Too much of 13. But the real winner of tonight's ep is the House/Wilson scenes. I'm pretty positive that last week's episode turned me into a H/W shipper, because damn, they are seriously making me giddy. The scene where Wilson told him that he was dating someone else? Oh man. House looked so heartbroken there.

As for the end scene, with Cuddy telling House she's adopting, what was that hurt look all about? Why would he even care? I swear it's like that came out of nowhere. He knew she was trying for a baby, didn't he? He didn't seem to have a problem with it before. And now he does? What the what? I'll be honest, I'm not liking where the show is going with House/Cuddy. I've never felt anything there on House's part beyond a sexual attraction and House's usual possessiveness of absolutely everyone that gives a damn about him. I don't see how Cuddy having a baby will encroach on her caring about him. I don't know, that was just... weird. Came out of nowhere. I get that he doesn't like change, but it's like that moment was trying too hard to be something more than that. If they're going the House/Cuddy route, then they should have built it up more this season to at least make it believable to people who have never shipped them. Instead, the show has completely sold me on House and Wilson being each other's true love (true love without sex, it's possible, watch Boston Legal if you don't believe me), and then all of a sudden they're just going to throw House and Cuddy together? WHAT? Dudes, give me more depth than banter about Cuddy's boobs and an occasional professional respect from House to Cuddy. I can buy that Cuddy loves House, because for some strange reason all of the women worship the ground that House walks on, but they should have been building up something emotional on House's part this season in order to make me believe in their relationship being more than sexual. But you know what? The show convinced me to ship House/Wilson, which I thought it would never do after seeing 4 seasons and just enjoying their scenes but not being invested in them, so perhaps it will do the same for me with House/Cuddy.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, do you guys remember that TV Guide cover where Alec Baldwin is totally checking out Tina Fey's rack? Is it wrong to just assume that it's somehow Jack/Liz subtext? I'm pretty sure the photographer was saying, "Jack totally wants to do Liz. We all know it's true." Is it wrong that I heard that in the voice of a flamboyantly gay man with crazy hair? I don't know why he has crazy hair. I don't even know who the photographer is. But seriously dudes, Alec is the only guy who can get away with something so pervy and make it look so charming. And sexy. Good lord, it's so sexy. I wish I subscribed to TV Guide, because then I wouldn't have to wait till Thursday to get that issue. Nor would I have to wait till Thursday to see the premiere. *sigh* I've started to really get my hopes up for Jack and Liz. I've been saying that I'm perfectly aware they won't end up together, but damn it, I want them to. Badly. More than I did before, because they are really starting to make me believe that it'll happen. Between Tina admitting to the sexual tension and NBC hyping up the Jack/Liz interaction and Tina saying that the show has evolved into being about the Jack/Liz friendship... ugh! STOP MAKING ME BELIEVE THAT IT'LL HAPPEN! I know this will only end in heartache. But if they don't end up together, then they at least need to make it canon that Jack is madly in love with her, because Alec cannot look at Tina anymore without pure admiration in his eyes. And that look in Subway Hero? As he watches her walk away? And he does that smile and that thing with his eyes? Oh good lord, he can't do stuff like that and expect me to not ship them. I'm just baffled by the people who are so against the ship. It's kind of hilarious how half of fandom ships them rabidly, and then the other half is like, "Whaaaat? What is wrong with you people? I don't see it at all." Of course, it seems to be that way with ALL of my ships. Although, sometimes I'm on the non-shipping side of the argument in some fandoms (ex. House/Cuddy). Anyway, that cover rules all. And because I'm feeling nostalgic, let's watch my very first favorite Jack/Liz fanvid (which was by [livejournal.com profile] scullybabe626!)

That was THE perfect song for them. Seriously. It still fits them. Oh man, THURSDAY! WHY AREN'T YOU HERE YET?

The two most important people to House are Wilson and Cuddy. I'm not saying that in a ship sense. He's known Cuddy since college and we got Wilson's back story last week.

He has a need to be deeply involved in the lives of the people he cares about. Which I felt is why they strongly emphasized House's need to know what Wilson was up to though out the episode. To show how hunt and stunned he was that Cuddy had made such a huge life changing decision and he didn't know about it.

I didn't think it was a "sudden" thing at all. I thought this show HEAVILY hinted that House and Cuddy were going to hook up. Mid to end of season 3 and then the finale of Season 4 and again with the PI a few episodes back. How "he wanted her to seem him in a different light."

Okay, his hurt definitely makes sense now, I didn't even think about it from the angle of him being hurt that he wasn't included in this life changing decision.

And, everything that you mentioned in regards to hints, for me it's always felt like he's just trying to get laid, so I would have liked more of an emotional build-up rather than a sexual one. I guess I just see Wilson as the person that he has an emotional connection with, he really can't live without him, whereas with Cuddy, he'd miss her, but he wouldn't be devastated like he was with the loss of Wilson. He just objectifies her so often that I've had trouble shipping them. There were a few moments in season 3 that felt genuine and started making me warm up to them a little, but then it went back to feeling forced for me. And this season has been so much about the House/Wilson bond that the House/Cuddy is definitely throwing me for a loop. It's like it was just an afterthought. So, the show still has a lot of convincing to do for me.

The thing is, he's already had sex with her before. So the mystery there is gone. And as Wilson said, House goes to hookers so if he just wanted to get laid there are easier ways to go about it.

I do think he'd be just as devastated if he lost her. She's saved his life both personally and professionally hundreds of times. He genuinely cares about her. I think in a sense he feels possessive over her (Tire guy, Army guy, When he thought Wilson was going out with her, etc) and bringing a baby into it compromises that.

IDK. We'll see next week.

Just jumping in to say I agree with all of this. There has been a steady (granted, at some times slow) build-up to House/Cuddy in each and every season. While in season one it was pretty much him objectifying/teasing her, season two it started to deepen, in season three it started to intensify and we got the backstory that they've slept together before, and then in four we saw the bond strengthen when she saved his life for the second time.

I'd say this has been a long time coming. But [livejournal.com profile] jenncho put what's so great about them into words so eloquently, I won't beat it to death.

Also, I always hope that Jack will check out Liz's boobs. I don't know why I am so into that.

Me too! I think it's because he doesn't seem like a jerk when he does it, as opposed to say a guy who works at my local library. Ugh.

Both of them have made ridiculous things seem hot to me. Like when he asked her to eat that steak? Yeah.

Seriously. It makes me all squirmy (and want to write fic. That would be bad as I haven't finished any of my other
30 Rock
fic/RPF. There should be a fic where food makes them uncomfortably aroused and Liz leaves crumbs all over his torso and Jack gets hot touching her mouth because it's her food hole.) and I already have trouble sleeping/concentrating.

Also, I find them both ridiculously hot together. It's insane. I even like Alec's crazy old man glasses and how all his interviews are basically him talking about Tina's hotness. Even in one of the season two DVD extras, when he's bearded and wearing a turtleneck and looking like Hemingway, he's still doing it. Plus, she's smart-funny, which gets me all the time.

I have a "Jack wants a do-over on the steak-eating and things get weird" fic on my hard drive, but it kind of doesn't have a point. Or sex, so it's yet to get finished. (I also have a food porn fic on my hard drive. A disturbing amount of my time is spent thinking of ways for Jack and Liz to do it/almost do it/make it obvious they would like to do it.)

The first time I ever saw a picture of him with that beard look (I call it his crazy old man beard, which fits right in with his crazy old man glasses), I knew that I still wanted to do him and that my life was forever changed. When I started watching this show, I didn't think I'd be crazy over how hot I find Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, but... it defines my fannish life. With sexy results.

When I started watching this show, I just wanted it to be funny and it was, but the sad/touching moments surprised me.

Also, have you seen these? I think I want to icon the one when he's in his glasses and dressed as that (Flemish?) painter. The Peter the Great one freaks me out a bit, but the prison guard one is hot. That was a weird sentence.

So, yeah, that turned me off. I used to adore 13 like crazy, but ever since she found out she has Hodgkin's

Actually she has Huntington's... Agreed with the buzzkill. Did you know they are having a foreteen (foreman and thirteen) storyline? Also another arc for her? GIVE ME A BREAK! Enough.

Oh yeah, today was P.I's last episode... I thought I would got something from you about that...

I agree. I watch it for the generalization then ship last. (I ship House/Cameron *ducks* Yet, I adore House/Wilson!!) That ship really came out of nowhere. I was surprised when it happened. The season 3 episode "Top secret" Thrown me out of loop. I went "whoa? Umm what happened? They did it right?"

I get that he doesn't like change, but it's like that moment was trying too hard to be something more than that. If they're going the House/Cuddy route, then they should have built it up more this season to at least make it believable to people who have never shipped them.

YES! That's what most of the discussion post said on [livejournal.com profile] house_cameron They should have built it with more time. It would be plausible to have a valuable explanation of the ship. The next episode it's going to be all about them and her baby. I don't hate House/Cuddy actually... they just bore me. lol. I mean the banter is funny yes, but still, it seems all for Cuddy's side.

I think all ships (except maybe House/Wilson because like you said True love without sex) for House are just doomed to fail. I still think Cameron will get a gist of it in the end I suppose. I mean, in most shows I've seen, they reevaluated the two characters that seemed canon to point at season 1. Why not explore it later on? (Blah, my optimism is killing me XD)

Also for Jack and Liz. I'm ship them too! God, I hope Tina Fey rethinks her ambitions and say Okay to them! They are awesome.

Oh wow, wait. They're going a 13/Foreman route? You know, last night I thought Foreman was going to be spontaneous and kiss her or something, but he never did.

Also, I used to ship House/Cameron, but I just can't see it anymore. I think the ship has definitely sailed on that one. I tried to be optimistic about them, but the show is pretty much phasing Cameron out, so I can't see her relationship with House coming up later, but you never know. It could happen. But the show has definitely sold me on House/Wilson now. We'll see if they can switch me to a House/Cuddy shipper. I don't hate them, but I've always found their interactions lacking in something. But it looks like next week will be all about their emotional connection, so we'll see.

In my heart, I know Jack and Liz are meant for each other. You were the one who suggested a My Fair Lady ending, right? I am really hoping for something along those lines. :)

THANK YOU, ALEC BALDWIN, for the increasingly shippy subtext. THANK YOU, TINA FEY, for the increasingly shippy situations. Please, show, don't break our hearts. :(( Heehee.

That TVGuide pic is the hottest cover since the William Petersen/Marg Helgenberger one. WHAT UP WITH TVGUIDE AND ALL THE HOT COVERS THIS YEAR? The David Duchovny/Gillian Anderson one was hot too.

And I just noticed... ALL my leading ladies in those covers were wearing red dresses. WHAT UP, RED DRESSES? Now if they just do a Rufus/Lily'esque cover with Kelly Rutherford in red or a House/Cuddy one with Lisa E in red, my life will be complete.

But if they don't end up together, then they at least need to make it canon that Jack is madly in love with her, because Alec cannot look at Tina anymore without pure admiration in his eyes. I KNOW OMG. It is so cute how much he adores her and how that so heavily influences what Jack is obviously starting to feel for Liz.

I can totally see why, though, I mean I've adored her since her early days on SNL. And that love has just grown exponentially through Weekend Update, Mean Girls, and now 30 Rock and the Palin impressions. Tina Fey may just be able to take over the world right now.

And I'm totally content living in a world ruled by Tina.

P.S. YOU ARE SO CUTE for embedding my vid! I totally forgot about that one lol. When I think of the Jack/Liz vids I've done, I just always think "This Will Be Our Year" is it, haha.

Oh man, TV Guide has been doing some awesome covers. I'm actually sad that I never renewed my subscription 3 years ago. But back then they weren't giving me anything good.

It is so cute how much he adores her and how that so heavily influences what Jack is obviously starting to feel for Liz.

YES! I don't want to get my hopes up too much because I have no idea if Alec is playing Jack that way intentionally or not, but man, he's making it so hard for me to not want them to end up together. GAH! And Alec clearly loves Tina to death. They are the most adorable BFFs ever.

You know, the weird thing with me is that I wasn't a Tina fan at all during her SNL stint. I did start liking her a little more when she was doing the weekend update, though, but I was still of the mind that she was a little pretentious? I don't know why. Because she's not. And if she is, well... I'm cool with that, because I love her too much to care.

Also, I adore that fanvid so hard. It's still in my top favorites. In fact, I think it's tied with Heartbeat for being my absolute favorite.
