Gossip Girl!

I am in love with Chuck/Blair. Like... madly, madly in love. I want to have their babies. Chuck is killing me. YOU GUYS! GAH! WHY DID I STOP WATCHING AFTER 4 EPISODES?
So... I've been watching Gossip Girl all afternoon/evening, because it was raining, so I didn't feel like being productive. And
scullybabe626's newfound love for the show made me want to watch the eps that I had missed. And... I'm addicted. CHUCK BASS OMG! Rich bad boy womanizer with daddy issues. I couldn't resist. Especially after he realized that he had butterflies for Blair. And she knows him better than anyone, knows what he's thinking just from a look on his face, and she's the only girl to ever make him actually care. Oh, YOU GUYS! He's so deliciously awful, and so is Blair, and he makes her happy only she doesn't know it, and he appreciates her the way that she wants Nate to appreciate her. And Nate is his best friend and the only person in the world that he really loves, and now he's in love with Blair, and he has to watch the two people he cares about making out with each other, and he wants to be Nate so badly that it hurts. Ooooooooh, I love him. And Blair is so manipulative, and so fragile about Nate, but with Chuck, she's strong and confident and fiery and so so perfect. AUGH, I LOVE THEM! They complete each other. And... yeah, they're both kind of evil, but that's why I love them. And... well, unrequitedness. You know I can't resist that. I LOVE THEM!
Nate's such a dull ditz. Honestly, I don't get why Chuck and Blair love him so much. I guess because he tries to be good? And they both want to be good like that but fail miserably? I don't know. And... I know people don't generally like Serena, but I kind of do. And I like Dan. But together they are so ridiculously boring. But they seem to be a beloved ship, which is just... blerg. I will never understand why the boring ships get so much love. Dan/Serena kind of reminds me of Jim/Pam in that sense. Eric/Jenny was the ship that I originally liked when I saw the first four eps, but then I started suspecting that they were related, so I'm afraid to ship them. Rufus/Lily is pretty hot, but... Chuck/Blair is the ship that stole my heart. SO MUCH LOVE!

*siiiiiiigh*
Okay, I think the next ep is loaded now. *rushes off to watch*

Date: 2008-08-28 02:24 pm (UTC)God, won me over quick. Oh, and Blair, another character who I thought I'd hate forever won me and then there was Chuck and Blair! *flails* with the scene in the Burlesque and then Chuck's awestruck expression. Oh, Chuck!

Date: 2008-08-29 05:31 pm (UTC)But yeah, they're gorgeous and evil. And I LOVE that they're so snarky with each other, like House and Cuddy just a little, but wicked. I seriously want them to take over the world and have conniving, manipulative little babies. They do have that sweet side to them, too, which I LOVE. That "accidental" sweetness, like Chuck with the butterflies, and them sleeping all cutesy together when they were plotting against Georgina. AND THEN AT THE WEDDING. lakjsdlkfajsldkfj.
Rufus/Lily owns my heart because they have such an epic backstory that we probably haven't even scratched the surface of yet. I got totally snared by that whole tortured thing between them where Rufus had no idea why Lily left him, and Lily wished she had never left. And they just make such a gorgeous team together, and... yeah. They're prettykins.
Chuck and Blair are a very delicious second-place ship, though, and those clips make me VERY excited for Monday. ♥ ♥ ♥
ETA: On the subject of Nate - I think Nate is around to be the kind of goody-two-shoes, lost-puppy-dog character on the show that is actually really boring but you can't help but feel for him and love him at least a little. I actually kinda hope a little something happens with him and Serena because I was mildly intrigued with them since the pilot.
I agree with pretty much all of this. I like Serena to a point, in that SOME part of me (still not sure what part or how) identifies with her. But she is also incredibly annoying. A lot of people defend that she's been through a lot, but the way I see it is that she CHOSE to do all the shit she did that got her in all that trouble in the first place.
And I LOVED Dan in the beginning (as a character, otherwise I didn't think he was super cute or anything), but toward the end he became kind of a douche. And don't even get me started on Dan/Serena. It's true - the boring ships get all the love, when clearly there are many more interesting ones out there to pay attention to. Plus, Dan/Serena to me is just another Ryan/Marissa (since this show pretty much IS a carbon-copy of The O.C.), and... yeah, blerg.

That would be the greatest thing in the universe. Twins. A boy and a girl.
I live for their accidental sweetness. It's so dang beautiful, and of course their usual snark keeps them from getting sappy. Gah, that wedding killed me. So much goodness. I particularly love the bit where he's saying she didn't belong with Nate and he gets close and whispers, "Never have, never will." That whisper pretty much made my soul melt.

Oh, definitely. He grew on me towards the end. I think I just hated that he was such a pushover who let everyone and everything else control him, but at the end he started taking control of his life, and the moment where he called the cops on his father, I kind of fell in love with him. He finally grew some balls. And I like that he actually tries to always do the right thing, and usually ends up fumbling, but his heart is in the right place (most of the time. Serena brings out his selfish side, so he tends to lose head about her).
I agree with everything you said about Serena. When she plays the wounded victim I start to not like her, but when she's strong I really love her. But a lot of the time I just want to strangle her.
And I was the same as you in regards to Dan. I thought he was sweet and funny and I really cared about him as a character, but then towards the end he just got douchier and douchier until I just couldn't stand him anymore. The breakup really made no sense for me. He claims to love her more than anything, and then he can't even try to forgive her for lying to him? And he's the one that cheated on her? Ugh.
It's true - the boring ships get all the love, when clearly there are many more interesting ones out there to pay attention to.
As I was searching the net, I think I was wrong about Dan/Serena being the popular ship, because it looks like there's more stuff out there for Chuck/Blair shippers, so yay me for finally falling in love with a popular ship! But Dan/Serena was pretty much the focus of season 1, and they got the media attention since they're supposedly the stars, but... whatever. We all know Chuck and Blair are the real stars. But on YouTube and whatnot people are always like, "OMG, I love Dan/Serena! They're so cute!1! Blah blah blah Dan/Serena blah blah I hope they stay together forever blah blah" and I just roll my eyes. They were too damn sappy for me. I didn't hate them though, I just didn't like them.
Plus, Dan/Serena to me is just another Ryan/Marissa (since this show pretty much IS a carbon-copy of The O.C.), and... yeah, blerg.
Oh definitely. I only watched season 1 of The O.C. way back when it was first on, but Dan/Serena are definitely reminiscent of that dynamic. I think when I watched The O.C. I was really into Seth and Summer. Or maybe I was into Seth and that girl with the short blond hair. I don't know, can't remember. Maybe I was into both? I don't know. I always meant to go back to that show but never did. I remember it moved nights or else my work schedule changed so I was never home in time to watch it, so I lost track.
