I've finished watching the entire series to date!!!  OMG!  I love Saturdays.  I get to do absolutely nothing all day and not feel guilty about it.  Anyway, much to my surprise, I am really enjoying season 4.  At least, I was enjoying it up until the Christmas episode.  Well... the CIA episode was stupid, could have done without that one, but other than that, I really enjoyed watching the competition between the 40 applicants.  And once it got cut down and the focus was mainly on 13, Taup, and Cutthroat Bitch, we got a bit of that old season 1 feel back (with House learning just as much from them as they were from him), especially the interactions between House and 13 (which are basically House/Cameron minus the UST and blind love).  I adored Big Love too, was so sad to see him go. :'(  He and Kutner had a good thing, would have totally shipped them.  With all the interesting personalities going back and forth with each other, I didn't have time to miss Cameron and Chase.  But... once House picked his final three and the competition stopped, suddenly the team was ridiculously boring and I was desperately wanting the old team back.  Plus, my favorite dynamic to watch is House/Cameron, and we only got about 2 or 3 episodes where they shared dialog together (and, really, we only got about 2 or 3 episodes where Cameron was actually present).  One thing I'm happy about is that they kept Foreman, and they've been expanding on the House/Foreman relationship.  But, the similarities between the new characters and the old ones are so incredibly obvious that I can't believe the show bothered to get rid of the already established characters (well, not "get rid of", just pushed them to the side).  13 and Kutner are a laid back version of Cameron and Chase (they even have similar interaction with each other, so I wouldn't be surprised if they get paired up later), Taup is an older, white, Jewish version of Foreman, and Foreman is the familiar cushion for the audience to adapt to change.  So basically, season 4 started out strong with an interesting, new way of doing things, but then it inevitably fell back into the old pattern, even copying the old personalities, which makes them boring since we've already seen it and we were expecting something new.  Bummer.

I did squee like a maniac in the ep with the camera crew when Cameron absently said, "I love House," and then awkwardly tried to explain away the comment.  There goes the show tugging at my shipper heart again, not letting me let it go.  Damn you, House writers!  Why do you have to keep the hope alive?  I WAS READY TO MOVE ON, DAMN IT!  Now I can't, because now I know it's not over for Cameron.  BAH! *pulls out hair*  This show loves playing with the hearts of all the shipper camps, it's utter craziness.  Also, I cracked up at the edited documentary that made House look like a saint.  Bwahahahahaha.

As for eps 11 and 12, these were the ones that started the House obsession for me (since [profile] tinted_glass convinced me to watch for the House/Wilson love) and these eps have even more meaning now than they did before.  The House/Wilson subtext is mind-boggling.  And it's interesting that all of Wilson's ex wives/girlfriends mention House as a factor in their dumping Wilson, and then the only woman who is able to take House on is the female proxy of himself.  She got House's respect, and her reason for being with Wilson was the same exact reason why House is friends with Wilson, and that seemed to be why he was able to let go and allow Wilson a bit of peace and happiness.  She sees in him what House sees.  GAH!!!  So adorable.

Anyway, I'm really starting to miss Cameron and Chase.  They barely have any reason for being on the show anymore.  Wouldn't be surprised if they get written out this season, to be honest.  Or leave.  One or the other.  I'm suspecting the actors wouldn't leave of their own volition though, because now they're doing a lot less work but are probably getting paid the same amount of money, so... not a job that I would want to leave.

Oh, have I mentioned that I have a total woman crush on 13?  Because I do.  She's basically a non-manipulative version of Cameron, so it was inevitable really (I have a woman crush on Cameron too.  Apparently I have the same taste in female employees that House does... I'm in love with his male employees too, though.  House just has good taste in employees).

1. I have a new addiction, and that is House/Cameron/Wilson guilty/needy sex fics.  Oh yes.  I especially love that both Cameron and Wilson get off on Cameron exhaling House's name when they are at their climax.  And poor House is off somewhere stewing over the fact that the two people that are his and only his are totally doing it.  OMG, I LOVE IT!!!!  Now I need a threesome fic.

2. The further I get into season 3 of House, the more I am digging House/Cuddy.  And the more I am falling in love with Cuddy.  I can't believe that I used to hate her.  What the hell was wrong with me?  She's awesome!  She just had to grow on me, I guess.  Told you I have a tendency to fall in love with characters that I originally hated.  Anyway, House/Cuddy doesn't get me excited the way that House/Cameron does, but I like House/Cameron for the ridiculously charged sexual attraction that they are both trying desperately to repress, and I love the unresolvedness/forbiddeness of it.  With House/Cuddy, they make me go, "Aww," and I've resigned myself to the fact that they would be a happy couple.  But I love miserable and tortured House and the hold that Cameron has over him.  Is it possible for me to ship both?  Is that allowed?  Because it seems like all the shipper camps for this fandom hate each other like crazy.  But I think both pairings could easily have a happy ending.  And both could easily have a non-happy ending.  It just seems like seasons 1 and 2 were all about the House/Cameron, but the robot foreplay kind of resolved the tension between them for House and the audience, so it's not as prominent in season 3 and they seem to be moving away from it.  At the same time, they are bringing more depth to the House/Cuddy relationship (it's not anywhere near as complex as House/Cameron or House/Wilson, but at least it has some substance now).  I think I can honestly say that I'd be happy with whoever House ends up with, since I seem to ship him with everyone.  House/Cam is my #1 to squee over, House/Wilson is my #1 slash, and House/Cuddy is the alternative ship that doesn't make me squee, but I enjoy watching.  In short, I really don't understand the ship wars for this show.  They are all awesome ships.

3. I may end up working for the post office, which would be awesome, because they pay decently and have excellent benefits.  It just takes forever to apply to the damn place.  I've been waiting to take the postal battery exam for about a year.  Apparently these things only come around once every three years or something, and I'm just now getting my notice that the exam is available.  And after I take the exam, I have to wait at least three weeks for the results, and after that I have to wait for an opening that I qualify for (which could be many months from now).  So... not sure how this will all work out, but hey, it gives me an excuse to continue not applying for other jobs.

4. I haven't worked on my medical coding classes in weeks.  I am totally screwing myself over.  I only have 7 more months to complete everything, and I've only completed one course (and I started way back in October).  I hate my procrastinating nature.

5. The ep of House with the autistic kid, where he gave House the PSP at the end?  I cried my eyes out.  That was absolutely beautiful.  I've worked with a few autistic kids and I loved them to death.  They're a handful, but if you figure them out, figure out how to speak their language, they are the most adorable things in the world.  It's weird how I could always get through to and figure out the autistic kids much easier than I could the normal kids...

6. The police dude that is stalking House?  He needs to go away.  Please tell me this doesn't last all the way through season 3.  It's ridiculous.

7. How sad is it that I have more to say about House than my own life? *sigh*

8. Vote yes for Lassiet.  Or rather, vote "maybe."  I guess the OP screwed up the poll.  Anyway, look at my words of wisdom on page 2 (name is gbrd).

I think I just felt my first rumblings of House/Cuddy love. :o  Just saw the ep where Wilson thinks that Cuddy asked him out on a date and House set out to prove that it wasn't a date.  Now, this was basically his need to solve a puzzle, and also his possessiveness of Wilson, BUT... the scene where House revealed that he notices that once a month he sees her walking away from the nursery with tears in her eyes, that got me.  That was the moment where I finally saw some substance in their relationship.  I still prefer House/Cameron and House/Wilson, but now House/Cuddy has officially started to grow on me.  Prior to that moment their exchanges were always:

CUDDY: Grrr, you can't do that House!  You're crazy!  Why did I hire you?
HOUSE: Because you can't resist teasing me with all that bountiful cleavage.
CUDDY: Teehee. ...I mean, grrr you make me so angry.  But I totally want to do you!
HOUSE: I like your thong.
CUDDY: *swoons*

Blech.  But now we've got some substance.  And I finally like Cuddy, by the way.  She's eased off some of the GRR-ness and is more playful.  I especially like her exchanges with Cameron, namely the one where she told Cameron that she'd be getting revenge against Foreman for stealing her article rather than forgiving him.

This show baffles me in how it gives a little something for all the shipper camps to squee about.  Sometimes all in one episode.  I think this is the most open I've been to all shipping possibilities for a show, but House/Cameron totally owns my soul (so much so that I've even decorated my new layout with them).  But it's so awesome to be completely fine with them being into other people (probably because even when they're into other people they're still into each other too).  Anyway, I'll probably have a ridiculously long post later about season 2.  Possibly even with screencaps if the finale is as hot as the House/Cam spoilers say it is.

1. Tonight's Oscars is quite possibly THE most boring broadcast ever.  OMG. *falls asleep*  I'm watching purely for a Will Ferrell appearance, but normally he would have been on by now, and he hasn't, so I'm worried that I'm watching for nothing.  I did see Steve Carell though, and he was absolutely adorable, and he and Anne Hathaway are absolutely adorable together, and that just made me even more excited for Get Smart.  I seriously cannot wait for that film to be released.  Just judging by the Oscars, he and Anne have crazy mad chemistry.  CANNOT WAIT!  Aside from that, The Oscars have sucked balls.  Jon Stewart was a snoozeroo, and of course he had to bring politics into it (even though the Oscars have nothing to do with the presidential race.  Blurgh.)  As much as Jon makes me want to go deaf so that I no longer have to hear his unfunnyness, I can't deny that he is one good looking man.

2. A perfectly normal conversation with my mother today:

MOM: *sigh* The iron caught on fire just now.
ME: ...Oh. *goes back to looking at computer*
MOM: Want to go with me to buy a new one?
ME: ... *sigh* Sure.

It just amuses me that this event was so normal that I didn't even bother to question her.  Stuff like an iron randomly blowing up happens to her all too often.

3. I'm beginning to give up hope that Will is at the Oscars.  I can't take much more of this utter boringness.

4. I am getting so incredibly addicted to the House/Cameron ship that it's sad.  I watched TB or not TB and nearly passed out from all my squeeness.  Seriously, they made me all tingly and everything.  I adore House's subtle jealousy when he sees how in awe of that doctor guy that Cameron is.  And I especially loved it when House vehemently burst into the hospital room when he saw Cameron holding the patient's hand and proceeded to trash the guy's room and turn up the heat.  I now live for the crazy House/Cameron tension.  And something else that I love is that just when Cameron thinks she's totally over House, he does something to get her full attention again (his jealous outburst at the hand holding, the niggling curiosity at the end when he asks her if she's going to date the doctor dude and then acting like he didn't care either way, then impressing her by proving that he can get people to treat him differently because he's handicapped).  And the thing is, I think he's perfectly aware whenever he draws Cameron's attention back to him.  He just can't stand not being her #1 desire, even though he doesn't particularly want to enter into a romantic relationship with her.  That's messed up, but it makes me love him even more.

5. Chase/Cameron is blurgh.  Just pretty people being pretty together.  No substance.  Blech.  Of course, I'm not a big Chase fan, so that could be a factor in it.  I love looking at Chase, and listening to his accent, but that's about it.  I would have much rather seen a Cameron/Foreman hookup. :'(

6. I loved the scenes between Cameron and Wilson in the Spin episode, where Cameron revealed that she had been tempted to cheat on her dying husband (but didn't, because she wouldn't have been able to live with herself), and Wilson talks about his indiscretions and she doesn't judge him one bit.  Her and Wilson seem to have many similar traits, which just leads me to ship House/Cameron even more, because that means that the qualities about Cameron that House is attracted to probably remind him of Wilson.  Also, Wilson and Cameron seem to be the only people who love House unconditionally (Cameron tries to hate him for certain things, but she just can't.  Her complete adoration for everything that he is always wins over her desperation to not love him).

7. I think I'm done with The Oscars now, I just can't take it anymore.

8. Since me and my parents were out buying a new iron, we got lunch at Five Guys.  Great burger for fast food, but I wouldn't award it "Best burger in [insert name of my city]," like all the award people do.  Dogwood has much better burgers, but that's just a little place out by my house, so no one knows about it except for people who live at the lake.  The fries were full of awesome though, especially with the malt vinegar.

9.  My sis-in-law told my nephew to stop talking back to her, and he says, "NO!  Stop talking front to me, mommy."  Bwahahahaha.  I love the little bugger.  He also spilled his water at the dinner table (twice) and he was sitting on my mom's lap at the time, and after they got it all cleaned up, he went to sit on my mom's lap again and he said, "AH, YOU'RE WET!  Why did you spill water all over yourself, Grandma?" *sigh*  And when he snuck into my dad's chair when he was up getting something, my dad was acting like he was going to sit on him, and my nephew screams, "NO NO, GO AWAY!  I DON'T LIKE ASHLEY!" :o  Wha???  I get blamed for him almost getting sat on by my dad?  Psh, no fair.

10. Yeah, I'm definitely done with the Oscars.  After this song.

Why did I stay up till 3:30 last night watching House?  Seriously, why did I do that?  My parents dragged me out of bed at 7:30, so I got a total of 4 hours of sleep.  But I'm not really a nap person (kind of hard for me to sleep when it's light outside), so instead of catching up on my sleep, I ended up watching more House. *sigh*

I'm now completely finished with season 1.  Was left feeling a little meh at the end (probably because I'm tired).  But I loved seeing House being miserable after Cameron quit.  And I also loved his face when Wilson was teasing him and let House think that he had put the moves on Cameron.  Total lost puppy dog look, like, "How could you do that to me?"  Hee.  He may not be in love with her, but he's certainly territorial over her.  I also loved seeing the failed House/Cameron date (and I adored House psychoanalyzing Cameron instead of her doing it to him, and being completely right).  As much as I adore House/Cameron, I think what intrigues me the most is how much it is doomed.  Cameron's complete naivete is incredibly endearing to me for some reason.  And obviously it is to House too.  But she'll just say these things out of nowhere, and you'd think House would rip her apart, but instead he gets baffled and she makes him think.  And she annoys him a little bit, too, which is always good.  It's definitely an opposites attract thing, which is what I live for when it comes to TV romances.

I'm actually kind of shocked that I like House/Cameron considering it was set up as a canon ship.  Usually I tend to be adamantly against canon ships, but maybe it's the "not quite sure what the future holds for them" aspect of it.  And the age gap kind of gives it a forbidden aura, which also intrigues me.  But most of all I adore how much Cameron's innocence affects House.  She makes him believe in humanity again.  It's just a beautiful thing to watch.  But what House said on their date pretty much sums up their relationship.  She doesn't love, she needs him, she needs to fix him, because that's what she does, and that's purely why he intrigues her so much.  But... I think he also needs her.  He needs to be around her, he needs to know that she cares, he needs to know that someone wants to fix him (even though he doesn't want to be fixed).  He needs to be around her self-sacrificing goodness, because that's a quality that he believes himself incapable of having.  But I think that's all it will ever be for them.  Fascination.  A burning need to be around each other.  Totally wanting to jump each other's bones.  But not love. :'(  House will never let her in that far.  So... my makeshift ship since House/Cameron is forever doomed (and because House will only ever truly love Wilson)?  Cameron/Foreman.  I adore their dynamic, and Foreman is basically a well adjusted version of House.  There's nothing there for Cameron to fix, so it would actually be based on love.  And it would metaphorically be satisfying my House/Cameron love.  Anyway, that's just my pipe dream ship.

What I liked about the last couple of episodes was seeing how different House is when love interferes in his life.  We know that he's a deeply caring individual, but he always hides this as much as he possibly can.  When Stacy came into the picture, he was pretty much wearing his heart on his sleeve, and he saved her husband purely because his love for her made him want to see her happy.  His face at the end, where he's watching Stacy and her husband in the hospital bed, was absolutely heart breaking (as was Cameron's realization that he'd never love her like he loves Stacy).  You just feel his misery, his emptiness at not being able to make love work, his feeling of being doomed to live out the rest of his life all alone. :'(

Another interesting scene, the one between Wilson and House where Wilson is packing up his stuff to leave (because Vogler forced him to resign for not voting to fire House).  Wilson protected his friend to the end, and he was so devastated that House couldn't do something as simple as giving a speech.  House would rather satisfy his principles than protect Wilson.  So not cool.  But oh, how glorious was it to hear House confirm that their friendship is important to him?  Wilson is the one person that House doesn't have any trouble reciprocating affection with.  Well... he's still emotionally stunted, but at least with Wilson he's not in complete denial.  Wilson is the one person in his life that will always be there for him, even when House completely screws him over.

Anyway, I guess it's clear who my favorite characters are.  House, Cameron, Wilson, and Foreman.  Chase is just there to look pretty for me.  Cuddy's just... there.  The House/Cuddy dialog got more interesting at the end of the season, but I'm still not feeling the love for them.  I think I've figured out why though.  As I was looking at all my OTPs, I noticed that with all of my favorite het pairings, the women are ridiculously naive (yet bold), and the men are brilliant but emotionally handicapped (the exception being Daniel/Betty, where Daniel is kind of a ditz (and emotionally scarred rather than handicapped)).

So, now that I've finished rambling, I'm probably going to stay up until 3:30 again watching season 2 of House. *shakes head at self*  Actually, SNL returns tonight, and Tina Fey is the host, so I might curl up in bed and watch that at 11:30.

Oh!  And one more thing.  I demand that you all read this ridiculously amazing Lassiet fic by [personal profile] piecesofalice, because it is quite possibly the most squee-inducing thing that I have ever read in my life.  I literally cried tears of joy because it was that good.  It definitely left me breathless.  OMG, I LOVE FLUFFY LASSIETNESS!!!!

I AM NOW ADDICTED TO HOUSE!!!  OMG!  Why did I resist this show for so long?  I'm still not a fan of the bodily fluids and whatnot, but I'm starting to get over that.  Anyway, just watched the ep where we find out that Cameron used to be married.  Wow.  Was not expecting that.  And the moment that she and House shared was definitely squee-worthy.  OMG!!!!  I am seriously digging House/Cameron.  But I can't fully ship them, because at this point, I can still only see Wilson as the person who completes House... even though he's a guy... and they're both straight.  But I am really, really loving the dynamic between Cameron and House.  I don't understand all the Cameron hate on my f-list.  Maybe I'm just not far enough into the series yet, but just about every House/Cameron scene since the ep where she gave him a Christmas present has been making me embarrassingly squeeish.  She definitely intrigues him, and it always shocks me when he doesn't scare her away when she's being nice to him (the Christmas present, her telling him Happy Birthday).  It's just... gah, I knew that I'd fall for this pairing.

Anyway, back to House/Wilson.  I adored that House could tell that Wilson was interested in someone just by looking at his tie.  He knows his wardrobe by heart!!!  And of course he has to meet her.  And I love that when House confuses everyone else, Wilson knows exactly what is going on in House's head.  He gets him completely.  Squeeeeeee!!!!  Ooo, the next ep has finally loaded.  Before I go, here's another meme (by request of [profile] tinted_glass, because she's nosey):

I think [profile] tinted_glass has achieved the impossible... she's gotten me into House!  Well... maybe.  I watched eps 11 and 12 of season 4 (for the fluffy goodness that is House/Wilson), and I just now watched the pilot the whole way through for the very first time and am waiting for the second ep of season 1 to load. A good sign is that I didn't cringe and turn it off like I usually do, so I think I just might become a House fan!  I really don't care for the going inside the body stuff and whatnot, but I guess I can get used to it.

Anyway, what I liked about the pilot:

1. The first shot of House is of him and Wilson walking side by side (extremely closely, just one step away from holding hands), and pretty much bickering like an old married couple.  They have an instant established familiarity with each other.
2. The show ended with House and Wilson.  So the fact that our first glimpse into House's life contains Wilson, and the fact that the show ends with them, tells me that this relationship is his most important one.  I considered that ending to be him "coming home" to Wilson.
3. Wilson acknowledging that House cares about him.  Also, his loving explanation of House being a good doctor vs a good man.  He wasn't putting him down, he was just showing how well he gets House, and how well he accepts him.
4. The tension between House and Cameron.  I'm sorry folks, but I loved it!  I know that the majority of House fans on my flist are House/Cuddy shippers, but I just wasn't feeling that at all.  Not one iota.  That may change the further into the series I get, but for het couples I tend to go for those mentor/mentee falling in love type deals.  I blame that on my tendency for always falling for my male teachers.  Anyway, as much as I loved their tension, I think it's pretty clear that no one will ever be more important to him than Wilson.
5. *shallow alert* Chase is hot.
6. I adored Omar Epps (can't recall the name of his character)
7. House (the character) is just awesome in every way.

What I didn't like:

1. The medicalyness.  Ick.  Blood, over-my-head conversations, the inside-the-body shots...  No thank you.
2. Didn't much care for Cuddy, but as I said, that could change over time.
3. It's still a little bit boring, but I'm getting better at keeping my attention on what's going on.  I'd rather the show be more character-focused rather than so centered around the medical plot, but I have that problem with my lawyer shows too and have learned to live with it.
