Thursday night done right

- COMMUNITY! This show is shaping up to be so much better than my initial judgment of it. And do you know why? Because it is properly using its ensemble and making Jeff less douchey (or, more of a lovable douche, I guess). I think this is the first ep where I loved each and every character a ridiculous amount. Especially Annie. And... I think I ship Annie/Senor Chang? Oh god, they are hot in a creepy sort of way. Mind you, I also loved Annie/English Professor Dude and Annie/Abed, and even Annie/Troy a little bit, so I suppose I ship her with just about everyone. But Annie/Senor Chang is my OTP as of this moment. Also, Jeff and Shirley make the greatest BFFs ever. And Jeff/Britta did not annoy the crap out of me during this episode! And I loved the hippie dude with the little nipples! So, yeah, I dug it. Definitely the best episode this season.
- PARKS AND REC! Once again, hilarious. I sort of can't get over how consistently hilarious this show has been this season. And I really can't get over how much I love Leslie/Dave. THEY ARE SO CUTESY, AND YET THEY MAKE ME GIGGLE LIKE A SCHOOLGIRL! I love them. And I continue to sort of ship Ron/April (but not really, because my heart still belongs to Leslie/Ron, but, you know, Ron and April make me laugh).
- THE FREAKING OFFICE! Ooooooh, I loved it. I got a little tired towards the end as I usually do when this show is an hour long, but for the most part it was highly enjoyable. I think I was expecting more from it since it was supposed to be such an epic episode, but I guess it was epic for the Jim/Pam shippers, so the show covered that part of it (I was wrong, by the way, didn't cry at all. I did, however, cry at the promo that they kept showing before the episode, so I don't know if that counts or not).
I think I am just bummed that this episode kind of destroyed my hopes for Oscar/Andy. I mean, I never actually thought that Oscar/Andy was a possibility, but I sort of did? I don't know. I just hate that my worst fears have happened and that Andy questioning his sexuality really was just a one-off thing for the laughs and not actual character development. And I just find Andy/Erin to be the most boring match-up for Andy in the history of The Office. There is no real comedic gold to be had there. I wasn't a fan of Andy/Angela, but at least they were utterly hilarious together. Andy/Erin is just too... easy, and nothing is supposed to be easy for Andy. We love him so much because he tries so desperately hard and usually ends up failing miserably when it comes to the big picture (he is sort of the opposite of Michael in the sense that Andy wins the little battles but not the war, while Michael has a tendency to lose every single battle and somehow accidentally win the war). Plus, Erin doesn't exactly have a personality of her own yet, so pairing her off this early on in her conception is kind of a bad move. So, I am not a fan of this pairing at all, and even if I wasn't so deep into Oscar/Andy, I would probably still be against this pairing (I mean, come on, if he had to hook up with another office chick, WHY COULDN'T IT HAVE BEEN KELLY? DAMN IT, SHOW! YOU'RE PUTTING HIM WITH THE WRONG KELLY! ARRRRGH!).
Anyway, let's move onto the happy:
1. ANDY IN HIS ARGYLE SWEATER VEST! OMG, I LOVE HIM!
2. Michael and his decorated car! Oh, man, that was so beautifully Michael. It's all about him. It's HIS big day, and he's going all out for it.
3. DWIGHT'S SEDUCTIVE MIX CD FOR MICHAEL! Oh god, it was so, so creepy and the bit where Dwight's voiceover wistfully says, "Oh, to be in your shoes," just proved that he wants to do Michael. I KNEW IT! I FREAKING KNEW IT! Actually, I think he wants to be a woman that Michael seduces, which... I... IS IT ANY WONDER THAT I SHIP THESE TWO?
4. Andy driving the Kellys! The Kellys being total BFFs! Andy's failed attempt to get Kelly Erin to sit in the front seat! SHE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE KELLY ALL ALONE! Obviously Kelly/Erin and Andy/Oscar is the way to go, show. DO IT.
5. "Breaking in the beeeed." I love, love, LOVE his little proud chuckle after he says that. Have I mentioned lately how dreamy Ed Helms is? I don't think I have. I've been too distracted by that older British fellow that giggles a lot. So, let me say it now. ED HELMS IS DREAMY, YOU GUYS.
6. Dwight tricking Michael into proving that he'd never share his room with Dwight. BURN! Oh, Michael, you know how to fail. At everything. Even booking a hotel room. I love that in the following scenes, despite all of Dwight's protests, it is obvious that he ended up sharing his room with Michael. Well, you know, until Dwight got laid.
7. Dwight sitting at the children's table! And telling them a tale about that awfulJim bad man that stole his job!
8. OSCAR AND KEVIN! OSCAR'S VEHEMENT INDIGNATION AT KEVIN BEING MISTAKEN FOR HIS DATE! Oh man, Oscar is the snobbiest snob of all snobs. I love him. KEVIN WOULD BE HONORED TO HAVE OSCAR AS HIS DATE, OMG! Honestly, Kevin is such a sweetheart that I kind of hate the fact that people look down on him so much. I mean, yeah, he does gross things, and he's kind of slow on the uptake, but he giggles at dirty jokes and is totally pleased with a complimentary breakfast in exchange for the hotel incinerating his only pair of shoes! He is like my dream man. Obviously I aim high. But he's so sweet! I love him. And I love his love for Oscar's silky Latino hair.
9. ANDY CRYING AT JIM'S SPEECH! ANDY CRIES A LOT! ♥ ♥ ♥
10. Pam's grandmother being the exact image of what Angela will be like in 40 years.
11. Jim's brothers being more obnoxious than Michael!
12. DWIGHT IS A TOTAL SEX MACHINE! Which we already knew, but it's always nice to be reminded.
13. TWINS! Oh god, I laughed and laughed and laughed at that. It was so stupid, but oh how I adored it.
14. Oh, I forgot to mention the cold open! Where they all puked! And Creed watched in wonder while scarfing down his lo mein! Oh, Creed.
15. ANDY INJURING HIS SCROTUM FROM AWESOME DANCING. Oh god, you knew he was going to hurt himself when he did the splits, but I was not expecting him to stab himself in the scrotum with his car keys.
16. PAM/ANDY IS A THING OF BEAUTY! They need more scenes of awesome together.
17. Pam ripping her veil and Jim cutting his tie! That whole scene in general was beautifully done.
18. "I thought maybe the wood was too hard on your penis." I'm sorry, but that just sounded so, so dirty to me. I totally had my Kevin giggle going on there. Aside from that line, I kind of hated this scene, because, UGH, it is just the writers oversaturating us with cute. It does this with all of its MEANT TO BE!!!1!! romances and I just... Andy cannot be in a happy, well-adjusted relationship! He just can't! The whole point of his character is that he gets knocked down and gets back up again, and then gets knocked down even worse and bounces back yet again, and then he basically gets knocked down and stomped on and he reevaluates himself and comes back with a new perspective on life perky as ever and starts the whole process all over again. Erin is too sweet to ever do any of this to him, you know? If this was the last season, I would probably like this ship. Or if it's leading to Andy discovering that he's gay, then heck yeah I'll support it. But based on this show's tendency to be disgustingly obvious who all the true loves are, it looks like Erin/Andy is headed that way, and just... BLERG. I am still convinced that Oscar has a crush on Andy and that was part of the reason why he was so vehement in denying that he's dating Kevin. He doesn't want Andy to think that he's unavailable! (work with me here, people)
19. Michael painted a picture of Jim and Pam in the nude. For himself.
20. The dancing down the aisle thing? SO PREDICTABLE. Somehow I knew they would do this. And it's not even entertaining because it is SO OVERDONE, and yet it works, because that was the point. Plus, we got to see The Office cast getting their groove on, which is always a good thing. Especially when there are walkers involved. And Oscar dancing like Sprockets.
21. I adored how Jim and Pam's ceremony on the boat was interspersed with the dancing down the aisle thing. Cheesy? Yes. But beautiful nonetheless. I don't remember what Jim's last line was at the end of the episode, I just remember that it made me tear up a little bit. Also, I love how the wedding with the falling water was a great callback to the proposal in the pouring rain.
22. I think How I Met Your Mother has ruined all wedding episodes for me, because that show did it SO RIGHT for Marshall and Lily that I was kind of unaffected by Jim and Pam's wedding, which is sad. But anyway, the episode was pretty good.
23. KEVIN ICING HIS FEET! I hope that Angela ended up needing ice that night. :x
- It's Always Sunny was kind of terrible tonight. I don't know what's up with this show. It used to make me laugh harder than anything. Now I just tend to shake my head at it. BUMMER. Although, the salting thing cracked me up pretty hard, so... at least there was that.
