I did nothing yesterday except watch Korean dramas and read Christoph Waltz porn all night. OMG, I LOVE THE PORN BATTLE. Do you know how devastated I was when there wasn't a summer one? But OMG, it was so worth the wait. Though I do feel weird for so thoroughly enjoying the Django/Broomhilda/Schultz fics. I mean, I didn't ship Schultz with either of them while watching the film, and I still don't ship him with them in a sexy way (I kept giggling during the sex scenes in the fics), but ooooooooh how happy they could have been together! Schultz could have been the lovable, goofy uncle that always had an awesome story to tell while Django and Broomhilda were the kickass parents with the most epic love for each other and their family, and just... *sniff* And yeah, naturally Schultz would get lonely being around Django and Broomhilda, but that's when he can meet me, see, and we fall in mad love and have a bunch of babies together and our families live together in happiness forever. I am not usually a fan of self-insert fics, but apparently when it comes to King Schultz, I so am. My two favorites from the battle:

California by transmacabre (angsty and guuuuuuuh and I feel like they could have been this way for real, only, you know, without the Django/Schultz/Broomhilda kissy times, although this fic came very close to making me believe in that aspect of their relationship, too)

Dead or Alive by malkontent (Schultz/OFC, the Schultz dialog in this is flawless. I wish the author would write a full-length Schultz prequel to the film, OMG).

I am kind of shocked at the lack of Candie/Django fics. I was basically shouting, "Just make-out already!" in my head every time they had a scene together, but I guess people are too afraid to broach that in fic (way too offensive, but, you know, Django would be the dominate one, always). Or even Candie/Schultz fic, since Candie's final confrontation in the film was with Schultz. Or Django/Broomhilda, because their love truly was epic. IDK, but I love the fact that most Django fic is all about Schultz.

Also, there are two Hans Landa/Bridgette Von Hammersmark fics that are SO FREAKING GOOD, OMG. I died. They killed me with their dirtybadwrong sexiness.

Play Dead by lion_heart (Bridgette getting sweet, sweet revenge)

Lying Eyes by lion_heart (Hans is scary sexy. Literally).

On the Korean drama front, I checked out Level 7 Civil Servant and I am quite enjoying it. I mean, I wouldn't call it good considering there are many bits that I ended up fast forwarding through, but the bickering chemistry between the main couple is enough to keep me coming back for more. They are just so damn entertaining together, I can't get enough of them. But when they aren't together, the flaws of the show are too much to take. The parents of both of them are annoying and need to go, the female lead's over-the-top Candy characterization doesn't work for her in the least, the supporting characters aren't very interesting at this point (the parents, the teacher, the bad guys), and the damn show takes way too long to set up a premise that we knew from the beginning. It should have gotten to the bickering hijinks a lot sooner. On the upside, I am digging the spy school stuff, and I am loving Gil Ro's rival (I forget his name, but the dude that got shot by the little girl). And as I said, the two leads are highly entertaining together, so I quite love them (except, you know, when they're apart. Gil Ro is okay on his own, but not very interesting. The girl is annoying/kind of weak on her own, but awesome and strong and witty when she's with Gil Ro). There's a scene in the preview for next week where Gil Ro is yelling at her and says, "Why do you let yourself get treated that way?" and I really have to agree with him. She doesn't let him get away with treating her badly, and yet she's letting the other recruits walk all over her. Grow a spine, damn it! It's just frustrating that she sometimes has one and sometimes doesn't. A lot of people are complaining that Joo Won is too over the top, but I actually think he's done exceptionally well with the material he's been given. In fact, I am enjoying him much more here than I did with Gaksital.

I am still very much enjoying Flower Boy Next Door. I am so, so happy that we are finally getting some decent rom-coms again.

I CANNOT STOP WATCHING THIS VID. AND SINGING ALONG.

LORD, PLEASE SAVE ME. I am even doing the little heart motion with my hands. *facepalm* I blame Walmart, that place is like Justin Bieber (Beiber?) central. Do you know how many t-shirts with Justin's face on them come through my line? And often times, the little girls are already wearing a shirt with him on it. And, oh god, the Justin dolls. And his *laughs* autobiography! And his posters. And his CDs. Ugh. Ugh ugh ugh. Was Walmart like that back in the days of N'Sync and Backstreet Boys and Hanson? Because I kind of used Walmart as my country music sanctuary back then, so I must not have noticed. I'm kind of surprised there's not more Jonas Brothers stuff. I guess they're old news now that the Beeb is out there. Anyway, at least this vid is using the Glee version of this ridiculous song, but is it really that much better? I don't know, I don't know.

Hey, guess what, guys! I ACTUALLY HAVE SOME JEFF/ANNIE FICS RECS! This is a momentous occasion, because I haven't enjoyed any J/A fics in months, but these two are pretty magnificent:

of all the gin joints by [livejournal.com profile] youcallitwinter - Technically this is more Annie-centric than Jeff/Annie-centric, but it's one of the greatest Annie POVs I've ever read, and it just rings so true to how hopeless everything feels when you have a crush on somebody and no one takes you seriously. It captures Annie's naivete really well, but it also captures her determination and how serious things are to her, even if no one believes her. This is my view of the Annie character through and through, which is why I think I enjoyed this fic so thoroughly. (also, this author wrote one of my favorite Will/Rachel fics awhile back)

That's When I Knew... by [livejournal.com profile] _carly_ - I'll just admit it right now, I'm kind of a sucker for pre-established relationship fic when it comes to Jeff/Annie. I just really enjoy seeing how people envision them as a couple, and this one pulled it off quite well. I think what I enjoy more though is that it's more of an ensemble piece, and the author uses the ensemble to create a picture of their relationship through flashbacks, and it's just the sweetest thing ever. I love it.

Hey howdy hiiiiiiii. LOOK AT THIS VID, THEY ARE THE CUTEST!

♥ ♥ ♥ I am so, so in love with that cheesy drama. This last ep (6, I think?) was all over the place and incredibly hard to follow (could have just been the subtitles), BUT OMG, I LOVED IT. It contained like every single k-drama cliche there is ALL IN ONE EPISODE. Well, okay, the "one half of the couple gets sick and the other takes care of them" took place in the ep before it, but... it sort of carried over in the first couple of minutes, so it totally counts. Oh, these two, they are so super adorable, and they are both so damn gorgeous to look at, good god. It is sad how much I love the shallow rom-coms. The ones that break away from the mold and/or are groundbreaking tend to not please me as much, because I am lame. LAME LAME LAME.

Anyway, I've really been looking forward to the Porn Battle this season. Why? BECAUSE I NEEDED MORE WILL/RACHEL PORN IN MY LIFE, OBVIOUSLY:

Theatre Kids by [livejournal.com profile] ladyofspring - Technically, this is Matt/Lea (which I prompted for! One of my prompts actually got filled!!!) and oooooooh did I love it. PORN. WITH PRETTY PEOPLE. GOLDEN GLOBES. LIMO.

How Hard We Try by [livejournal.com profile] myr_soleil - JEALOUSY. Which I think was also one of my prompts? SCORE! But, the best part about this fic? She took that prompt and turned it into angry sex, and ho boy, the intensity between Will and Rachel works perfectly for angry sex. JUST SAYING.

Through the Line by [livejournal.com profile] ellydash - technically not a porn battle fic, but I am including it with this list anyway because GOOD GOD, HOTTEST WILL/RACHEL FIC IN EXISTENCE. And so magnificently in character to boot. I mean, Will and Rachel would probably never actually have phone sex on the show, HOWEVER, if they did, I feel like it would be exactly like this fic. And I loved how the author captured Will's douchey self-pitying nature and still made us see where he was coming from, and it made the phone sex all the more believable. So, yeah, I def rec this one. IT WAS HOT.

And now have a fanvid, because THEY ARE SO PRETTY.

Also, this one amused me:

firthgal: (glee - will rachel 3)
Will/Rachel is still causing hearts to emit from my eyes. It's quite sad, really. BUT THEY ARE SO ADORABLE. And tonight I just had to rewatch ep 2x09 purely for their sexyhotunf fight where Will tells Rachel to "TAKE THAT OFF!!!" He throws papers and everything! And Rachel looks scared for one split second! And after he lists her many frustrating flaws, she just jumps right up and screams back at him and I love how equal they are there despite the fact that Will's the teacher. Gaaaaah, how are they so awesome when they argue? I mean, it's all well and good when they are being sweet and supportive with each other or when Will is all googly-eyed over her performances and ready to draw gold stars around her name in a notebook (because Rachel would so prefer her name being in stars rather than hearts), but good lord do I love it when they lay into each other. Their fights are even more intense than the Will/Sue ones (although the Will/Sue ones involve more invading of personal space and curly hair discrimination). I just love how Rachel always manages to get genuine emotion out of Will. The kind of genuine emotion that I just don't feel from him with anyone else (and I think his fakeness is what keeps me from liking him most of the time. He comes across as an insincere douchebag at least 75% of the time, but with Rachel he suddenly learns how to have a natural interaction with someone). I do think his scenes with Sue come out pretty well, though, but those are full of hate and amusement and sometimes begrudging respect, but not much else. With Rachel he runs the gambit of pretty much every emotion ever, and it comes across naturally instead of over the top or insincere. They just... they have amazing chemistry and I wish the show would explore their relationship more. Especially since their lives always seem to parallel each other's. And, yeah, I'll say it, I totally wish the show would go there, give us a totally inappropriate teacher/student romance with Will and Rachel that stays mostly innocent but the UST becomes canonically confirmed and they both struggle to keep their feelings in check, and it comes about because they connect over winter break and they are both kind of in the same place of feeling rejected and lonely and they find solace in each other and just... I WISH THIS WOULD HAPPEN. The show would be infinitely more interesting, despite the viewer complaints that I'm sure the relationship would get. But, you know, if Pretty Little Liars and Life Unexpected can go there, then surely Glee could, too! (of course, with both of those shows the couples meet before the girls are aware that the guys are their teachers, but pfft, that is a complete cop-out, which is why Will/Rachel would be 20 times better). Yeah, yeah, never gonna happen, but a girl can dream.

This amused me:

(from fuckyeahwillrachel)

Bwahahahaha, so true, so true. Dude is obsessed with Rachel, forever and always. And it's kind of interesting how Rachel is often interrupting Will and Emma's ~moments. You'd think that role would go to Terri, but, nope, it's Rachel more often than not. Which just makes me love her more than I already do, BECAUSE HAVE I MENTIONED HOW MUCH I ABHOR WILL/EMMA? YES? TOO MUCH? Okay. No, but seriously, Emma better stay with Carl and be super happy and have adorable babies with him and appreciate the fact that he's a supportive husband who actually cares about what she needs and isn't completely obsessed with himself. Just, Carl is so good for her. Never have I liked Emma more than I have since she's been with Carl, and PLEASE SHOW, DON'T LET THEM BREAK UP. I'm hoping that the show will be unpredictable for a change and just drop the Will/Emma and Rachel/Finn storylines, because the show has run its course with those. Just chalk it up to "not meant to be" romances and let them move on to other people. PLEASE. Rachel/Finn isn't quite as offensive as Will/Emma is, but season 2 Rachel is not my favorite Rachel, and I think it's mostly because Finn's boringness kind of rubs off on her. And, I'm sorry, but Finn being all high and mighty and breaking up with Rachel over her making out with Puck? Uh... didn't he makeout with Rachel when he was still dating Quinn? So, yeah, Rachel should just forget his hypocritical ass and move on to someone new, preferably someone who does not dim her spirit. Remember Jesse? Aside from the whole deceit thing (and the eggs *sniff*) Jesse was the perfect boyfriend for Rachel. He was hilarious and egotistical and douchey and he handled numerous things badly, but he somehow made Rachel shine even brighter. Finn... kind of just drags her down. He was a good first boyfriend, but that's all he should really be.

OH GOD, WHY AM I TALKING ABOUT GLEE IN SUCH OBSESSIVE DETAIL? Last night I listened to Endless Love on repeat for like an hour. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BECOME. Also, I watched Matt and Lea singing "Damn it, Janet" more times than is healthy:

*swoons*

Oh, oh, more fic recs! This is probably the last of them, because I'm pretty positive that I have now checked out every single Will/Rachel fic in existence, which saddens me:

mon petit volcan by [livejournal.com profile] goddesspharo - A very short piece, but I adored the format and how the author got so much across in such few words. That last line is so tragically true, which kind of breaks my heart.

Confessional by [livejournal.com profile] plazmah - This one is an episode coda from season 1 where they went to the Invitational, and it captures their relationship within canon pretty darn well, while also leaving it open-ended for something to happen between them in the future, and I really enjoyed it.

This City Is For Strangers - by [livejournal.com profile] youcallitwinter - This one is so, so good. The format is a little confusing, I suppose, since the author makes Will so rambley with all those parentheticals, but I am kind of fond of that style myself, so I enjoyed what the author did with it here. Anyway, this one was a great insight into Will's conflicted feelings for Rachel (conflicted meaning that he goes from frustrated to amused to angry to fond to frustrated again whenever he sees her), and I love how their conversation is so very awkward and yet Rachel is so straightforward but you can feel her embarrassment/uncomfortableness whenever she brings up her past crush on Will and she is just so very her, and the ending, oh, the ending! The ending is utter perfection. And this fic takes on a theme of Rachel being so many almost-things to Will and it was such an awesome assessment of their relationship, and... yeah, I loved this one.

In other news, I have now seen the first ep of Dream High, and I am kind of in love with it. I suppose the episode itself was kind of directionless through much of the first 45 minutes, but for now I will just chalk that up to the show having to get out a whole lot of background info on a whole lot of characters in a short period of time in order to get the story rolling by the second episode. I was not enchanted by what I assume is the main love story (Hye Mi and Taecyeon's character), but I was pretty in love with Go Hye Mi. She reminds me a bit of Rachel Berry, if I'm honest, only with the poise and bitchiness of Quinn Fabray thrown in. I've seen a lot complaints about Hye Mi, but I guess I just have a thing for blunt, overbearing, egotistical characters who have completely alienated themselves from everyone around them and are basically their own downfall. The show has to make her sympathetic to the audience at large, so I'm sure the world will just keep knocking her down and she'll eventually learn how to be humble and what friendship is and all that jazz, but it is just refreshing to have an imperfect heroine on a k-drama geared toward the younger crowd. And when I say imperfect, I guess I mean a heroine who does not do the noble thing and is in no way the nice girl. Her flaws are in her personality and not her social standing (although she is the rich girl gone poor, so I guess her social standing is an obstacle, too). Basically, I look forward to watching this character grow, and it is not often with this type of show where I am into the character more than the romance. As much as I love k-dramas, the heroines are often not all that complex (City Hall being the exception), so it's nice to see a heroine who may actually get legitimate character development.

On the downside, the hero is boring. Boring boring boring, but I guess the show hasn't really gone into detail with him yet, so that could change. But it's just interesting how I don't really mind when the heroine is plucky and flawlessly noble and kind of one note, but when it's the hero that is that way, I just don't find him challenging enough for the heroine. I don't know. It's weird. But because of my disinterest in the hero, I found myself shipping Hye Mi with the most inappropriate dudes ever. I freaking loved her chemistry with the teacher who had seduced her mother. Just, the way she flummoxed him, it was adorable! I don't know how that dude is so charming considering the fact that he was the cause of Hye Mi's parents' divorce and he kind of fails at being a teacher, but I am in love with him. But then, BUT THEN came her face-off with Bae Yong Jun's character, and GOOD LORD WAS THAT INTENSE. I loved it. LOVED IT. And, yes, if he becomes her mentor, I will end up shipping the crap out of that.

I'm guessing that Hye Mi's friend will become the villain? Which is quite a twist since she started out with the traits of the typical heroine of a k-drama while Hye Mi started with the traits of a typical villain. I am interested to see where the show takes these characters.

I hate tumblr! I hate I hate I HATE STUPID TUMBLR! (I was totally channeling Hook there, did you notice? No? Too dorky for you? Okay. Oh gosh, through related videos I just found this, AND IT IS AMAZING! Ahahaha, had that song existed when I was 6, I would have been obsessed with it). Anyway, before I got sidetracked there, I was talking about my ire for Tumblr. UGH, I HATE IT. What is up with the search function? Why do people tag stuff so drastically different so that I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING? How do I make the pictures/posts bigger so that I can actually SEE them? My poor, poor eyes are straining like the constipated devil on a toilet. Ugh, why is all the good stuff at that confounding website? Hmph. And now, when I go to tumblr.com, it won't let me search without signing up first. WTF is that? Bastards. I guess I have to make one eventually since most of my flist has set up shop there, but ugh. I DON'T LIKE IT. Mind you, I always say that about new things, and then once I get used to them I fall in love, but... I HATE TUMBLR.

My reasoning for venturing to Tumblr, as you may have well guessed, is that I've pretty much replaced Jeff/Annie in my heart with Will/Rachel. HOW DID THIS EVEN HAPPEN? I mean, I've always shipped them, but I've never really been into the fandom aspect of them because I do NOT want to get so ridiculously invested in them, because if I get invested in something on Glee, I AM BOUND FOR HEARTBREAK. Just, no, world, DON'T LET ME GET INVESTED. But here I am, reading awful fic about them and enjoying it, obsessively watching their scenes together and finding all the little things that I had missed before, drooling over pretty GIFs and picspams, and... well, I am doomed. Doomed doomed doomed. At least Jeff/Annie has a tiny chance of happening! Will/Rachel? Nothing. Nada. Not a chance in hell. BUT THEY ARE BOTH SO BEAUTIFULLY AWFUL THAT THEY ARE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER. I don't know how, but when they're together, they just become better people, even though they are both so self-centered and obsessed with success. They are able to really see each other in a way that no one else can (and they have trouble seeing other people with the same clarity, hence their unluckiness in love). They see each other's flaws and they see each other's potential for greatness and they see each other's fragility and insecurities despite their giantass egos and they care about each other's opinions and, they just... well, LOOK AT THEM!

♥ ♥ ♥

I am depressed though that there are so few fics out there for these two. And what there is is pretty lacking. However, I have manged to come upon a few good ones:

The Map is not the Territory by [livejournal.com profile] kitsune13 - By far the greatest Will/Rachel fic out there. It is amazing from start to finish and so magnificently in character that it jives with canon superbly well.

Peer Review, also by [livejournal.com profile] kitsune13 - You know, when I finally decided that I was going to read Will/Rachel fic, I was particularly looking for a future fic where Rachel comes back to McKinley High and gets to be Will's colleague and they argue in the same adorable/hot way that they did when Rachel was in glee, but this fic kind of took that idea and made it even better than I had imagined, where Will briefly becomes Sue and Rachel becomes Will and it's hilarious, but then they also connect to each other as equals and discover this whole new relationship and it's just awesome. I love it.

Ordinary Thursdays by [livejournal.com profile] milk_and_glass - A bit of an angsty take on Will/Rachel. I love the poeticness of this one.

I Wish (We Were Older) by [livejournal.com profile] ideaofglam - I think I mainly liked this one because the Rachel voice was so flawless. It's pretty much just porn, but the author so beautifully captured the intensity of Rachel Berry's personality that I simply could not resist it.

And, just to tempt you all further, have this vid (which I have linked to before, possibly more than once, but it is so spectacular that I simply don't care that I'm being repetitive):

*dreamy sigh*

PS
I think I've figured out how to go directly to those posts on that tumblr with the tiny entries in order to make them bigger! Woohoo, go me! (it is so sad that I'm proud of myself for such things)

Bah!

So... Merlin was kind of boring this week, yes? Poor Gaius, he gets no love from me whatsoever. I do love him, but, you know, I love everyone else more. At least there was some super adorable Merlin/Arthur arm-punching going on. ♥

Oh, speaking of Merlin, am I nuts for really, really wanting to do an Uther/Morgana vid from Uther's POV set to Haunted by Taylor Swift? Like, clearly Uther's inner monologue sounds exactly like an angsty teenage girl, right? I'm pretty sure it does. Side note: for the bit where she's like "He will try to take away my pain/And he just might make me smile/But, the whole time I'm wishing he was you instead" I totally want to show clips of Arthur. AUGH, WHAT IS MY BRAIN?

Time to have a bitch moment (or two): I've gotten back into reading Jeff/Annie fic lately, because I seriously miss them, but I keep coming across fics where Jeff just randomly starts calling Annie "Edison" and it just completely takes me out of the fic, and I hate hate HATE this weird trend and wish it would freaking stop (but, you know, my view of the characters isn't everyone's view of the characters, so I should not let it bother me this much, but UGH!). When they do that and then throw in some cutesy banter I can't help but read it as Jim and Pam, because that is pretty much a staple of Jim/Pam fic and it bugs me when people turn Jeff and Annie into them, because they are anything but Jim and Pam. Bah. Not once has Jeff ever called Annie by her last name, has he? Or anyone, for that matter (except for Chang, of course, but that one makes complete sense. In fact, it would be weird if they all suddenly started calling him "Ben"). Anyway, if it's not an AU, I find the whole "Edison" thing to be completely OOC. On the bright side, that seems to be my only pet peeve with Jeff/Annie fic so far (well, that and making Abed annoying, but I am much more forgiving about Abed since I think he is nearly impossible to get right in fanfic form).

Bitch moment #2: Usually I like it when fanvids manage to incorporate voice clips from the show, but you know what? It just doesn't work for Vampire Diaries unless you are really good at disguising the background music that plays pretty much throughout the whole show. If you can't disguise it, then it's just better to leave it out. Otherwise, a perfectly good vid ends up getting ruined. Oh, oh, and you know what else has been bugging me about fanvids lately (for all fandoms)? That whole echo effect with the voice clips. ENOUGH WITH THE ECHOES. WHAT THE HELL, WHY DOES EVERY VID HAVE TO HAVE THAT? Now, I'm not saying that it's entirely bad, but freaking use it with purpose, don't just do it because it's the current trend. Use it for memories, voices inside a character's head, but don't use it for plain old voice-overs. Especially if there are a lot of words and it all gets jumbled into incoherency after you put the echo effect on it. It really depends on the mood of the vid for me on whether I think the echo effect is used successfully or not, but more often than not I find it obnoxious. (but, again, the whole world does not see things the way I do, to each their own and all that, BUT GODDAMN. ENOUGH WITH THE ECHOES).

Alright, now that the negativity is over, let's get back to the good stuff. Want to read an absolutely amazing Jeff/Annie fic that will completely blow your mind with its wonderfulness? Then check out They Can Never Call You By It by [livejournal.com profile] columbuscrab. I am not generally into the fics that explore Annie's drug addiction, simply because most of the fics are either over the top or just not my thing, but this fic is so beautifully written and man do you feel everything that Annie is going through, and god did she get the Jeff/Annie friendship down so perfectly. Everything in this fic happens like you would think the characters would handle it, and it's just a magnificent piece of writing, and surprisingly in character for such a dark fic.

In other news, I find myself ridiculously into Sam/Spencer from iCarly tonight. I have no idea why. There hasn't even been a new ep of iCarly for a few weeks now, but gosh, I love those two so damn much, and I somehow got sucked into watching reruns from season 1 tonight and they were all so different back then, but the Sam/Spencer vibes were as strong as ever. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE. And I love watching those episodes now with the knowledge that it was completely intentional that Sam has always had a thing for Spencer. I always knew it, but, you know, they didn't confirm it canonically until just recently. And then in the last new ep (iDo, I think it was?), Carly and Freddie are listing all of Spencer's faults and he's just like, "Yeah, yeah, that's true," and then Sam pipes up with, "Yeah, and he's got a flat butt," and Spencer turns around and shouts "TOO FAR!" and knocks the food out of her hand, and then spends the rest of the episode trying to prove to her that his butt is firm and round, and... well, of course I'm going to read into that as, "Spencer wants Sam to know that he is desirable. And he wants her to touch his butt." Of course, it's simply just that Spencer is rather vain about his appearance, but it's interesting that he's most sensitive about criticism whenever it comes from Sam. Anyway, watching the earlier eps tonight reminded me how even in the beginning they've always been in sync with each other. Like, maybe they're not always on the same page (especially since they are both often in their own worlds), but it doesn't take long for them to catch up with each other. And whenever one of them says something illogical, it usually makes sense to the other while Carly and Freddie are just completely lost. Remember the paintball war and how they both went to extremes and respected each other more the more extreme they got? Remember the episode where Sam taught Spencer how to lie? Remember that time when he put his mouth on her ear so that she could hear his pop rocks popping? Remember when Spencer asked Sam to model for his sculpture because he broke up with his girlfriend? REMEMBER WHEN SAM SAID THAT IF SHE DIDN'T HAVE A LITTLE CRUSH ON SPENCER THAT SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN HITTING HIS FACE WITH A BASEBALL BAT? REMEMBER WHEN SPENCER KEPT SHOWING HER HIS BUTT? Yeah, that happened. Oh, them. I love them. A lot. Here, have a video:

Dear Psych finale,

I was totally feeling you, even the Shawn/Juliet (FIRST TIME EVER, by the way) but then you just had to go overboard in the end, didn't you? You just had to make me go from my surprised "Awwwwwwww," reaction to my typical, "Ugh ugh I'm going to puke," reaction, didn't you? UUUUUUUGH. Just, you know, next time? Skip the epically sappy speech that is just so ridiculously not Shawn, okay? Because the first sappy speech I totally bought and actually enjoyed because it was a genuine moment of self reflection for him, but the second speech? UUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH. That being said, this is probably the best that you've ever handled the atrocity that is Shawn/Juliet, and for once, FOR ONCE, you finally made me think that they aren't so bad. But I still miss Lassiter/Juliet like crazy. *cries*

I've started watching another Korean drama, because, well, I'm me, and I decided to go with Personal Taste, because apparently I'm kind of in love with Lee Min Ho? Only slightly, in the sense that I enjoy looking at him and this is the second drama of his that I've watched (he was the main dude on Boys Over Flowers). I think I find him even more delightful in this one than I did in BOF. Anyway, the first ep made me laugh like crazy and instantly got me interested in the drama, and that is not typical of most first eps for me with K-dramas, so, I think I'm really going to enjoy this one. But anyway, the point of even bringing this up is that I find it utterly hilarious that this dude:

Has been in almost every single Korean drama that I have seen. Dude gets around! And I've enjoyed him in everything, though in this one it looks like he's the bad guy.

I totally wrote a corny Merlin/Community mash-up comment fic. BUT THAT WAS BACK WHEN I WAS SUPER EXCITED FOR THE RETURN OF MERLIN. Ack, stupid spoilers, making me worry. *sigh*

Speaking of Community fic, you all should read anything’s righter than books could plan by [livejournal.com profile] dearygirl. Especially if you are A) a Britta fan, B) an Annie/Britta fan, C) a Jeff/Annie fan, or D) all of the above. But mainly A and B. And don't let the pregnancy storyline scare you away, because this fic handled it in such a very real and beautiful way, and it's entirely from Britta's POV, and the Britta/Annie friendship is so utterly magnificent in this, and Abed and Troy are perfection, and even the Jeff/Annie bits feel so true to life. I loved this so freaking much (and hey, there was even a tiny bit of Britta/Pierce subtext in there that totally thrilled me, even though, you know, I don't think the author meant it to be subtext, but whatever, I SEE BRITTA/PIERCE SUBTEXT IN ALL FANFIC. IT'S JUST A THING). Anyway, it's a great read. It made me laugh out loud and it made me burst into happy tears, and it's just so rare that a piece of fanfiction can move me to tears. So, yeah, it's wonderful.

And here, just to get you in the fic reading mood:

So, I've been out of the Merlin fandom loop pretty much since S2 ended. And being that I was out of the loop, I hadn't been reading the kink meme, and, well, there were barely any fills for Uther/Morgana anyway, so it wasn't like I'd be missing anything, right?

WRONG.

So wrong. First off, somebody filled the very first prompt that I had ever posted:

AND IT WAS AN ART FILL!!! There is barely any Uther/Morgana art out there, so, you know, that kind of made my day.

But then, but then, I found this stupendously wonderful fic that hits pretty much every kink I've ever wanted an Uther/Morgana fic to hit:

The Only Immortality You and I May Share by [livejournal.com profile] ems.
Prompt: Morgana/Uther, Modern AU. Morgana's parents are still alive. Uther is Morgana's godfather, he's been attracted to her for a while but restrained himself because she was underage. It's her sixteenth (or whatever age of consent you're happy with) birthday and Uther can't hold back. Anon wants barely legal!Morgana being thoroughly fucked by Uther and loving every minute of it. (Bonus points for Uther having guilt over Gorlois being his best friend.)

Oh my god, you guys, this fic is so fantastic in every way. First off, it's a modern AU where Uther and Morgana get to exist without that barrier of magic, and OH LOOK, THEY COMPLETELY GET ALONG WITHOUT IT. And yet, they are still 100% them, with the spoiling and the conniving and the comforting and the pushing each other to their limits and the EPIC TENSION and the lingering touches and the longing looks and the dirty, dirty thoughts that they are not supposed to have. The buildup was so utterly thorough and Lolita-esque that it made the big moment of release so utterly glorious. Oh how I loved this fic, and you all probably know by now that I am picky about my porn. I need substance and a certain way with words to hold my attention during the actual sex part of porn, and god, this fic did it so, so well. I mean, the whole thing should have felt so dirty, especially since Ygraine is still alive and kicking in this, but somehow the Uther/Morgana-ness just felt so right.

Day 11 - Favorite Annie moment

You know, I already linked to my favorite Annie moment when I named her as my favorite character, so, here's my second favorite:

THE GRAVY TRAIN!!!! It was just so random and delightful that it made me giddy (plus, you know, Annie called Jeff a handsome hobo). Another moment that I love just as equally is the bit in the Goodfellas episode where Annie does her little dance with her new backpack on. Apparently I adore it when she's being a bit of a conceited goofball.

So, I've sort of been catching up with Wizards of Waverly Place, and I cannot stop shipping Harper with Alex and Justin's dad. I JUST CAN'T STOP. They are pretty much made for each other. It doesn't help that the mom is mysteriously absent through most of season 3 and Harper is more of a mom character than the mom was. I don't know, dudes, I don't know why this Disney show gets me shipping the really naughty pairings, but hey, at least it's not incest this time? *sigh* The Third Wheel episode in particular kind of proves their OTPness, but there have been more (I think I was secretly shipping them during season 2, but season 3 has made me legitimately ship them, and for the first time ever I am kind of depressed that the fandom is only about Justin/Alex).

In Jeff/Annie news, a couple of fics that completely rocked my world:

Sophomore Year by [livejournal.com profile] judykim97 - an epic that totally convinces me on every level that Jeff/Annie can and will work in canon if given the chance. Only, you know, the show would make it less angsty (but I love my angst, especially Jeff!angst, and this fic delivered on that so beautifully). I was laughing out loud through so many parts of this fic, not only from the Jeff/Annie banter but also from the ensemble. This fic was just beautifully plotted out and should be read by everyone, because it's magnificent. Definitely one of my top favorites (I read over 20,000 words in one sitting, so you know I enjoyed it. And hey, if you get to the end, you can read my spaztastic review in the comments!).

I tried to be chill (but you're so hot that I melted) by [livejournal.com profile] dollsome - Hilarious and delightful and sweet and full of adorable awkward!Jeff/Annie and the POV jumps around between Jeff and Annie which gives us this completely interesting narrative and, well, I adore it. Did I mention that it's hilarious? Because it is.

It's fics like these that make me really, really miss Community, but at the same time, they're kind of spoiling me with these beautifully in character fics that feel so much like the actual show that I'll be depressed when this stuff doesn't happen come season 2, and it makes me kind of wish that these fics were the show. I don't know, it's complicated.

The 30 Day Shipping Meme
Day 10 - Why aren't these two married in real life?

Oh, this one's easy, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo!

I am baffled as to how these two have never been romantically interested in each other (because, seriously dudes, their chemistry is smokin'), but I'm pretty sure that their sexual aversion to each other is responsible for their longevity as a show business love team, so I'm certainly not going to complain. They have a very BFF type relationship going on in public, and they just seem really comfortable with each other and are quite often hugging each other or sleeping on each other or leaning on each other or smiling adorably at each other or teasing each other mercilessly or singing cheesy songs to each other and they are just the cutest couple to ever grace the earth. Even though, technically speaking, they're not actually a couple. But in my mind they will always be a little bit in love with each other, and yes, I have imagined that they are just waiting for each other and will one day get married. Because I'm lame like that.

OMG, THEY ARE SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL!

1. Warehouse 13 continues to be delightful. And I continue to fall in love with Pete/Claudia, even though this ep was pushing the Myka/Pete subtext more than usual. Whatevs. My rebel shipping cannot be stopped! Unfortunately.

2. Covert Affairs was so completely awesome. I am in it... to win it? I don't know, but anyway, I highly enjoyed it. The car chases were amazing, the action was the right mixture of showy and plausible, and the characters are already pretty lovable. Particularly Auggie. And, yeah, I kind of really, really want to ship Annie and Auggie, because not only is their banter adorable, but look at the alliteration! Clearly they are meant to be. Unfortunately there is some kind of crazy EPIC LOVE happening in Annie's backstory though, and the pilot managed to even get me intrigued there, and, let's face it, that dude kind of ruined all men for her. No one will ever measure up, so shipping Auggie/Annie is pretty futile, but that's never stopped me before, now has it? Also, I'll admit it, when Annie was getting her CIA badge and they were paralleling her dialog with Arthur's, I so thought I would be shipping them, but alas, the show failed to deliver anything of substance between them during their actual interaction. BUMMER. I don't even know why I'm focusing this review on shipping, because uh... that's most definitely not what this show is about, but again, has that ever stopped me? Anyway, this show is good summer fun, and pretty damn awesome. I was fearing that it would be too much like Burn Notice or White Collar, but it captured my love right from the start (mind you, the pilot for White Collar got me too, but then after that I found the show completely boring, so hopefully that doesn't happen with this one. With Burn Notice, I seem to get into it for a few eps and then promptly lose interest, then I get into it again, then I lose interest again).

3. I am so completely in love with this vid:

Oh, Jeff/Annie. *dreamy sigh* I love it when people somehow manage to make angsty vids out of such a wacky show. Oh, oh, speaking of Jeff/Annie, have you all read Home by [livejournal.com profile] dearygirl? If you haven't, you should, because 1) it's beyond awesome, 2) it's EPIC, both in length and in quality, and 3) flashbacks interspersed with real time! I am kind of a sucker for that format, I have no clue why, but anyway, it was expertly put to use in this story. Seriously, it was so, so wonderful.

4. You know, I look forward to the porn battle every year, and it's pretty much the only time that I dare to write porn, but of course this one's happening while I'm on vacation. So not cool. Oh well, I participated in the winter one, I guess that's enough. BUT WHAT A BUMMER.

5. True Blood. You know, I'm not too sure if I like Bill's regression into evil, because it's taking away most of his endearing qualities, but at the same time, it's kind of wonderful seeing him being so damn evil. It's interesting how his vampiric instincts are being shown in this completely dark light and it just feels dirty and hopeless and depressing, and you know it's because he's trying to give up Sookie and just be what he is because he thinks it'll hurt Sookie less, and I think this is what saves him from completely turning into a villain, but it also frustrates me because he didn't bother to ask Sookie what she wanted (but again, I understand why he did what he did, it's just sad to see him stop fighting for a love that he had previously fought so hard to protect). And man was that last Bill scene disturbing. Whenever Bill feeds on humans (other than Sookie), it is always shown in this terribly, terribly violent way, which is such a contradiction to the Bill we've come to know, and it somehow makes him feel way more dangerous than Eric has ever been (even though, you know, we've seen Eric rip a dude apart and completely traumatize poor Lafayette).

Also, I am kind of in mad love with Franklin. Dude's insane.

Day 25 - Favourite film villain

HANS MOTHERFLIPPING LANDA

Never has there been a villain that has intrigued me more than this bastard. He's just so intense and creepy, but at the same time he is incredibly quirky and intelligent and well-mannered and hilarious and I can't help but love the dude. Actually, now that I think about it, I should have probably listed him as my favorite film character of all time. But oh well, not listing him for that allowed me to list him for this. Anyway, I love that there isn't any explanation of why he is the way he is. No talk of a troubled childhood or love gone wrong or any of that crap. He's just a calculating, selfish, proud bastard who doesn't care who gets killed, as long as it's advantageous to him in some way. I love that in the end, it's ultimately glory that he's seeking, and he even goes about getting that in an underhanded way. And he succeeds, but, naturally, he gets punished in the end, and it's glorious.

Day 26 - Favourite film poster

Hmm, if we're talking ones that I own, then it would be this one:

Day 27 - A film that you wish you had seen in theaters

Um... for some reason, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, just because I really loved it and I feel like it would have been even more awesome had I seen it in the theater (most especially the epic battle at the end)

Day 28 - Favourite film from your favourite director

I honestly don't pay much attention to directors. The only ones that I really notice are Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarrantino, and John Woo, and that's mostly only because they tend to work with my favorite actors. I guess out of those three Scorsese is my favorite (maybe?), and I suppose my favorite film from him is Goodfellas. Again, I just really love that film. Okay, looking at their lists of films, Quentin is the only one where I've seen everything he's done, and clearly my favorite thing from him is Inglourious Basterds, but I don't really consider myself a Tarrantino fan, per se . For John Woo, my favorite is definitely The Killer.

the days )

In Jeff/Annie news, I find these two fics by [livejournal.com profile] shan21non to be absolutely phenomenal:

Sink or Swim - This is actually a really great group piece with a Jeff/Annie slant. The group interaction is so freaking hilarious, particularly any part with Pierce, and the Jeff/Britta friendship is written so incredibly perfectly and the beginning literally made me laugh out loud, and Abed was pretty spot-on which is hard to do in fic, and Troy, oh, Troy, he was great. And the Pierce/Britta arguing made me giddy. I find myself shipping these two in fics where people really had no intention of making them shippy, but hey, when a fic resembles the show this closely, it's gonna happen. As for the Jeff/Annie, GUH, so beautiful. That's the only part that I think departed from feeling like an actual episode, but only because the show would never focus that closely on any of the romantic relationships, but they remained in character, and it was angsty yet so very them. Love love love. As for the actual plot of the fic, the whole gang is gathered at Pierce's lake house for a 4th of July barbecue, Troy and Abed decide to make a horror movie about vampire mermen, and Jeff and Annie get stranded together on a boat after spending most of their time trying to avoid each other. It is brilliant, just trust me on this one.

Truth or Dare - This one is a pre-established relationship fic, but at the same time, we get these little flashbacks that give us an idea of how they've gotten to where they are now, but it's mostly commentary in Annie's mind as she's playing Truth or Dare with Britta and Shirley. Britta and Shirley don't know about Jeff and Annie, and... things come out, and there's awkwardness, and hilarity, and angst, and confusion, and fluff, and OH how I loved this one.

I am finally getting some alone time today. I've forgotten how much I appreciate my alone time. Anyway:

The 30 Day TV Meme
Day 21 - Favorite ship

This is kind of hard since it quite often changes, because, at the moment? It's totally Jeff/Annie (from Community). And not so long ago my OTP of all OTPs was Daniel/Betty from Ugly Betty (which has actually morphed into Armando/Betty, since I seem to get obsessed with them in every single version of the show). But then there's Buffy/Giles, an OTP I got so ridiculously wrapped up in and it is so epic and angsty that my love for them will probably last a lifetime. And we can't forget Uther/Morgana, but in all honesty, I'm kind of over them for the moment? Which feels weird, but once Merlin kicks back up again I'm sure my obsessive love for them will resurface.

So, I guess what I'm saying is, my current flavor of the month is Jeff/Annie, the ship that I most enjoy and love watching (repeatedly) in all incarnations is Armando/Betty (aka Daniel/Betty), but the ship with the most staying power in terms of watching and fanfic is probably Buffy/Giles.

And now I'm going to hit you with a random Jeff/Annie fanvid, just because:

*dreamy sigh*

Also, if anyone is looking for Jeff/Annie fanfic recs, I highly, HIGHLY rec these two fics by [livejournal.com profile] drearygirl:

Slow Show - This is both canon-based (up to 1x16) and future!fic, and it manages to incorporate the entire ensemble in the most brilliant ways possible, and I love how it emphasizes the importance of the entire group for Jeff, not just Annie or Britta, everyone, and there were so many moments where I was laughing out loud with this fic (especially during pretty much any bit that mentions Pierce), but it's also this beautifully plotted out romance for Jeff and Annie and it's completely believable and you're really on this emotional journey with them, and just... I can't say enough good things about this fic. And it's interesting how many themes it hits upon that were explored in the show later in the season (it's like the writer was psychic or something, or... you know, picking up on things that I wasn't looking for). This is a two parter, so be sure to check out the second chapter, too.

Like to Tell You All I Want is Now - By far my favorite post-finale fic that has been posted. It just captures that peace between Jeff and Annie so beautifully, how they just enjoy being around each other, how they always seem to flawlessly know what the other needs at the exact moment that they need it, and just, GAH, I love it.

Basically anything by this author is made of win, but those two are my favorites.

The 30 Day Film Meme
Day 05 - Favourite love story in a film

Okay, to choose just one is wicked hard. I mentioned some of my favorites last night, but it is virtually impossible for me to choose between them, so I think I'm just going to go with my favorite epic period romance: Anna and the King.

Gaaaah, the repressed feelings! The constant butting of heads! The way he is always dazzled by her crazy English lady views! The way he makes her blush when he teases her! The way they take each other's breath away! The way they want each other so badly when they know they can't have each other! The way she makes him understand only wanting one woman! The way they totally break each other's hearts and yet decide to keep loving each other anyway! The little moments where they almost touch but don't! Basically, everything about this romance is beautiful. Yeah, the film is obscenely inaccurate with the historical details, BUT DO I CARE? HELL NO. Because Anna and King Mongkut are so, so, so tragically beautiful. And it's got one of those endings where your voice gets all screechy and you're like, "NO! NO, GOD, WHY? WHY CAN'T THEY BE TOGETHER?" But you know why, and yet it still hurts, but that ending shot with them dancing and sort of finally giving into their feelings is so insanely beautiful.
